For systems with coexisting cellular and hot-spot cells in broadband orhogonal frequency and code division multiplexing (OFCDM) systems, a suitable cell search algorithm is proposed fur the common pilot channel (CPICH) in the forward link using separated I/Q channel cell specific codes(CSSC), in which the cellular cell specific scrambling code (CCSSC) is assigned to the in-phase (Q) pilot channel of all cellular cells, and the exclusive hot-spot cell specific scrambling code (HSCSSC) group is assigned to the quadrature (Q) pilot channel of all hot-spot cells. Therefore, the proposed algorithm enables a mobile station (MS) to search quickly for the most desirable hot-spot cell due to reducing the effect of CCSSC, when a MS wants to use a mobile internet. The computer simulation results show that the proposed cell search algorithm can achieve faster cell search time performance, compared to conventional cell search methods.
Complicated business logic makes program complexity more complicated. It's inevitable that the program must undergo reengineering processes all the way of in its lifetime. Hot spot analysis that has diverse purposes is getting an important question more and more. As a rule, reengineering process is done by UML model-based approach to analyze the legacy system. The smallest fragment of targets to be analysed is unit, that is function or class. Today's software development is to deal with huge change of software product and huge class including heavy quantity of LOC(Lines Of Code). However, analysis of unit is not precise approach process for reliable reengineering consequence. In this paper, we propose very precise hot spot analysis approach using Aspect-Oriented Programming languages, such as AspectJ. Typically the consistency between UML and source is needed code to redefine the modified library or framework boundaries. But reengineering approach using AOP doesn't need to analyze UML and source code. This approach makes dynamic event log data that contains detailed program interaction information. This dynamic event log data makes it possible to analyze hot spot.

Microcontrollers (MCUs) for endpoint smart sensor devices of internet-of-thing (IoT) are being implemented as system-on-chip (SoC) with on-chip instruction flash memory, in which user firmware is embedded. MCUs directly fetch binary code-based instructions through bit-line sense amplifier (S/A) integrated with on-chip flash memory. The S/A compares bit cell current with reference current to identify which data are programmed. The S/A in reading '0' (erased) cell data consumes a large sink current, which is greater than off-current for '1' (programmed) cell data. The main motivation of our approach is to reduce the number of accesses of erased cells by binary code level transformation. This paper proposes a built-in write/read path architecture using binary code inversion method based on hot-spot region detection of instruction code access to reduce sensing current in S/A. From the profiling result of instruction access patterns, hot-spot region of an original compiled binary code is conditionally inverted with the proposed bit-inversion techniques. The de-inversion hardware only consumes small logic current instead of analog sink current in S/A and it is integrated with the conventional S/A to restore original binary instructions. The proposed techniques are applied to the fully-custom designed MCU with ARM Cortex-M0$^{TM}$ using 0.18um Magnachip Flash-embedded CMOS process and the benefits in terms of power consumption reduction are evaluated for Dhrystone$^{TM}$ benchmark. The profiling environment of instruction code executions is implemented by extending commercial ARM KEIL$^{TM}$ MDK (MCU Development Kit) with our custom-designed access analyzer.
For the fatigue design of offshore structures, it is essential to understand and use the S-N curves specified in various industry standards and codes. This study compared the characteristics of the S-N curves for five major codes. The codes reviewed in this paper were DNV Classification Rules (DNV GL, 2016), ABS Classification Rules (ABS, 2003), British Standards (BSI, 2015), International Welding Association Standards (IIW, 2008), and European Standards (BSI, 2005). Types of stress, such as nominal stress, hot-spot stress, and effective notch stress, were analyzed according to the code. The basic shape of the S-N curve for each code was analyzed. A review of the survival probability of the basic design S-N curve for each code was performed. Finally, the impact on the conservatism of the design was analyzed by comparing the S-N curves of three grades D, E, and F by the five codes. The results presented in this paper are considered to be a good guideline for the fatigue design of offshore structures because the S-N curves of the five most-used codes were analyzed in depth.
We performed CCD photometric observations of the W-type contact binary AB And for 10 nights from November 1995 to December 1999 using the 61-cm reflector and BVR filters at Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory. From our observations, the seasonal light curves of AB And for 1995, 1996 and 1999 were completed and 8 new times of minimum light were determined. Newly obtained light curves show that strong light variations occurred in AB And during the past five years. We adopted the 1996 light curves as reference ones and obtained the photometric solutions of them with contact mode in the Wilson-Devinney binary code. Assuming such light variations were produced by the existence of a star spot (or star spots) in the analysis, we derived the system parameters and analyzed the 1995 and 1999 light curves by adjusting only the spot parameters. As the results, we interpreted that those light variations are produced by the simultaneous existence of a hot spot and a cool spot on the secondary. We could infer that the hot spot on the secondary is produced due to mass exchange between the components suggested by Lee (1999).

In this paper, we propose a dynamic code allocation strategy using voice activity detection and evaluate the performance of a dynamic code allocation strategy using voice activeity detection in DS-CDMA system. Proposed method allocates code to mobile terminal according to the residual capacity computed by SIR in the base station. In hot spot traffic loading cell, we find that the performance of proposed method is better than that of a fixed code assignment strategy using voice activity detection. Also, we find that the proposed method provide much improvement in blocking probability against the dynamic code assignment strategy withoug voice activity detection.
We attempt to investigate the main reason of the asymmetrical light curves of contact and near-contact eclipsing binary base on the hypothesis that cool spot was produced on late type star while hot spot was produced from transferred material from their companion star hitting surface. We select 7 eclipsing binary systems which showed asymmetric light curves and mass transfer. Period variation and mass transfer rate were obtained from O-C diagram. Radial velocity curves and light curves of those 7 eclipsing binary system were adopted from available literature in order to obtain the absolute dimension. For four contact eclipsing binary system (AD Phe, EZ Hya, AG Vir and VW Boo), their component stars belonged to spectral type G to K was fitted by cool spot model. While the other two near-contact systems (RT Scl and V1010 Oph) and one contact system (SV Cen) was fitted by cool spot model. The densities of the materials are adopted from stellar model which calculate by stellar structure code. The calculated spot temperature turns out to agree with the photometric solution but there are no correlate between period variation rate and type of spot.

Due to increased human activities and intensive rainfall events in a watershed, soil erosion and sediment transport have been hot issues in many areas of the world. To evaluate soil erosion problems spatially and temporarily, many computer models have been developed and evaluated over the years. However, it would not be reasonable to apply the model to a watershed if topography and environment are different to some degrees. Also, source codes of these models are not always public for modification. The ArcGIS model builder provides ease-of-use interface to develop model by linking several processes and input/output data together. In addition, it would be much easier to modify/enhance the model developed by others. Thus, simple model was developed to decide soil erosion hot spot areas using ArcGIS model builder tool in this study. This tool was applied to a watershed to evaluate model performance. It was found that sediment yield was estimated to be 13.7 ton/ha/yr at the most severe soil erosion hot spot area in the study watershed. As shown in this study, the ArcGIS model builder is an efficient tool to develop simple models without professional programming abilities. The model, developed in this study, is available at http://www.EnvSys.co.kr/~sateec/toolbox for free download. This tool can be easily modified for further enhancement with simple operations within ArcGIS model builder interface. Although very simple soil erosion and sediment yield were developed using model builder and applied to study watershed for soil erosion hot spot area in this study. The approaches shown in this study provides insights for model development and code sharing for the researchers in the related areas.
The loss of coolant flow accident is analyzed for the pressurized water reactor of Korea Nuclear Unit-1. The loss of coolant flow accident is classified into three types in accordance with its severity; partial loss of coolant flow, complete loss of coolant flow and pump locked rotor accident. Analysis has been carried out in three stages; system transient and average core analysis, DNBR calculation and hot spot analysis. The purpose of developing KTRAN is to simulate the transient fast. For the DNBR calculation, the thermal hydraulic codes, SCAN and COBRA IV-1, are adopted. And for the hot spot analysis, the fuel thermal transient code LTRAN is employed. This code system should be fast responding to the transient analysis. In case the transient occurs, severity comes within a couple of seconds. So response should be fast to accomodate the following sequence of the accident. Unfortunately this purpose could not be achieved by KTRAN. However, the calculated results are well comparable with FSAR results in range. Thereby, the effectiveness of KTRAN code analysis in this type of accident is proven.

After 9/11 attacks in the U.S, Terrorism has increased the number of unspecified casualties through multi-use facility terror attacks compared to the past. The subsequent London bombings and the self-destruction of Pakistan increased people's fear and social anxiety. As international events have been held in Korea recently, awareness and concern over radioactive terrorism and security management of radioactive materials are increasing. In this paper, we compared the results of different meteorological conditions using HotSpot Code. After creating a possible terror scenario in Korea, sources likely to be use in RDD and Dirty bomb were investigated. The meteorological condition was selected by comparing the Pasquill-Gifford stability class with the most stable condition F and the most unstable condition A. The result value of the A and F condition through simulation were shown not to cause citizens to die from acute effects due to radiological effects. The range of radioactivity is different according to the wind speed and the meteorological stability, and the degree of radioactivity dilution is different according to meteorological conditions. Analysis results are expected to be used for initial response in the event of a radioactive terrorist attack.
