조절성 폭주비(AC/A) 측정에 의한 양안시 기능 분석 (The Analysis of Binocular Vision Function by measuring Accommodative Convergence(AC/A))

  • 조절과 폭주기능은 밀접하게 연관된 합동운동으로 폭주와 조절 어느 한 쪽이 자극되면 양기능이 동시에 일어난다. 이 중 조절자극에 의해 일어나는 폭주를 조절성 폭주라고 하며, 눈의 굴절상태에 따라 과부족이 있다. 본 연구는 조절성 폭주비와 사위와의 관계를 규명하기 위해 그래디앤트(Gradient)법과 헤트로포리아(Heterophoria)법 둘 다 모두 사용하여 안과적 질환이 없는 성인 남녀 41명을 대상으로 검사하였다. 1. 원거리 사위분포를 조사한 결과, 정위 5명, 외사위 32명, 내사위 4명으로 외사위가 가장 많은 비율을 차지하고 있었다. 근거리 사위분포도는 원거리보다 넓게 퍼져서 분포하고 있었다. 2. 수정체의 조절력을 이완시킨 상태에서 수평사위량 측정시, 38명이 외사위량이 증가하였다. 3. 정상 AC/A ratio에 해당하는 $4{\sim}6{\Delta}/D$를 갖는 사람이 Heterophoria법에서는 27명으로 약 66%를, Gradient 법에서는 16명으로 39%를 각각 차지하고 있었다.

세관을 이용한 Tube-in-Tube 열교환기내 R-22, R-407C 및 R-410A 응축열전달 특성 (Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Tube-in-Tube Heat Exchanger using Small Diameter Tubes with R-22, R-407C and R-410A)

  • The present paper dealt with an experimental study of condensation heat transfer coefficients with refrigerant R-22, R-407C and R-410A, and was focused on pressure gradient and heat transfer coefficient in horizontal tube-in-tube heat exchangers using inner diameter of 4 mm, 3 mm and 2 mm in a 16.91 mm tube and length of 3,000 mm. Experiments were performed at inlet saturation temperature of 35 to $45^{\circ}C$ and mass flux ranges from 200 to $600 kg/m^2s$. The pressure gradient with inner tube diameter of 4.0 mm is higher 2.5 times than that of 8.0 mm. In tube-in-tube HEX, the pressure gradient of R-410A were lower than those of R-22 and R-407C. The condensation heat transfer coefficients increased with mass flux increase, but they decreased with saturation temperature increased. Condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-410A were a little higher than those of R-22 and R-407C. The condensation heat transfer coefficients of tube-in-tube HEX were about 40% higher than those of double tube HEX.

Korean /l/-flapping in an /i/-/i/ context

  • In this study, we aim to describe kinematic characteristics of Korean /l/-flapping in two speech rates (fast vs. comfortable). Production data was collected from seven native speakers of Seoul Korean (four females and three males) using electromagnetic midsagittal articulometry (EMMA), which provided two dimensional data on the x-y plane. We examined kinematic properties of the vertical/horizontal tongue tip gesture, the vertical/horizontal (rear) tongue body gesture, and the jaw gesture in an /i/-/i/ context. Gestural landmarks of the vertical tongue tip gesture are directly measured. This serves as the actual anchoring time points to which relevant measures of other trajectories referred. The study focuses on velocity profiles, closing/opening spatiotemporal properties, constriction duration, and constriction minima were analyzed. The results are summarized as follows. First, gradiently distributed spatiotemporal values of the vertical tongue tip gesture were on a continuum. This shows more of a reduction in fast speech rate, but no single instance of categorical reduction (deletion). Second, Korean /l/-flapping predominantly exhibited a backward sliding tongue tip movement, in 83% of production, which is apparently distinguished from forward sliding movement in English. Lastly, there was an indication of vocalic reduction in fast rate, truncating spatial displacement of the jaw and the tongue body, although we did not observe positional variations with speech rate. The present study shows that Korean /l/-flapping is characterized by mixed articulatory properties with respect to flapping sounds of other languages such as English and Xiangxiang Chinese. Korean /l/ flapping demonstrates a language-universal property, such as the gradient nature of its flapping sounds that is compatible with other languages. On the other hand, Korean /l/-flapping also shows a language-particular property, particularly distinguished from English, in that a backward gliding movement occurs during the tongue tip closing movement. Although, there was no vocalic reduction in V2 observed in terms of jaw and tongue body height, spatial displacement of these articulators still suggests truncation in fast speech rate.

수평 Bridgman 법에 의한 GaAs 단결정 성장시 석영 보트(boat)로부터의 Si 유입에 대한 분석 (Analysis of silicon incorporation into the GaAs melt from the quartz boat during the single crystal growing with horizontal Bridgman method)

  • 석영 boat를 반응용기로 쓰는 수평 Bridgman 법에서, GaAs 단결정에 유입되는 Si 농도를 Ga-As 계의 상평형에 근거한 열역학적 평형을 가정하여 성장방법 별로 계산하였고, Hall 측정에 의한 전자 농도 측정치와 비교하였다. 단일 온도대역 수평 Bridgman(1-T HB) 법의 경우 Si 농도의 계산치가 5.3 ×10 15(atoms/cm3)인데 비해 실험치는 9.8 ×10 15(/cm3) 이었고, 이중 온도대역 수평 Bridgman(2-T HB) 법에서는 계산치가 1.1 ×10 16(atoms/cm3), 측정치가 1.5 ×10 16(/cm3) 인 것으로 각각 나타났다. 한편 1-T나 2-T HB 법에 비하여 성장시간이 절반 정도인 VGF(vertical gradient freeze) 방법의 경우 이론치와 실험치가 비교적 일치 하였고 그 값은 (6∼8) ×10 15 (atoms/cm3)인 것으로 나타났다.

수평미세관내 R-290의 비등열전달 특성 (Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics of R-290 in Horizontal Smooth Minichannel)

  • The present paper dealt with an experimental study of boiling heat transfer characteristics of R-290. Pressure gradient and heat transfer coefficient of the refrigerant flow inside horizontal smooth minichannel were obtained with inner tube diameter of 3.0 mm and length of 2,000 mm. The direct electric heating method was applied for supplying a heat to the refrigerant uniformly. The experiments were conducted with R-290 purity of 99.99%, at saturation temperature of 0 to $10^{\circ}C$, a mass flux range of $50{\sim}250kg/m^2s$, and a heat flux range of $5{\sim}20kW/m^2$. The heat transfer coefficients of R-290 increased with increasing mass flux and saturation temperature, wherein the effect of mass flux was higher than that of the saturation temperature. Heat flux has a low effect on the increasing of heat transfer coefficient. The heat transfer coefficient was compared with six existing heat transfer coefficient correlations. The Zhang et al.'s correlation (2004) gave the best prediction of heat transfer coefficient. A new correlation to predict the two-phase flow heat transfer coefficient was developed based on the Chen correlation. The new correlation predicted the experimental data well with a mean deviation of 11.78% and average deviation of -0.07%.

AVHRR/SST로 부터 표층유속을 추정하기 위한 역행렬 모델에서 가중치의 설정 (Determination of Weighting Factor in the Inverse Model for Estimating Surface Velocity from AVHRR/SST Data)

  • 연속된 AVHRR/SST 자료를 이용한 표층유속의 추정에 역행렬법이 이용되어 왔다. 본 모델에서 방정식체계는 열방정식과 제한요소로서 가중치가 있는 발산최소화이다. 제한요소는 열방정식의 속도해중에서 null space(Menke, 1984)에 해당하는 해를 구하기 위하여 도입되었으며 이 식들은 격자화한 영역에서 AVHRR/SST의 수온경사에 의해 선형화된다. 실험은 열방정식에 대한 발산최소화의 상대적 중요성을 나타내는 가중치의 크기를 설정하기 위하여 수행하였으며 행렬식은 SVD(Singular Value Decomposion)에 의해 해를 구했다. 실험에서 가상온도분포의 수온경사와 가상유속장의 발산의 크기는 실제해역에 근사시켰다. 열방정식은 착산의 효과를 무시하고 열속이 공간적으로 일정한 것으로 가정하여 구성하였으며 이와같은 가정에 의한 오류를 고려하기 위하여 가상 온도자료에 무작위오류를 도입하였다. 실험결과에 의하면 가중치를 설정하는 기준으로서 상대오차 최소화가 잔차최소화보다 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며 가중치가 $10^{-1}$의 크기일 때 추정유속의 오류가 가장 작은것으로 나타났다.

도로 주변의 PM10, NOx 및 O3의 시공간적 농도 분포 연구 (Temporal and Spatial Distributions of PM10, NOx and O3 around the Road)

  • PM10, NOx, and $O_3$ were measured at six locations, of which each three is horizontally and vertically distributed respectively, in an apartment complex around the heavily traffic road. Those were measured seven times a day with two hours interval starting from 8 o'clock in the morning for 15 days during May 2005 $\sim$ September 2005. PM10 and NOx showed high concentrations in rush hours while low concentrations in midday due to the direct emissions from automobiles in operation. Temporal variations of 01 showed very much similar trend appeared in normal urban atmospheres. The spatial distributions of PM10, NOx and $O_3$ showed that almost all of concentrations were higher in a row of Roadside > Surface at 130 m apart from the road > Surface at 230 m apart from the road > 3rd floor of apartment building > 15th floor of apartment building > 27th floor of apartment building. Model equations, which can project spatial concentration distributions, were constructed by combining the horizontal and the vertical linear regression equations derived from six mean values corresponding to six measuring locations. According to inter-comparison of PM10, NOx, and $O_3$ with the constructed model equations, concentration gradients were higher in a row of Vertical direction of NOx > Vertical direction of PM10 > Horizontal direction of NOx > Horizontal direction of PMIO > Vertical direction of $O_3$ > Horizontal direction of $O_3$. Why concentration gradient of particulate PM10 is lower than that of gaseous NOx is in question, and should be studied.

태평양의 다랑어 ( 참치 ) 어획량과 수온 분포와의 관계 (Relation Between the Distribution of Tuna Long-line Catches and its Temperature of the Fishing Ground in the Tropical-Subtropical Pacific Ocean)

  • The author investigated the relation between the catches of tuna species and the distribution of horizontal mean temperature at the Jepth of 10m and of vertical temperture sections in the different fishing grounds, using the date of catches in 1980, showing a relative good ones during six years from 1975 to 1980, and of oceanographic observations. Yellowfin and bigeye are mainly caught in South Equatorial Current regions including equatorial upwelling region in 5$^{\circ}$N to 5$^{\circ}$S, and albacore is mainly caught in Subtropical region in 20$^{\circ}$5 to 40$^{\circ}$5. The good fishing grounds of yellowfin and bigeye are made in the depth layer of 100 m to 250 m and temperature of 15$^{\circ}$C to 26$^{\circ}$C having a smooth gradient of thermocline in the Central Pacific between 180$^{\circ}$ and 1500W. But albacore is caught well in which the temperature of thermocline ranges from 100e to 25$^{\circ}$C and its gradient very smoothly. Approaching to the American Continent, the catches of yellowfin and big eye decrease because the thermocline becomes shallower and steeper at Eastern Pacific Region between 1500 and 800W.

Spatio-Temporal Variation of Cold Water Masses along the Eastern Coast of Korea in 2013 and 2014

  • With the results of observations in 2013 and 2014 including ocean buoys, in-situ investigations and wind data, we examined the spatio-temporal variation of cold water masses along the eastern coast of Korea. Usually, a cold water mass first appears along the northern part of the eastern coast from May to July, and then along the southern part of the eastern coast from late June to mid-August. Cold water masses appear 3~5 times a year and remain for 5~20 days in the southwestern part of the East Sea. A distinctive cold water mass appeared usually in mid-July in this area, the surface temperature of which was below $10^{\circ}C$ in some cases. During the appearance of a cold water mass in the southwestern part of the East Sea, the horizontal temperature gradient was large at the surface and a significant low water temperature below $8^{\circ}C$ appeared at the bottom level. This appearance of cold water masses clearly corresponded to southwesterly winds, which generated coastal upwelling.

Numerical Modelling Of The Coastal Upwelling Near The Poleward Edge Of The Western Boundary Current

  • A numerical experiment is made in order to clarify the mechanism of the upwelling phenomenon along the coast near the poleward edge of the western boundary current. The possibility of the upwelling is suggested from the analysis of the observational data in the east of Honshu, Japan, and in the south eastern coast of Korean Peninsula. This upwelling phenomenon is very deep and can be traced to the bottom layer. The upwelling phenomenon seems to be a general oceanic feature which characterizes the region along the west coast near the poleward edge of the western boundary current. This experiment is simulating the oceanic condition of the transition region between Kuroshio front and the Oyashio front in the east of Honshu, Japan. The possible explanations of the causes of the upwelling are as follows;In the interior of the modeled ocean the cold heavy water supplied from the north and the warm light water from the south make the north-south gradient of the pressure field and accelerate the eastward current to produce the h-orizontal divergence feld near the west coast. The divergence is compensated by the upwelling near the separation region. Another one is that the upwell-ed cold water strengthen constantly the pressure gradient which is balanced by the northward current and is weakened by the horizontal diffusion.
