  • This study aims to assess the effect of postulated seismic loads on the structural integrity of a spent nuclear fuel dry storage facility. Firstly, three-dimensional modal and response spectrum analyses were carried out. With regard to the latter analysis, the effect of incident angles against two horizontal and one vertical response spectra was also considered. Results showed that even though two critical locations were predicted at the longitudinal axis central part of upper flow path as well as the end discontinuity part of upper and lower flow paths connector, their maximum principal stress values were less than the tensile strength. Moreover, since the influence of vertical angle was 87% higher than that of horizontal angle in particular, which should be carefully handled to demonstrate integrity of the facility.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the geometric standardization of periapical intraoral radiography. Image distortion was measured by analysing serial radiography obtained from dry skull using 5 types of bite registration device. After 16 weeks, the angular distortion of Pattern resin was 0.26±0.14 degree(Horizontal angle 0.17±0.14, Vertical angle 0.16±0.11) which was the lowest among the 5 registration device, and that of putty type Exaflex was 0.49±0.35 degree(Horizontal angle 0.42±0.35, Vertical angle 0.17±0.13) which was the highest. The mean amount of distortion variance of Tooth shade acrylic at each experimental period was 0.06±0.08 which was the lowest among the 5 registration device, and that of XCP alone was 0.ll±0.13 which was the highest.

  • This study analyze the dynamic response property of latticed domes according to natural frequency ratio of substructure. Through eigenvalue analysis, it is was confirmed that the half-open angle $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ dominate vibration mode of the vertical direction and the half-open angle $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ dominate vibration mode of the horizontal direction. Through the dynamic response analysis, it is was confirmed that the first frequency about total structure largely appears about the vertical and the horizontal direction regardless of half-open angle.

  • In this study, the pattern was copied by the method of Tight Fitting Techinque, which resulted from the changed body by the upper limb motion-front-vertical motion(or vertical motion in front), side-vertical motion, and horizontal motion. And, this study analyzed the change of the pattern and the observed items dimension changed to the pattern. The results are as follows: 1. In the observation of the degree of the pattern change according to the motion of upper limb, the result provides that the motion change in the range of $135^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$ is the largest in front-vertical motion, $45^{circ}~90^{\circ}$ in side-vertical motion, and $0^{circ}~45^{\circ}$ in horizontal motion respectively. 2. The probability test result of the items of the motion is more related with the horizontal width item rather than the vertical length item in the front and back pattern where the back pattern has more effect than the front pattern. And the upper limb-surrounding items are more related than any otheer item. 3. The change of the pattern according to the motion shows the decrese of the neck width and the shoulder legth, the rising of the point of shoulder (or shoulder point) and armpit point, the decrease of the pattern width and the increase of the pattern length. As the angle of the motion grows vertically motion. The change of the shoulder length in the horizontal motion is smaller than that vertical. But as the angle of the motion grows horizontally, it has a tendency of decreas in th width of the front patten and the length of the pattern, whereas the width of the back pattern is noticeably increases.

  • This study was carried out in order to determine soft tissue response to incisor movement and mandibular repositioning and to determine feasibility of predicting vertical and horizontal changes in soft tissue with hard tissue movement. For this study, cephalometric records of 41 orthodontically treated adult females who had Angle's Class II division 1 malocclusion were selected and stepwise multiple regression analysis was employed. Following conclusions were obtained by analysing the changes of soft tissue and hard tissue before and after treatment. 1. Hard tissue measurements that showed significant changes before and after treatment were horizontal and angular changes of maxillary incisor, horizontal, vertical and angular changes of mandibular incisor, overjet, overbite, interincisal angle, mandibular repositioning, A,B, skeletal convexity and soft tissue measurements that showed significant changes were horizontal, thickness and angular changes of upper lip, horizontal and angular changes of lower lip, interlabial angle, nasolabial angle labiomental angle, Sri, Ss, Si and soft tissue convexity(P<0.05). 2. All Soft tissue measurements changed significantly before and after treatment had between one and four hard tissue independent variables at statistically significant level, indicating that all soft tissue changes were direct relationship with hard tissue changes 3. Ova jet, horizontal change of maxillary incisor, horizontal change of maxillary root apex and horizontal change of pogonion entered into prediction equations most frequentely indicating that they were more significant variables in prediction of vertical and horizontal changes in the soft tissue with treatment, but vertical changes of mandibular incisor not entered any prediction equations, indicating that it was not considered a good predictor for soft tissue changes with maxillary incisor retraction. 4. Horizontal and vertical changes in subnasale were found to have most independent variables, significant at the 0.05 level in prediction-equations(${\Delta}$Sn(H):Ur, Is(H), Pg(H), UIA,${\Delta}$Sn(V): Is(H), Pg(H), overjet, A), indicating that subnasale changes are influenced by complex hard tissue interaction. 5. Multiple correlation coefficient($R^2$) of the soft tissue prediction equations ranges from 0.2-0.6.

  • A new technique to construct an auto-stereoscopic display that offers massive horizontal parallax images is proposed Multiple telecetnric imaging systems are arranged in a modified 2D array. The horizontal parallax images displayed by LCD panels are imaged to be superimposed on a 3D screen. All parallax images are displayed in the different horizontal directions because all imaging systems have different horizontal positions. The difference of the vertical display directions due to the imaging system's vertical positions is canceled by a vertical diffuser placed at the 3D screen. Observers can percept 3D images with the binocular disparity, the vergence, and the smooth motion parallax. In addition, the accommodation function may also work because a number of parallax images are displayed with a very small angle interval in the horizontal direction. A prototype 3D display including 64 color LCD panels was constructed.

  • We have developed vertical alignment liquid crystal display (VA-LCD), of which the viewing angle can be controlled. The VA-LCD has the function of switching between the wide viewing mode and narrow viewing angle mode using one homogeneous aligned (HA) LC layer and one compensation film with a negative C-plate. The retardation of the HA layer at off axis can be controlled by applying an electric field while keeping the retardation value to be zero at normal direction. Consequently, the device exhibits a viewing mode over $170^{\circ}$ in terms of CR = 10 in wide viewing mode and about $60^{\circ}$ in terms of CR = 2 in narrow viewing angle mode m horizontal direction.

  • The purpose of this experiment was to find out the stages of result of specific character for Horse Vaulting Yeo motion To put the Yeo movement in process, we needed a gymnastics athlete C height of 165cm, weight of 62kg, age of 32, personal history of 21 years, and tested the athlete 5 times of motion training, and picked out the 2 best motion and analyzed it. Athletic reason is vertical motion, time uses, horizontal motion, distance, speed, and analyzed many other reasons as a result, and finally ended up with this conclusion. 1. After the take off on the board horizontal speed gradually decreased However, reverse of that, it showed that vertical speed increased. 2. While contacting the Horse Vaulting, horizontal speed decreased and vertical speed kept on increasing. Taking off Com the Horse Vaulting, horizontal, showing short time of training, 3m vertical height is shown after using Yeo motion at the peak of second fly jump. 3. While contacting the Horse Vaulting, both arms were showing the flection shape Especially this is also while contacting the Horse Vaulting, left arm was showing $90^{\circ}$ angle, and this has happened between the process of transition period of fast horizontal speed to vertical speed. 4. While contacting the Horse Vaulting, perfect blocking of the left arm must be complete for the right arm to have the perfect blocking as well.

  • The resulting characteristics of vibrations show different patterns for the various oscillating mechanisms. These vibrations causes troublesome operation problems for the operators and sometimes for the machines. Furthermore, in some cases the practical usage of this oscillating mechanism is constrained by its mechanical conditions. In this study, a balanced oscillating tillage tool with triple blades having different acting area was designed. The horizontal and vertical oscillating accelerations and draft power requirement due to the various travel speeds, lift angles, amplitudes and oscillating frequencies were investigated in a laboratory soil bin with a soil having invariable properties. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Overall, the horizontal acceleration decreased as the oscillating frequency and amplitude decreased. But the increase in travel speed caused the decrease horizontal acceleration. The blade with the lift angle of $30^{\circ}$ exhibited the lowest value of horizontal acceleration among the blades tested. 2. For the vertical acceleration, the fluctuating trend of oscillating acceleration was similar to the trend of the horizontal acceleration. 3. The draft power requirement decreased as the amplitude and oscillating frequency increased. But the increase in travel speed caused the increase in draft power requirement. The blade with the lift angle of $10^{\circ}$ showed the lowest value of draft power requirement among the blades tested.
