The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences, plans, and perception of housing wealth transfers among Korean families. Using questionnaire survey, 700 data from the respondents who residing in Seoul and Kyonggi provinces were collected and analyzed for the research purpose. Only a small portion of the respondents had experiences on housing wealth transfer. Most of the respondents showed that they would have a plan to inherit their housing wealth to their spouse and children after their death or the time when children need help from their parent(s). However, perception of babyboomers who were in their age of 40-50s was different from other age groups. Thus, it is important to consider its implications, especially with respect to changing traditional values on housing wealth transfer.

  • Resident participation or tenant empowerment is becoming an important concept of planning, provision of welfare services, and management of housing. It can be motivated by three variables: shared goals, shared values, and sense of community among residents. Theoretically, the more each of these three variables, the more likely people will be to participate. The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of management staff on residents' participation in public rental housing. For this, 198 management staff of public rental housing under Korea Housing Management were surveyed using questionnaire distributed by email during February 18 to 27, 2009. Only 33.3% of the public rental housing complexes surveyed constituted Residents Representative Committee. Most of the respondents showed negative perception of resident organizations and their roles as an meaningful way to communicate with them on the management system. Several ways to enhance the resident participation and to reduce housing and living cost burden of residents in public rental housing were suggested as follows: development and distribution of education and service program inspiring the residents' empowerment, enacting a provision of Tenants Representative obligation in Rental Housing Act, and so on.

There are negligible differences between two housing types in perception of the quality of living space, and neighbor environment. 2) According to the singhle family house group, it is found that structural feature, neighbor environment, and living space predict most of the variance in the level of housing unit satisfaction. • This study aims to examine how residents' perception of Neighborhood in the surrounding area changes to the spatial configuration changes due to co-residential area development in old urban area, and find out the characteristics of the perception changes. The research findings are as follows: First, the results of the spatial configuration changes analyzed by Space Syntax Model show that the integration value is between 0.5 and 0.7, which implies that the development in the old urban area does not contribute to the establishment of hierarchy. When the development takes place with the renewal of streets with consideration of the urban context, however, the integration improves relatively. Second, the actual distance and accessibility due to the street network appear to influence the residents' perception of Neighborhood. After the development, the residents' scope of perception increases on average. Third, the changes in the integration value of the streets after the development appear to influence the residents' scope of perception of Neighborhood. It turns out that there are frequent changes in the residents' scope of perception in the surrounding area around the streets with large increase in integration value, and the perception scope also moves to the center.

(2) Human lens coloration was not common until 85 years old and the hue of yellow and red was easily perceived by the older subjects. (3) Yellow is more preferred to other colors by the elderly and accuracy of yellow-color perception is higher than that of blue-color. (4) It is especially hard for the elderly to perceive the difference between pure blue and mixture of blue-green. Therefore blue and blue-green should not be adopted simultaneously in senior housing environment.
