  • The importance of utilization of ocean space is increased due to high population and narrow land space. The development of a new technology for future use of ocean space, such as a design technology of Very Large Floating Structures(VLFS) is needed. This paper introduces the rime history analysis of superstructures on very large floating structures and proposes the estimation method of time displacement history considering wave loads. The dynamic responses of superstructure according to variation of period and amplitude are analysed using an example frame structure and the dynamic structural safety of VLFS pilot superstructure is evaluated.

  • We aim to trace cosmic mass accretion history of satellites around a dwarf galaxy in Lambda-CDM cosmology frame. Each satellite has a unique mass accretion history due to different environment, potential depth, and different merging events. We perform three different zoom simulations whose target galaxy has a mass of ${\sim}10^{10}Msun$, using ~17 million particles covering a cubic box of $1(Mpc/h)^3$. Here, individual particle masses for dark matter (DM) and gas are $M_{DM}=4.1{\times}10^3Msun$ and $Mgas=7.9{\times}10^2Msun$, respectively, and thus each satellite can be resolved with more than several hundreds of particles.

  • In this paper, our main concern is the historical development of the Finsler geometry in Debrecen, Hungary initiated by L. Berwald. First we look into the research trend in Berwald's days affected by the $G{\ddot{o}}ttingen$ mathematicians from C. Gauss and downward. Then we study how he was motivated to concentrate on the then completely new research area, Finsler geometry. Finally we examine the course of establishing Hungarian Debrecen school of Finsler geometry via the scholars including O. Varga, A. $Rapcs{\acute{a}}k$, L. $Tam{\acute{a}}ssy$ all deeply affected by Berwald after his settlement in Debrecen, Hungary.

  • In recent times, a medical book called "WooJam JabJeo" has been published in complete Korean version. Not a few cases where the vivid appearance of the place for medical treatment are included intact in this medical book. This study is attempting to analyze one symptom of a disease by choosing it among the diseases our ancient sages treated in the light of the fact that there are only a few models which are applied to today's clinical treatment by our ancient sages appearance of medical service. This study believes that such an analysis of ancient medicine could be a part of the efforts to increase the applicable models to today's clinical treatment one by one. This paper is aimed at introducing and analyzing the three cases of Ganwul which are found in "WooJam JabJeo". It's because this study thinks that Ganwul is a symptom over which oriental medicine can not only establish dominance over western medicine it its diagnosis and prescription but Ganwul will also have high applicability to today's clinical treatment. Through this research, this study was able to perceive that the author. Jang, Tae-kyeong of "WooJam JabJeo" had vast knowledge of medical theories, especially in author's understanding diseases and composing prescription based on "Donguibogam". Up to the present time, domestic medical circles have understood the emergence of "Jejungshinpyeon(濟衆新編)"(1799) or "Bangyakhappyeon(方藥合編)"(1885) as an outlining work at most for overcoming such a limit of "DonguiBogam" superficially. However, by looking into Jang Tae-kyeong's understanding of "Dongui Bogam". this study was able to know the fact that the emergence of such medical books was possible because the medical knowledge included in "Dongui Bogam" was fully understood and digested in society of the Josen Dynasty. Conclusively, such a fact reminds us that it serves as a momentum to confirm once more that "Dongui Bogam" could be a good model for even today's clinical treatment.

  • As needs for knowledge on Korean history and the attention of the people are rapidly increasing, various smartphone applications for learning the history have appeared during recent years. These applications provide multiple choice questions to users through their own problem banks. But, since these questions are selected from the fixed set of problems that are stored previously, the learning efficiency of users is inevitably decreased when they use the applications repeatedly. In this paper, we present a question generation system named K-History which generates multiple choice questions in an automatic way using the database on the history of Korea. In addition, we also describe the development of the application Korean History Infinite Challenge as a learning application for Korean history. To develop K-History, we classify typical types of learning problems through various problems based on Korean history learning materials, proposing algorithms to generate problems according to the types found. Through the developed techniques, various learning systems can reduce the cost for creating questions, while increasing the learning efficiency of users.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to find gender distinctions in terms of the sociology of the population; to determine work-related factors; to analyze gender differences in daily living, work, sports, and art performances; and to identify gender-related factors that limited performance of daily living and work activities. Methods: A questionnaire was designed that included disabilities of the arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH), accident history, disease history, work duration at current workplace, marital status, job satisfaction, job autonomy, and physical demands of the job. Out of 1,853 workers surveyed, 1,173 questionnaires (63.3%; 987 males, 186 females) included responses to DASH disability and DASH optional work and were judged acceptable for analysis. Results: Upper extremity functional limitation during work and daily living was higher for females than males. The limitations for males increased according to their household work time, accident history, work duration, job satisfaction, physical demand, and job autonomy. Meanwhile, female workers' upper extremity discomfort was influenced by their disease history, job satisfaction, and physical demands. In addition, the size of the company affected male workers' upper extremity function, while marriage and hobbies influenced that of female workers. Conclusion: This study addressed sociodemographic factors and work-related factors that affect each gender's upper extremity function during daily living and working activities. Each factor had a different influence. Further studies are needed to identify the effect that role changes, not being influenced by risks at work, have on musculoskeletal disorders.

  • A demand on the spatial data management has been rapidly increased with the introduction and diffusion process of ITS, Telematics, and Wireless Sensor Network, and many different people use the digital map that offers various thematic spatial data. Spatial data for digital map can manage to tile-based and feature-based data. The existing tile-based digital map management systems have difficult problems of data construction, history management, and updating based on a spatial object. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposed the data model for the feature-based digital map management system that is designed for feature-based seamless map, history management, real-time updating of spatial data, and analyzed the validity and utility of the proposed model.

  • The Nannophya species in Korea was thought to consist of only Nannophya pygmaea. Previous studies on the species, including life history and development, conservation and restoration, habitat characteristics, genetic studies, distribution, behavior, and taxonomy have been conducted. However, a new Nannophya species, Nannophya koreana, was recently discovered in Korea. Moreover, this new species was found to inhabit both Korea and Japan. Thus, the previous studies should be reevaluated in relation to the new species, Nannophya koreana, and the latter should be treated as an endangered species worldwide given the current population instability.
