  • Obviously the speed of dissemination of new, modern ideas in Jiangnan was closely related to the development of transportation. Looking back at the history, the backwardness of transportation in the early modern Jiangnan restrict the dissemination of new ideas in this region and then the situation changed a lot since the 1890s, when the spatial distance between Shanghai and Jiangnan was remarkably shortened, the dissemination of new ideas was accelerated, and the new ideas in return significantly influenced the Jiangnan society. It was the constantly improved transportation that facilitated the diversification of channels disseminating information and made the dissemination itself faster. As a consequence, the new ideas, knowledge, and things were rapidly disseminated and popularized in Jiangnan, thereby giving impetus to the social changes in this region.

  • The Korean Archaeological Dictionary, which represents Korean archaeological knowledge information, contains refined and high-quality information written by expert collective intelligence. This is a characteristic that clearly distinguishes it from overseas archaeological data archives, and can be called differentiated infrastructure data. However, it has not played a role as an information service or knowledge information platform reflecting the latest digital technology. As a way to maximize these strengths and compensate for weaknesses, it was proposed to develop and operate a GIS-based knowledge and information platform for Korean archaeology. To realize this, it is necessary to develop a title management system centered on repositories and metadata that can collect and store various information, link open linked data design and related systems, develop a search function that can analyze and visualize data in response to the big data era, and establish a WebGIS-based information service system. This will be a platform to continuously manage, supplement, and update Korean archaeological knowledge information, build a ubiquitous environment where anyone can use information anytime, anywhere, and create various types of business models.

  • Objectives : Treatment method using drugs has already been used in Korean medicine for a long time. Moreover, database has been developed and utilized for more efficient management of the treatments that use drugs. Most of such database related to knowledge on drugs is composed of origin, efficacy, temperament, ingredients and examples of application of the standardized drugs. Communication with knowledge information in other specialized areas is also accomplished by using the efficacies and ingredients with the drugs. In this study, we aimed to make data structure of the terminologies that represent the manufacturing process of herbs. However, in spite of the fact that the manufacturing process of the drugs imparts effect on their efficacies and ingredients, details of the manufacturing processes are quite limited to simple text sentences, thereby resulting in substantially lower level of utilization and difficulties in systematic researches on various factors included in the manufacturing processes in comparison to other knowledge on drugs. Methods : This Study extracted the factors necessary in the development of database by executing morphological analysis of the manufacturing process of herbs. Results : The factors are 'Order', 'Act', 'Raw material', 'Tools', 'Supporting materials', 'Intensity', 'Duration Time', 'Interval', 'Focus', 'Repetition Number', 'Untill'. We were able to tell the difference of the manufacturing process with a simple structured query language and the factors. Conclusions : Morphological analysis of medicinal herbs manufacturing Process contributes to standardization with information of the manufacturing process. And it helps to creates a quality management system through the Database.

  • We have known that ethno-mathematics is a field of a study that emphasizes the socio-cultural environment in which a person "does" mathematics as stated by D'Ambrosio(Ethno mathematics and its Place in the History and Pedagogy of Mathematics, 1985). Measurement is an important mathematical topic, which leads students to relate math to the eal-world applications, particularly with socio-cultural aspects. The purpose of this article is to review the history of the measurement system in Korea briefly and to adapt the measurement system into real-world problems so that children acquire measurement knowledge in the most natural way.

  • Cervical cancer is caused by HPV infection and can be prevented by early vaccination. Objective: To assess Syrian women's level of knowledge and determinants of good knowledge of cervical cancer, HPV infection and its vaccines. Methods: A cross sectional survey was undertaken among mothers with daughters in sixth grade classes enrolled in primary schools in Aleppo city, Syria. Samples were selected through cluster sampling and data collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Results: Less than a third of the mothers had heard of HPV infection and vaccines against cervical cancer and levels of knowledge were generally low. Good knowledge was associated with high education level, higher family monthly income, having few - less than four children, positive history of cervical cancer screening, and working or having relatives working in the medical field. The main source of information was television and few reported health care providers as a source of knowledge on HPV infection and vaccine. Conclusion: Since knowledge of HPV infection and its connection with cervical cancer and its vaccine are low, more efforts must be made to educate Syrians prior to introduction of any HPV vaccination programme. Public health efforts must focus on educating mothers, the public as well as health care providers.

  • We assumed that natural history museums have rooms for functioning as institutions for the environmental education, especially in aspects of multi-disciplinary, informal education. So we set goals of this research as finding 1) how much environmental education contents are reflected in exhibits of natural history museums, and 2) what those characteristics in aspects of dimension, range, and topic are. First, we developed a framework for analyzing of environmental education contents. Second, we applied the framework to seven major natural history museums. As the result, environmental education contents are reflected by 69.1% totally. Especially, the 'knowledge' dimension covered mostly, and among them the range of 'elements of Ecosystem' occupied more than other ranges. With inferring our results, we suggested that characteristics of natural history museums in environmental education are followed; spatial-temporal expansion of bio-diversity concept, visualizing impacts of human activity against nature.
