This study is focused on the public developer's role of urban regeneration projects in Japan to derive implications for economy-based-urban regeneration programs by the Special Act on Activation and Support for Urban Regeneration (Urban Regeneration Special Act). 4 case studies; Otemachi 1-1, Shinonome, Shibuya Station and Osiage-Narihirabashi were delivered to review public sectors' roles. Central government, local government and public developer play key roles each step. Urban Regeneration Special Act doesn't set up public sector's role to deliver urban regeneration projects after establishment of master plan. These cases build the governance organization to deliver urban regeneration projects among diverse interest groups including private sectors and landowners. Especially, public developers play a key role as a coordinator and a developer throughout whole urban regeneration projects.

The rate of the rural population over the age of 65 was increased from 14.7% in 2000 to 20.6% in 2010. The rate of elderly living alone in rural areas was increased from 9.2% to 13.3% for 10 years. Two million households over 40% of the elderly living alone nationwide are concentrated in rural areas. This paper investigates cases used as living space by interview and remodeling senior centers (village community center) for the elders living alone in rural areas. In Gimje two the nation's first senior centers were remodeled in 2006 (for both the village community center) and were begun to use these as group homes. Evaluation was a success. Since then, these were increased by approximately 20 centers per year by year and are currently 108 centers at the end of 2011. In Chungcheongnam-do, a pilot project has been begun for communal living by remodeling the senior center (for both the village community center) and elderly housing. Municipalities are similar in their business (is mostly). However, the interview results for each municipality are different. The success of the project depends on rules proposed by local governments and the development of programs with users to continuous financially support.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the perception and educational needs of international college students regarding the culture of college life. A questionnaire was given to international college students who are studying at universities in Korea. The results showed that international college students need to study about the culture of college life and had a perception that it is desirable to learn this through general education classes or freshman subjects after entering university. Also, the culture of college life can be divided into nine categories: bachelor's system; career and employment; university support centers and systems; interpersonal relations; departmental events; housing and living expenses; freshmen's events; exchange activities and programs; and cultural experience activities. International college students showed higher learning needs in order of career and employment; cultural experience activity; and bachelor's system. In addition, the characteristics of the learners showed different educational needs according to year of study and Korean language proficiency. The significance of this study is to specify the items of the culture of college life required for international college students, to measure the validity and reliability of these items, and to categorize the elements of the culture of college life.

Using 2009 KLIPS(Korean Labor & Income Panel Survey) data collected by the Korean Labor Institute, the satisfaction levels from the indexes were analyzed and compared between the two household types. The results showed that 46.0% of single-person households were not satisfactory in terms of all financial growth indexes but were partially satisfactory in terms of all financial security indexes. These householders tended to be females and in the their 70s, who lived in Seoul or in a suburb of Seoul, Korea. They reported problems with a lack of financial growth possibilities. 47.0% of non-single person households were not satisfactory in terms of all financial growth indexes but were partially satisfactory in terms of all financial security indexes. These householders tended to be males in their 60s and 70s with no job who were living in Seoul or in a suburb of Seoul, Korea. They reported having low level of liquidity and high level of debt redemption. 42.6% of single-person households were not satisfactory in terms of both financial security and growth indexes partially. These householders tended to be females in their 20s or 70s who were living in rural areas. They reported problems related to an adverse balance between household income and expenditures and a large scale of debt. 43.1% of non-single households were not satisfactory in terms of both financial security and growth indexes partially. We collected the studies of academic publication or conference, symposium addressed VR-based home modification from January 2011 to June 2021 using hand searching and databases such as Medline, Embase, and Scopus. A total of 7 studies were selected through selection criteria, and the studies were quantitative and qualitative studies on the development of VR prototype for home modification and the acceptability and usability of the programs. VR-based home modification have been developed and applied for various purposes for stakeholders involved in home modification. It can be used as the tools for fostering experts in home modification, evaluating the home environment remotely, and facilitating communication and collaboration with the stakeholders in the modification process. In the future, studies on development and feasibility of VR-based home modification program reflecting the characteristics of domestic housing should be conducted, and it is expected to be utilized as a tool to support the home modification process.

Focusing on increasing of single-person households this study aims to develop a scale to measure the healthiness of lifestyle among single-person households. The concept of healthiness of lifestyle is based on the theories of family strength and family ecology. We draw 50 items that encompass basic needs, individual, familial, and social aspects of single-person life. Using a sample of 317 persons who live alone, this study examined a factor structure of the items and selected 44 items based on the results of factor analysis. Reliability and criterion- and construct validity were also examined. The final scale consists of four domains; basic needs (finance, housing, consumption, and future plan), work·life balance (time management, health, and stress), family relations, and social participation (social network, social interests, and community participation). This scale can be used as an assessment measure of the healthiness of lifestyle of single persons who participate in programs in Healthy and Multicultural Families Support Centers.

The numbers of the elderly who suffer Empty Nest Syndrome have been accelerated as an aging population has increased vastly and nuclear families have been a dominating family type in modern Korean society. To make the elderly get out of this phenomenon and live actively, the scheme of converting their existing houses into shared houses was set as a hypothetical solution in this study, and finding out the responses of the elderly who owns their own houses is the purpose of the study. A small workshop panel method was used and the elderly aged 55 years upwards took part and they own a detached house that is relatively large for the elderly or the elderly couple to live alone. The workshop was consisted of 3 stages: 1. a survey 2. an interview 3. a site visit. Through this, problems that the elderly have been experiencing within their houses were looked into and the responses of the elderly on converting their houses to shared houses by introducing developed schematic plans. As a result, positive responses from the house owners were carried out based on the fact that subsidies from the government on house renovation and tenants matching programs are supported. Shared houses could provide home owners economical support with rents and help them to feel less lonely. This is one way of supporting the elderly to live and age actively in their later lives. Therefore, this idea should be established in connection with preparing aging, aged, and super-aged society.
