한국가계의 소비수준 및 표준:지속가능한 생활양식의 실현 모색 (Korean Household’s Level and Standard of Consumption: For Developing Sustainable Lifestyle)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify household’s level and standard of consumption and their related variables in order to derive some useful implications for developing sustainable lifestyle. Data were collected from 567 household wives living in Seoul and the five Metropolitan cities in Korea. The results showed that most households owned such goods as central heating system, shower and bath, refrigerator, microwave oven, vacuum cleaner, washer. TV video player, personal computer, mobile phone, and car. They thought that most of the goods were necessary for the desired level of living and has a strong aspiration to buy those goods. This implied a tendency of uniformity in need perceptions and consumption patterns among Korean households. However, level and standard of consumption measured in selected living area differed according to age. education family size, household income, occupation, and the size housing, which showed that different approach was needed for developing sustainable lifestyle according to these variables.

김치냉장고 내의 유동 및 열전달 특성에 관한 수치해석 (A Numerical Study on the Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics in a Kimchi Refrigerator)

  • Kimchi refrigerator is a household electric appliance developed with the wholly domestic technology for maturing and keeping kimchi. However, the principle of keeping is not yet revealed obviously. This numerical study has been conducted to investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics in a kimchi refrigerator. The effects of arrangement variation of a evaporation tube are examined. Also, the heat transfer characteristics through the insulation material are discussed in detail. The flow and temperature field was simulated using the commercial code of CFX-5.3. A natural convection flow is formed through about 5/6 region from the bottom within the keeping space and accordingly, the 90% region of kimchi containers satisfies the temperature requirement with 0$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$. The stagnant flow exists in the upper 1/6 region of the keeping space and accordingly, the stratified high temperature distributions appear in the upper region of kimchi containers. The upward shift of the start location of a evaporation tube improves the temperature concentration toward $0^{\circ}C$ but the pitch variation is of no effect. The heat fluxes on the insulation surfaces show two-dimensional distributions with being higher toward the center. Through the variation of insulation thickness, 3.5% saving of insulation material is obtained under the same heat transfer rate.

냉장고용 판형 핀-관 응축기의 열전달 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of the Heat Transfer Rate of the Plate Fin-Tube Condenser for a Household Refrigerator)

  • 본 판형 핀-관형 응축기는 기존의 냉장고에 적용돼오던 원형 핀 콘덴서보다 약 30 % 정도 가벼운 무게를 갖는다. 가벼운 무게는 곧 재료비 줄임을 의미하기 때문에 동일한 성능만 구현된다면, 관련 산업발전에 큰 영향을 줄 수 있다. 이러한 판형-핀 열교환기가 적용된 가정용 냉장고 응축기의 실용화 가능성을 조사하기 위해 실험적인 연구가 수행된다. 실험평가에는 원래 적용돼오던 원형 핀-관 열교환기를 포함하여 총 네 가지 유형의 열교환기가 사용되며, 실제 가정용 냉장고와 비슷한 운전 상태를 제공하는 정교한 냉매공급 장치가 이용되고, 각 실험 시료에 대해 열전달율과 공기측 압력손실 등이 정밀하게 측정된다. 실험결과, 판형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달 성능은 기존의 원형 핀-관 열교환기보다 13% 이상 작은 것으로 나타났으나, 공기측 유로압력손실이 작고 단위질량당 열전달률이 우수한 것으로 나타났으며, 공기유속 증가와 유로 변경과 같은 최적화에 의한 동일 성능 구현의 가능성을 보여주는 것으로 나타났다.

Performance Evaluation of a Crank-driven Compressor and Linear Compressor for a Household Refrigerator

  • With the difficulties in increasing the efficiency of conventional crank-driven compressors due to mechanical loss, compressor manufacturers have investigated new kinds of compressor such as a free piston compressor mechanism. This study investigates the energy efficiency of two different types of compressor for a household refrigerator. One is the conventional crank-driven compressor, and the other one is a linear compressor. The energy efficiencies of these compressors are evaluated. Experimental results show that the linear compressor has 10% lower power consumption than the brushless direct-current (BLDC) reciprocating compressor. The linear compressor demonstrates excellent energy efficiency by reducing the friction loss. Furthermore, a motor efficiency exceeding 90% is achieved by using a linear oscillating mechanism with a moving magnet. Additionally, the compressor stroke to piston diameter ratio of the oscillating piston in the linear compressor can be adjusted in order to modulate the cooling capacity of the compressor for improved system efficiency.

와류 저감을 통한 냉장고 냉기순환용 고성능/저소음 원심홴의 개발 (Development of High-performance/low-noise Centrifugal Fan Circulating Cold Air Inside a Household Refrigerator by Reduction of Vortex Flow)

  • In this paper, high-performance and low-noise centrifugal fan used to circulate cold air inside a household refrigerator is developed by reducing the vortex flow observed near the tip of fan hub. First, the performance of the existing centrifugal fan is investigated through the experiment using a fan tester and the characteristics of detailed flow field obtained from the CFD simulation are closely examined. The strong vortex flow is observed in the vicinity of the tip of fan hub. Based on this result, new design is devised to reduce this vortex flow. As a result, it is numerically and experimentaly found that the volume flow rate of the new fan increases and the radiated noise decreases in comparison with the existing fan at the same rotation speed.

가정용 냉장고의 얼음 완전 취출 메커니즘의 설계 (Design of Ice Dispenser Mechanism of Household Refrigerator for Full Discharging)

  • 얼음을 제공하는 기능이 구비된 냉장고는 대부분 냉장고 내부의 얼음 저장소에 미리 얼음을 채워 두고 사용자가 필요할 때 많은 양의 얼음을 취출할 수 있도록 하고 있다. 그러나 냉장고의 얼음 저장소에 얼음이 채워진 상태로 냉장고가 장기간 사용되지 않거나 정상적인 동작 중에도 시간이 경과하면 얼음이 서로 엉기는 현상이 발생한다. 이렇게 엉긴 얼음 덩어리를 분리시키는 메커니즘이 구비되어 있으나 얼음 엉김 현상이 심할 경우 얼음이 완전히 취출되지 못하는 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 얼음이 엉기는 과정과 얼음의 분리력에 관한 기존의 연구를 조사하였고, 인위적으로 얼음을 엉기게 하여 다양한 조건에서 얼음의 취출 정도를 실험하였다. 이 과정에서 얼음의 취출을 방해하는 기존 얼음 저장소 형상의 문제점에 착안하여 이를 개선하기 위한 형상과, 완전 취출을 위해 얼음 분쇄 메커니즘의 작동 반경을 넓히는 새로운 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 메커니즘의 시제품을 제작하고 실제 냉장고에 적용하여 얼음이 완전 취출됨을 검증하였다. 그 결과 기존 얼음 저장소의 형상과 분쇄 메커니즘에서 얼음 취출률이 65%정도이었으나, 제안된 형상과 메커니즘에서는 완전히 추출되었다.

냉장고 소음 ACF 요소의 최소인지한계량 조사 (Just noticeable difference of autocorrelation function (ACF) parameters of refrigerator noise)

  • Just noticeable differences (jnds) of autocorrelation function (ACF) parameters - Phi (0), Tau 1 and Phi 1 - of household refrigerator noise were investigated by psychoacoustical analyses. Phi (0) of five refrigerators' noise was changed with equal (${\pm}$) interval level of 0.5-1.0 dB up to five intervals by manipulating sound pressure level of the noise. Tau 1 and Phi 1 were varied with equal (${\pm}$) interval of around 0.10 ms and 0.02, respectively. Pitch shifting and strengthen methods were applied for the Tau 1 and Phi 1 variations. As results of subjective evaluations, about 2.0 dB was shown as jnd of Phi (0). The values of 0.30 ms and 0.06 were found as jnds of Tau 1 and Phi 1, respectively. The jnd results of each ACF parameter can be applied to explain substantial amount of sound quality (SQ) enhancement in the SQ prediction indices which were proposed in the authors' previous study [Sato et al. (2007) J. Acoust. Soc. Am.].

  • The quality of various noises generated in the refrigerator is one of the important factors in deciding quality of the product. The main focus of sound control design has been shifted from reduction of sound level to improvement of sound duality for customer's preference. Up to date the purpose of noise control is the minimization of noise level. However despite of gradual decrease of noise level, occasionally the perceptional quality of noise has not been improved. In this paper, the relation between subjective and objective evaluation of sound quality has established and sound quality index is developed using ANN for evaluation of refrigerator's noise of both the starting noise and the stable running noise of compressor. To verify the usefulness of the index, the results in this paper have been compared with those surveyed by Consumer Union in USA.

  • The household reftigerator's noise which is closely related with resident environment can hardly be evaluated its sound quality using the Korean Standards. Radiation characteristics of compressor noise consist of tonal noise in low frequency range and, or narrow band noise in high frequency range. In this study, measuring method for detecting the abnormal and low-level noise in high frequency band is presented, and control method for its reduction is proposed. After installing wall which is similar to living condition, we determined a major concerning frequency band of noise. It can be found the directivity of high frequency noise radiated from compressor by using experiment and analysis. According to isolation of noise transfer path, remarkable noise reduction is achieved.

현장 측정에 의한 가정집 부하의 고조파 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hormonic Characteristics of Typical Household Loads by Field Measurements)

  • 일반 가정집 부하는 컴퓨터, 비디오, 냉장고, 마이크로웨이브 오븐, TV, 오디오 등의 많은 비선형 부하를 가지고 있다. 이들 비선형 부하는 고조파 전류를 발생시키고, 전력계통의 정현파 전압을 왜곡시킨다. 고조파 측정 결과로 고조파는 시간에 따라 변하는 특성이 관측되었다. 시간에 따라 변하는 고조파를 해결하기 위해서 쓰이는 가장 보편적인 방법은 누적확률을 사용하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 가정집 부하의 고조파 현장 측정과 EDSA 프로그램을 사용한 고조파 시뮬레이션을 심도 있게 다루고자 하였다.
