Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was employed for this study. The newly constructed system was administered to 80 healthcare providers in the experimental group for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, and ANCOVA with the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: In the process stage, the difference in the frequency of computerized information usage between the experimental and control groups was significant as $8.88{\pm}3.20$ and $7.08{\pm}2.92$, respectively (t=3.90, p<.001). In the outcome evaluation stage, all kinds of healthy lifestyle such as alcohol use, nutrition, weight management and mental health were not improved. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that the revised mobile computerized system was an effective device for individual visiting healthcare providers. Purpose: This study sought to determine the possibility of developing the data-sharing infrastructure of an integrated information system to improve the quality of home and visit-based healthcare services. Methods: The articles of study here were the forms used by a visiting healthcare agency, a home healthcare system of a home healthcare agency, and those used in long-term care insurance for elderly. We visited a visit-based healthcare agency and a home healthcare agency to survey their forms and interviewed relevant practitioners, and we searched for forms associated with long-term care insurance for the elderly on the Internet. We then organized the terms in each form and mapped them among the form after analyzing the concepts as a whole to inquiry into the possibility of integration. Results: The mapping procedure divided the terms into those related to personal information, problems and interventions. Mapping between the standard system (Omaha system) and the type of form was also done. Conclusion: In this study, we found that programs were configured differently depending on the objectives of the service. It is necessary to develop the program with an integrated information system by comparing the three services in terms of their distinct advantages, after which such a service should be utilized. The results of this study can serve as a database for the creation of a new integrated system.

This study aims to develop some guidelines on visiting nursing services for the management of hypertension patients at home in the rural areas of Korea. Firstly, in-depth interviews were given to the eight staff in charge of visiting nursing services in the rural health centers from June 1, 1999 to August 30, 1999. And then, their five patients with hypertension were under participatory observation. At the same time, literature review was conducted. Through those methods, some preliminary items were derived and the initial guidelines were drawn up. They were referred to ten experts, so that their validity was tested with Delphi Technique. Through the verification of their validity, they were complemented into the final ones. The total number of the items in the final guidelines was 22. By areas, they could be categorized as follows; eight items as skilled nursing care, five as general nursing care, three as guidance for diet, two as guidance for exercise, one as hospice care, and one as connection with social welfare services. By methods of activities, 13 items were classified as assessment, two as intervention, two as demonstration, and 17 as explanation. On the basis of the guidelines, nursing services are recommended to be divided and performed; general nursing activities by nurse aids and skilled nursing activities by public health nurses.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a suicide prevention nursing competency program for visiting nurses, and to examine the effect of this program on suicide prevention-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Methods: A total of 66 visiting nurses were recruited from 10 public health centers and divided equally into the experimental and control group. For the experimental group, the suicide prevention nursing competency program was provided twice a week for 120 minutes across 3 weeks. Participants were asked questions related to suicide prevention knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors at pre, post, and 1 month after the intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, repeated measure ANOVA, and Friedman test. Results: There were significant differences in knowledge and behaviors at the measured time periods, and significant differences in attitudes and behaviors between the two groups. There were also significant interactions between groups and times in attitudes and behaviors. These results suggest that the effects of the program were persistent until the 1-month follow-up. Conclusion: The developed suicide prevention nursing competency program is effective in evidence-based education for visiting nurses to increase suicide prevention-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.
