Web Based Smart Home Automation Control System Design

  • The development of technology provides and increases security as well as convenience for humans. The development of new technology directly affects the standard of life thanks to smart home automatic control systems. This paper describes a door control, automatic curtain, home security (CCTV, fire, gas, safe, etc.), home control (energy, light, ventilation, etc.) and web-based smart home automatic controller. It also describes the use of ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) for automatic control of home equipment, a Multi-Axes Servo Controller using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and PLC (programmable logic controller). Additionally, it describes the development of a HTML editor using web auto control software. The tab loading time (7 seconds) is faster when using ARM-based web browser software instead of Chrome and Firefox is used because the browser has a small memory footprint (300M). This system is realized by web auto controller language which controls and uses PLCs that are easier than existing devices. This smart home automatic control technology can control smart home equipment anywhere and anytime and provides a remote interface through mobile equipment.

  • Security services required by a home network depend on the definition of a home. That depends on which of home network technologies is included. Various devices in home network environments connected with access network. These home devices can be attacked. So essential parts is needed to protect secret information stored in home network devices. In this paper we design the system that protects secret information in home network devices to offer secure home network services.

  • Compared to corporation and government networks, home devices and services connected in a home networks has security threats because of the use of various wired and wireless network, middleware and protocol in digital home environment, a restricted system resource of home information appliances and the users who do not care about security. So security is critical element to provide secure services in a home network environments. In this paper we design the access control system based on RBAC to offer secure home network services.

  • This paper presents new type remote home automation that can control and manage hi-directionally and efficiently home appliances and home security systems in home through Internet. The system is used virtual reality technology to construct very easy user interface and used Internet as network for remote control. Here, the user interface is 3D GUI which gives user feeling to be at his home on web-browser, and also shows him present state of control objects at home. This system has been implemented on the basis of Java and VRML. In this paper we propose the internet-based remote control system, and show usefulness of the suggested system by applying to home automation system.

  • Even though the secret information stored in home device in home network must be handled very safely and carefully, we have no measure for protecting the secret information without additional hardware support. Since already many home devices without consideration of the security have been used, the security protection method for those devices have to be required. In this paper, we suggest two schemes that protect the security information using networking function without additional hardware support, and those hybrid method to supplement the defects of each scheme. We also consider the our proposals in the aspects of security and cost.

  • This paper, in the field of home automation with increased security, is to develop a function of storing and inquiring images, which are taken by the camera of a videophone connected to DVR devices. Particularly, as soon as visitors push a bell button, the images of them are stored automatically and let us check the information of them Besides, we can monitor the status of an empty house with varieties of sensors. Information of these can be checked out through internet in real-time by home automation and web-based systems. Finally, we developed home security system that sends a homeowner a text message about the status of the house in case of strange things happening at the empty house.

Research on Security Threats for SMEs by Workplace in the COVID-19 Environment

  • Although telecommuting of SMEs has been activated due to the COVID-19 phenomenon, the security model for this is insufficient. Accordingly, the study was divided into threats centered on smartphones and threats centered on smartphone users. As a result of the study, one-third of SMEs are working from home. At this company with 100 employees, more than 50% of them work from home.and In the metal, machinery and chemical industries with factories, 20% of them work from home. As a result of analyzing the correlation between telecommuting according to the presence or absence of a factory, the correlation coefficient (r=-.385) has a clear linear relationship. And, as a result of the regression analysis, the R-squared value was 0.148, so companies with factories are highly related to telecommuting. In other words, we found that SMEs with factories do not want to work from home. In addition, as a result of analyzing the level of security threats, there were great concerns about theft, hacking, and phone taking during remote work. As limitations of the study, there were difficulties in selecting SMEs from the population in a non-face-to-face work environment, and there were limitations in the questionnaire items for deriving a non-face-to-face work environment.

  • In this paper, we have designed the Web_based Home Gateway Management System using SSL, which can manage subscribers using Home Gateway device in home networking technology. To manage Home Gateway devices with SNMP, management elements are classified into system. performance. fault functional area based on MIB objects from Home Gateway devices MIB. System analysis provides configuration information of each Home Gateway, and Performance analysis provides device's traffic information and state. And fault analysis provides fault logging for the unexpected events and trap message from devices. HGMS uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to enforce the security of communication which is between server and client, and it improved the stability of HGMS.

  • This paper presents the design of a USB home controller and a home control system that specially is focused on controlling home appliances as a part of home network systems, the implementation of the USB device access class in an OSGi service platform and a home security system as an application. Designed USB home controllers are able to control various home appliances. They can be used not only to control big home appliances like a boiler but also to control small home appliances like a toaster because they are low-cost solutions. The USB home controller supports real time control using the interrupt transfer of the USB specification. And It is easy to use by homemakers who have no technical knowledge of the system because they just plug and unplug it in a home server then it automatically joins and leaves a home control system. This technique is based on hot-plug and the USB Device Access class in an OSGi Service Platform. The USB Device Access class supports the coordination of automatic detection and attachment of the USB home controller on an OSGi Service Platform, and it downloads and installs device drivers on demand. For an application, we implemented and tested a home security system using two USB home controllers and a CDMA module.

Building More Secure Femtocell with Improved Proxy Signature (개선된 위임 서명 방식을 이용해서 더 안전한 펨토셀 환경 구축)

  • Demand for the femtocell is largely credited to the surge in a more always best connected communication conscious public. 3GPP defines new architecture and security requirement for Release 9 to deal with femtocell, Home eNode B referred as HeNB. In this paper, we analyze the HeNB security with respect to mutual authentication, access control, and secure key agreement. Our analysis pointed out that a number of security vulnerabilities have still not been addressed and solved by 3GPP technical specification. These include eavesdropping, man-in-the-middle attack, compromising subscriber access list, and masquerading as valid HeNB. To the best of our knowledge, any related research studying HeNB security was not published before. Towards this end, this paper proposes an improved authentication and key agreement mechanism for HeNB which adopts proxy-signature and proxy-signed proxy-signature. Through our elaborate analysis, we conclude that the proposed not only prevents the various security threats but also accomplishes minimum distance from use-tolerable authentication delay.
