This paper presents a monopulse feed structure with low sidelobe monopulse pattern, which consists of a E-plane corrugated horn and a unfiorm pick-up aperture power divider. Tfhe design methods and epxerimental resutls of the E-plane corrugated feeder are described. Modified hybrid mode analysis and GSM (generalized scattering matrix) methods are introduced to design the E-plane corrugated feed horns. The 24-port corrugated feeder is designed using modified hybrid mode analysis initially and verified using GSM methods. Measurement results show that this feeder has low return loss and sidelobe level at sum and difference channel, respectively.

The performance of a radiator is generally determined using a wind tunnel, in which the air velocity is uniform. However, when it is installed in a car, the distribution of the air velocity becomes nonuniform due to front-end openings, cross members, and horns etc., resulting in lower performance. In this study, several underhood flow simulations have been first performed to get flow rates and velocity distributions over the radiator. Secondly heat release rates are calculated by both a performance curve and a radiator model. Finally, using an engine cooling system simulator, radiator-top-tank temperature is predicted and the variations of heat release rate and radiator-top-tank temperature with nonuniformity of air velocity distributions are analyzed. The results show that the current engine cooling model successfully accounts for the nonuniformity effects that should be considered for higher accuracy in predicting engine cooling performance.

We observed the external genitalia and uterus of a 24-month-old freemartin Hanwoo. The vulva was smaller than observed in a normal female Hanwoo, while the clitoris was larger in the freemartin. The angle between the external genitalia and the perineum also varied. Upon internal genital examination, the uterus of the freemartin was a thin tube approximately 18 cm in size and had not differentiated into a normal uterus and uterine horns.

A nondestructive moisture measurement technique has been applied to improve the previous moisture measurement method in the building research. The experiment was done in free space using horns since it is the key element for continuous and non-destructive measurement. For this purpose a microwave bridge type analyzer at the frequency of 9.5 GHz was used to determine the moisture content of sands in the range of 1~12%. From this, the representative calibration curves were obtained. This shows that moisture measurement technique using microwave is applicabe to the measurement of moisture in non-metallic materials such as coal, pulp, foods, building materials, etc.

A species of the parasitic copepods Phrixcephalus unbellatus (Lernaeide ; Cyclopoidea) from Branchiostegus japonicus is described and reported for the first time in Korea. The parasite was recovered from the eye of host. P. umbellatus was easily identified by the body shape extensive ramification of the antennal processes and numerous branches on the thoracic horns, The parasite inserted its head and the anterior portion of thorax up to the 4th segment in the eye ball of the host through a narrow hole which it usually burrowed near the upper margin of the cornea above the crystalline lens. Prevaklence of the parasite increased from 3.3% January to 11.9% in June.

A 2-year-old, intact female, mixed breed dog with depression, anorexia, poor mothering, and uterine prolapse was referred to the Haemaru Referral Animal Hospital. The prolapse(Y-shaped uterus) was detected on the fifth day of normal parturition(eight live pups). Depending on physical examination, bilateral uterine horns and uterine body were prolapsed into the vagina. The ovariohysterectomy was performed after the uterus with manual reduction through the vulva. In this case, uterine prolaspe was occurred in a primiparous bitch has been through normal parturition.

The cylinder horn is designed to increase uniformity of the displacement on the output face through simulation and experiments for the simple cylinder, spool and step horns. The modal analysis is conducted numerically to calculate the vibration mode and stress distribution of the cylinder horn, and the design of experiment (DOE) technique is employed to determine the optimum configuration of the spool horn. Displacement of the cylinder horn was measured using the Laser Doppler Vibrometer (LDV), and experimental results show good agreements with the predicted results. It appears that uniformity higher than 95% can be achieved with the spool horn when the proper dimension of the groove is used.

Chthamalus challengeri Hoek was collected from intertidal rocks to rear the larvae from hatching through nauplius to cyprid in the laboratory. Larval development consists of six nauplius stages and a cyprid. Unilobed labrum with a prominent protuberance and the frontolateral horns folded under the anterior cephalic shield margin are diagnostic features through all nauplius stages. The posterior border of the cephalic shield bears no posterior shield spines in nauplius stages IV-Ⅵ. There is a specific hispid seta in the fourth group of the antennal endopodite. Morphological features such as the cephalic shield, labrum, abdominal process, antennules, antennae and mandibles in all nauplius and cyprid stages are illustrated and described. The numerical setations of the antennule are found to aid in the intraspecific identification of barnacle nauplius stages without dissection. The keys to each stage of the barnacle larvae in Korean coastal waters are provided based on the reared nauplii of seven species: Pollicipes mitella Octomeris sulcata, Chthamalus challengeri, Balanus albicostatus B. trigonus, B. amphitrite, and B. improvisus inhabiting Korean coastal waters.

This study was performed to evaluate the effect of HCB on the bone mass and its related factors in estrogen-deficient animal model. The model rats of osteoporosis showed a significant decrease in bone density, bone ash density, calcium content of femur bone. At the 14th day after ovariectomy-surgery, rats were administered with HCB, extract of Houyttnia cordata, per orally, and continued for 10 weeks. And osteoporosis related parameters were determined to investigate the effect of HCB. Osteoporotic rats showed lower serum estrogen level, higher body weight than normal rats, and showed atrophy of uterine horns.

Anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (anti-MOG) syndrome is an immune-mediated inflammatory condition of the central nervous system, which usually involves spinal cord and optic nerves. Herein, we studied the case of a 57-year-old female patient who presented with acute/subacute symptoms of sphincter dysfunction, paraparesis, and ocular pain. The patient was diagnosed with anti-MOG syndrome with findings resembling snake-eye appearance (SEA), characterized by nearly symmetrical round high signal intensity lesions located at anterior horns (gray matter) on T2-weighted image.
