손상 허용 설계를 적용한 복합재 날개의 정하중 시험 (Static Test of a Composite Wing with Damage Tolerance Design)

  • 본 연구에서는 복합재 날개 구조물에 손상허용설계를 적용하고 이를 입증하기 위한 정하중 시험을 수행하였다. 복합재 날개 구조의 정적강도를 입증하기 위하여 5 조건의 설계 제한하중 시험과 3 조건의 설계 극한하중 시험을 수행하였다. 그 다음으로 손상허용 설계를 입증하기 위하여 관련 규정에 따라서 복합재 주익 주요 취약부위에 BVID 10개, Open hole 11개를 생성 후, 설계 극한하중 시험과 파단시험을 실시하였다. 날개 주요 부위의 변위 및 변형률 시험 결과는 구조해석 결과와 비교적 잘 일치하였으며, 파단시험의 최초 파단부위도 최소안전여유를 갖는 부위에서 발생하여 구조해석 모델 및 강도평가 결과가 실제 구조의 정적 거동과 유사함을 확인하였다.

  • 국방과학연구소 풍동실험실에서는 스텔스 형상 무인전투기개발에 필요한 공력특성 측정과 관련시험기법의 확립을 위한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 스텔스 특성을 가진 형상의 공기역학적 특성의 추출과 5-hole probe를 이용한 유동장 특성의 측정을 목적으로 하였으며, 시험결과들의 분석과 앞전 형상의 변경에 따른 공력특성의 변화도 함께 고찰하였다.

  • 홀 확장법은 홀 주위에 압축 잔류응력층을 생성시킴으로서 균열 발생을 지연시키는 방법으로 항공산업 분야에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 홀 확장 잔류응력의 분포는 홀 확장률, 맨드럴 삽입방향, 재료 물성치 등 여러 가지 홀 확장 피라미터에 따라 달라진다. 홀 확장 잔류응력층의 정확한 파악은 항공산업의 실제 설계에 있어서 매우 중요함에도 불구하고 이에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 부족하였다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석을 통하여 두 개의 인전한 홀에 홀 확장법을 적용하는 경우 대한 잔류응력 분포를 구하였다. 연구 결과 두개 홀에 동시에 홀 확장을 하는 경우가 순차적으로 홀 확장으로 하는 경우보다 더 유리한 잔류응력 분포를 얻을 수 있었다.

The oral microbiome of implant-abutment screw holes compared with the peri-implant sulcus and natural supragingival plaque in healthy individuals

  • Purpose: An implant-supported prosthesis consists of an implant fixture, an abutment, an internal screw that connects the abutment to the implant fixture, and the upper prosthesis. Numerous studies have investigated the microorganisms present on the implant surface, surrounding tissues, and the subgingival microflora associated with peri-implantitis. However, there is limited information regarding the microbiome within the internal screw space. In this study, microbial samples were collected from the supragingival surfaces of natural teeth, the peri-implant sulcus, and the implant-abutment screw hole, in order to characterize the microbiome of the internal screw space in healthy subjects. Methods: Samples were obtained from the supragingival region of natural teeth, the peri-implant sulcus, and the implant screw hole in 20 healthy subjects. DNA was extracted, and the V3-V4 region of the 16S ribosomal RNA was sequenced for microbiome analysis. Alpha diversity, beta diversity, linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe), and network analysis were employed to compare the characteristics of the microbiomes. Results: We observed significant differences in beta diversity among the samples. Upon analyzing the significant taxa using LEfSe, the microbial composition of the implant-abutment screw hole's microbiome was found to be similar to that of the other sampling sites' microbiomes. Moreover, the microbiome network analysis revealed a unique network complexity in samples obtained from the implant screw hole compared to those from the other sampling sites. Conclusions: The bacterial composition of the biofilm collected from the implant-abutment screw hole exhibited significant differences compared to the supra-structure of the implant. Therefore, long-term monitoring and management of not only the peri-implant tissue but also the implant screw are necessary.

  • One of the important effects of the space environment on the satellites and spacecrafts is the single event upsets (SEUs) which are caused by the high energy particles in space. A SEU occurs when an ionizing radiation produces a burst of electron-hole pairs in a digital microelectronic circuit and causes the charge state to change. We have developed and integrated a software package which can estimate the SEU rates for any specified locations or altitudes under various geophysical conditions. We report in this paper the algorithm of the software and the results for some devices with known parameters. We also compare the results with actual observations made by Akebono.

  • In this work, the electrophoretic motion of dsDNA molecule represented by a polymer through an artificial nano-pore in a membrane is simulated using the numerical method combining the lattice Boltzmann and Langevin molecular dynamic method. The polymer motion is represented by Langevin molecular dynamics technique while the fluid flow is taken into account by fluctuating lattice-Boltzmann method. The hydrodynamic interactions between the polymer and solvent in a confined space with a membrane having a hole are considered explicitly through the frictional and the random forces. The electric field intensity over the space is obtained from a finite difference method. Initially, the polymer is placed at one side of the space, and an electric field is applied to drive the polymer to the other side of the space through the nano-pore. In future, we plan to study the effect of the polymer size and the electric field on the electrophoretic velocity.

열해석에 기초한 방사성폐기물 처분장 배치 최적화 (Optimization of the Layout of a Radioactive Waste Repository Based on Thermal Analysis)

  • 국내 원전에서 발생되는 36,000톤의 사용후핵연료를 처분하기 위해서는 약 $4km^2$의 지하 처분장이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 굴착량과 처분장 면적을 최소화하기 위한 지하 심부 처분장 배치의 최적화를 실시하였다. 열 해석 결과를 토대로 처분 터널과 처분공 간격이 처분장 배치에 미치는 영향을 고려한 결과, 처분장 면적과 굴착량은 처분 터널의 길이가 길어짐에 따라 감소하였다. 주어진 열적 기준을 만족하면서 처분장 면적을 줄이기 위해서는 처분 터널의 간격을 줄이고 처분공 간격을 늘리는 것이 유리하였으며, 반면에 굴착량을 최소화하는 경우 처분공 간격을 줄이고 처분 터널 간격을 늘려주는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

Channel Statistical MAC Protocol for Cognitive Radio

  • opportunistic spectrum access (OSA) allows unlicensed users to share licensed spectrum in space and time with no or little interference to primary users, with bring new research challenges in MAC design. We propose a cognitive MAC protocol using statistical channel information and selecting appropriate idle channel for transmission. The protocol based on the CSMA/CA, exploits statistics of spectrum usage for decision making on channel access. Idle channel availability, spectrum hole sufficiency and available channel condition will be included in algorithm statistical information. The model include the control channel and data channel, the transmitter negotiates with receiver on transmission parameters through control channel, statistical decision results (successful rate of transmission) from exchanged transmission parameters of control channel should pass the threshold and decide the data transmission with spectrum hole on data channel. A dynamical sensing range as a important parameter introduced to maintain the our protocol performance. The proposed protocol's simulation will show that proposed protocol does improve the throughput performance via traditional opportunistic spectrum access MAC protocol.

  • Due to the nature of semi-submergible drilling rig, various equipments are arranged in a limited space, and therefore the many types of outfitting holes passing through the hull structure are densely arranged and that is required the detailed structural strength evaluation in terms of ULS and FLS by class or client. Particularly, semi-submergible drilling rig has a variety of global load which affects the structure strength around holes compared to general commercial ship, and its response of stress is also complicated, so it is difficult to carry out the prediction design of structural strength evaluation and reinforcement. In this regard, this paper presents a case study on the evaluation of structural strength for the various holes and large openings of semi-submergible drilling rig conducted by our company, as well as an established hole verification procedure.
