  • Recently perovskite materials with much cheaper cost and marvellous optoelectronic properties have been studied for next generation LED display devices overseas. Technology development trends of inorganic $CsPbX_3$(X=halogen) based LEDs (PeLEDs) with assumed high stability were investigated on literature worldwide. It was found that syntheses methods of these nanocrystals (NCs, mainly quantum dots, QDs) made great progress. A new room temperature synthesis method showed outstanding PL (photoluminescence) properties such as high quantum yield (QY), narrow emission width, storage stability comparable with, or often exceeding those of conventional hot injection method and CdSe@ZnS type inorganic colloidal QDs. PeLEDs with shell layers might be more promising, indicating urgent real research start of this solution processing technology for small businesses in Korea.

  • Maltodextrin and citric acid are two types of natural materials with the potential as an eco-friendly binder. Maltodextrin is a natural substance rich in hydroxyl groups and can form hydrogen bonds with lignoselulosic material, while citric acid is a polycarboxylic acid which can form an ester bond with a hydroxyl group at lignoselulosic material. The combination of maltodextrin and citric acid as a natural binder materials supposed to be increase the ester bonds formed within the particleboard. This research determined to investigate the bonding properties of a new adhesive composed of maltodextrin/citric acid for nipa frond particleboard. Maltodextrin and citric acid were dissolved in distillated water at the ratios of 100/0, 87.5/12.5, 75/25 and 0/100, and the concentration of the solution was adjusted to 50% for maltodextrin and 60% citric acid (wt%). This adhesive solution was sprayed onto the particles at 20% resin content based on the weight of oven dried particles. Particleboards with a size of $25{\times}25{\times}1cm$, a target density $800kg/m^3$ were prepared by hot-pressing at press temperatures of $180^{\circ}C$ or $200^{\circ}C$, a press time of 10 minute and board pressure 3.6 MPa. Physical and mechanical properties of particleboard were tested by a standard method (JIS A 5908). The results showed that added citric acid level in maltodextrin/citric acid composition and hot-pressing temperature had affected to the properties of particleboard. The optimum properties of the board were achieved at a pressing temperature of $180^{\circ}C$ and the addition of only 20% citric acid. The results also indicated that the peak intensity of C=O group increased and OH group decreased with the addition of citric acid and an increase in the pressing temperature, suggesting an interreaction between the hydroxyl groups from the lignocellulosic materials and carboxyl groups from citric acid to form the ester groups.

  • This paper proposed a new concept of estimating method for LED(light-emitting diode) delamination with high accuracy. Usually, The LED is composed several materials which are LED chips, gold wire, phosphor, epoxy resin, adhesive, reflector and lead frame. These different materials are usually delaminated in a trouble conditions which are huge temperature difference, hot and humid or mechanical shocked. When the components are delaminated, a luminance will be lost, moisture be absorbed easily and a thermal resistance be increased attendantly. As a conventional method to estimate a delamination of LEDs, a solution immersing method is usually used in a field of LED manufacturing companies or researching institutes. This method has an advantage of simplicity but it is only shown that the existence of delamination or not. In this paper, we have proposed an estimating method for LEDs delamination using the polishing and the electron microscope. New proposed method has shown the result of confirming delamination without destruction and enabled quantitative analysis for LED delamination.

  • Wood chips of oak (Quercus mongolica) and larch (Larix leptolepis) were treated with a relatively low pressure steam(10~20 kg/$cm^2$) for 10~20 min (first-stage),and then increased pressure up to 30kg/$cm^2$ for 30 second (second-stage), and steam pressure was released intentionally to air. Main components of exploded wood were separated with 1% NaOH and hot water-methanol. In this work, the more effective low pressure explosion condition and separation method of wood main component were investigated. The results can be summarized as follows; 1. The yields of exploded wood were generally decreased with increasing steam pressure and reaction time. 2. The proper condition of steam explosion in low pressure for the separation of wood main components was 15kg/$cm^2$-10 min, in oak wood and 20kg/$cm^2$-10 min., then 30kg/$cm^2$-0.5 min, in larch wood. 3. The 23% of elude hemicellulose was obtained from the exploded oak wood which was treated with optimal condition. 4. In the case of hot water-methanol extraction, the ratio of delignification was 14~23% in the exploded larch wood and 42~55% in the exploded oak wood. 5. The methanol was more effective than 1% sodium hydroxide solution for extraction of lignin from exploded wood.

  • In the large steel ingosts, void defects exhibiting microvoid shapes are inevitably formed in the V-segregation zone of the ingots during solidification. In the hot open-die forging process, material properties are improved by eliminating internal porosity. The void size is practically very small as compared with the huge large ingot. Thus, for deformation analysis of a large ingot, a massive number of elements are needed in order to describe a void surface and to uniform mesh sturcture. In the present work the Global/Local scheme has been introduced in order to reduce the computational time and to easily generate the mesh system as a void module of local mesh for obtaining the accurate solution around a void. The procedure of the global- local method consists of two steps. In the first step global analysis is carried out which seeks a reasonably good solution with a cpurse mesh system without describing a void. Then, a local analysis is performed locally with a fine mesh system under the size-criterion of a local region. The computational time has been greatly reduced. Though the work it has been shown that large ingot forging incorporation small voids can be effectively analyzed by using the proposed Global/Local scheme.

  • NiAl alloy powders were prepared by mechanical alloying method and bulk specimens were produced using hot isostatic pressing techniques. This study focused on the transformation behavior and properties of Ni-Al mechanically alloyed powders and bulk alloys. Transformation behavior was investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), XRD and TEM. Particle size distribution and microstructures of mechanically alloyed powders were studied by particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscope (SEM). After 10 hours milling, XRB peak broadening appeared at the alloyed powders with compositions of Ni-36at%Al to 40at%Al. The NiAl and $Ni_3Al$ intermetallic compounds were formed after water quenching of solution treated powders and bulk samples at $1200^{\circ}C$, but the martensite phase was observed after liquid nitrogen quenching of solution treated powders. However, the formation of $Ni_3Al$ intermetallic compounds were not restricted by fast quenching into liquid nitrogen. It is considered to be caused by fast diffusion of atoms for the formation of stable $\beta$(NiAl) phase and $Ni_3Al$ due to nano sized grains during quenching. Amounts of martensite phase increased as the composition of aluminium component decreased in the Ni-Al alloy, which resulted in the increasing damping properties.

  • The finite-volume method for radiation in a three-dimensional non-orthogonal gas turbine combustion chamber with absorbing, emitting and anisotropically scattering medium is presented. The governing radiative transfer equation and its discretization equation using the step scheme are examined, while geometric relations which transform the Cartesian coordinate to a general body-fitted coordinate are provided to close the finite-volume formulation. The scattering phase function is modeled by a Legendre polynomial series. After a benchmark solution for three-dimensional rectangular combustor is obtained to validate the present formulation, a problem in three-dimensional non-orthogonal gas turbine combustor is investigated by changing such parameters as scattering albedo, scattering phase function and optical thickness. Heat flux in case of isotropic scattering is the same as that of non-scattering with specified heat generation in the medium. Forward scattering is found to produce higher radiative heat flux at hot and cold wall than backward scattering and optical thickness is also shown to play an important role in the problem. Results show that finite-volume method for radiation works well in orthogonal and non-orthogonal systems.

  • In this study, Pb(Zr$_{x}$ Ti$_{1-x}$ )O$_{3}$ (x=0.65, 0.52, 0.35) thin films were fabricated by Sol-Gel method. A stock solution with excess Pb 10[mol%] of Pb(Zr$_{x}$ Ti$_{1-x}$ )O$_{3}$ was made and spin-coated on the Pt/SiO$_{2}$/Si substrate at 4000[rpm] for 30[sec.]. Coated specimens were dried on the hot-plate at 400[.deg. C] for 10[min.]. Sintering temperature and time were 500~800[.deg. C] and 1~60[min.]. The coating process was repeated 6 times and the final thickness of the thin films were about 4800[A]. To investigate crystallization condition, PZT thin films were analyzed with sintering temperature, time and composition by the XRD. The microstructure of thin fulms were investigated by SEM. The ferroelectric perovskite phases precipitated under the sintering of 700[.deg. C] for 1 hours. In the PZT(52/48) composition, dielectric constant and dielectric loss were 2133, 2.2[%] at room temperature, respectively.ively.

  • In this study, dissolution characteristics of 60% LiBr aqueous solution for Miscanthus sinensis holocellulose in accordance with heating time and characteristics of regenerated films were analyzed. Miscanthus sinensis holocellulose was made by peracetic acid method. During the dissolution of 60% LiBr solution for the holocellulose, the dissolution was started from the tip of the cellulose fiber after about 7 minutes, and proceeded as it swollen like a balloon. A lot of Si was identified by analyzing hollocellulose regenerated film through SEM/EDS. Cross section of regenerated film as dissolution time till 40 minutes of dissolution showed multilayered structure and fiber orientation. But after 40 minutes, multilayered structure and fiber orientation was not observed. The crystal structure of the holecellulose was transformed cellulose I into cellulose II. Therefore, dissolution for 20 minutes with 60% LiBr solution in the condition of $190^{\circ}C$ hot plate was shown as an optimum condition to manufacture the holocellulose regenerated film.
