In this paper, we introduce a new topology of Radial Basis Function-based Polynomial Neural Networks (RPNN) that is based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron with Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). This study offers a comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of optimization algorithms, especially Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms. In contrast to the typical architectures encountered in Polynomial Neural Networks (PNNs), our main objective is to develop a design strategy of RPNNs as follows : (a) The architecture of the proposed network consists of Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). In here, the RPN is fully reflective of the structure encountered in numeric data which are granulated with the aid of Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method. The RPN dwells on the concepts of a collection of radial basis function and the function-based nonlinear (polynomial) processing. (b) The PSO-based design procedure being applied at each layer of RPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes of the network (RPNs) whose local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, a collection of the specific subset of input variables, the order of the polynomial, and the number of clusters as well as a fuzzification coefficient in the FCM clustering) can be easily adjusted. The performance of the RPNN is quantified through the experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarks - NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant and learning machine data(Automobile Miles Per Gallon Data) already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling. A comparative analysis reveals that the proposed RPNN exhibits higher accuracy and superb predictive capability in comparison to some previous models available in the literature.
L. Carlitz introduced higher order degenerate Euler polynomials in [4, 5] and studied a degenerate Staudt-Clausen theorem in [4]. D. S. Kim and T. Kim gave some formulas and identities of degenerate Euler polynomials which are derived from the fermionic p-adic integrals on ${\mathbb{Z}}_p$ (see [9]). In this paper, we introduce higher order degenerate Genocchi polynomials. And we give some formulas and identities of degenerate Genocchi polynomials which are derived from the fermionic p-adic integrals on ${\mathbb{Z}}_p$.
In this paper a new shape reconstruction method that allows us to construct surface models from very large sets of points is presented. In this method the global domain of interest is divided into smaller domains where the problem can be solved locally. These local solutions of subdivided domains are blended together according to weighting coefficients to obtain a global solution using partition of unity function. The suggested approach gives us considerable flexibility in the choice of local shape functions which depend on the local shape complexity and desired accuracy. At each domain, a quadratic polynomial function is created that fits the points in the domain. If the approximation is not accurate enough, other higher order functions including cubic polynomial function and RBF(Radial Basis Function) are used. This adaptive selection of local shape functions offers robust and efficient solution to a great variety of shape reconstruction problems.
In this paper, we propose Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks(FPNN) based on Polynomial Neural Networks(PNN) and Fuzzy Neural Networks(FNN) for model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. The proposed FPNN is generated from the mutually combined structure of both FNN and PNN. The one and the other are considered as the premise part and consequence part of FPNN structure respectively. As the consequence part of FPNN, PNN is based on Group Method of Data Handling(GMDH) method and its structure is similar to Neural Networks. But the structure of PNN is not fixed like in conventional Neural Networks and self-organizing networks that can be generated. FPNN is available effectively for multi-input variables and high-order polynomial according to the combination of FNN with PNN. Accordingly it is possible to consider the nonlinearity characteristics of process and to get better output performance with superb predictive ability. As the premise part of FPNN, FNN uses both the simplified fuzzy inference as fuzzy inference method and error back-propagation algorithm as learning rule. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. And we use two kinds of FNN structure according to the division method of fuzzy space of input variables. One is basic FNN structure and uses fuzzy input space divided by each separated input variable, the other is modified FNN structure and uses fuzzy input space divided by mutually combined input variables. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed models, we use the nonlinear function and traffic route choice process. The results show that the proposed FPNN can produce the model with higher accuracy and more robustness than any other method presented previously. And also performance index related to the approximation and prediction capabilities of model is evaluated and discussed.

In this paper, we introduce a new topology of Self-Organizing Polynomial Neural Networks (SOPNN) based on genetically optimized Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) and discuss its comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization. Let us recall that the design of the 'conventional' SOPNN uses the extended Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) technique to exploit polynomials as well as to consider a fixed number of input nodes at polynomial neurons (or nodes) located in each layer. However, this design process does not guarantee that the conventional SOPNN generated through learning results in optimal network architecture. The design procedure applied in the construction of each layer of the SOPNN deals with its structural optimization involving the selection of preferred nodes (or PNs) with specific local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, the order of the polynomials, and input variables) and addresses specific aspects of parametric optimization. An aggregate performance index with a weighting factor is proposed in order to achieve a sound balance between the approximation and generalization (predictive) abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the GA-based SOPNN, the model is experimented using pH neutralization process data as well as sewage treatment process data. A comparative analysis indicates that the proposed SOPNN is the model having higher accuracy as well as more superb predictive capability than other intelligent models presented previously.reviously.

In this paper, a fuzzy model based on the Polynomial Neural Network(PNN) structure is proposed to estimate the emission pattern for air pollutant in power plants. the new algorithm uses PNN algorithm based on Group Mehtod of Data Handling (GMDH) algorithm and fuzzy reasoning in order to identify the premise structure and parameter of fuzzy implications rules, and the least square method in order to identify the optimal consequence parameters. Both time series data for the gas furnace and data for the NOx emission process of gas turbine power plants are used for the purpose of evaluating the performance of the fuzzy model. The simulation results show that the proposed technique can produce the optimal fuzzy model with higher accuracy and feasibility than other works achieved previously.
A higher order analytical solution for static analysis of a truncated conical composite sandwich panel subjected to different loading conditions was presented in this paper which was based on a new improved higher order sandwich panel theory. Bending analysis of sandwich structures with flexible cores subjected to concentrated load, uniform distributed load on a patch, harmonic and uniform distributed loads on the top and/or bottom face sheet of the sandwich structure was also investigated. For the first time, bending analysis of truncated conical composite sandwich panels with flexible cores was performed. The governing equations were derived by principle of minimum potential energy. The first order shear deformation theory was used for the composite face sheets and for the core while assuming a polynomial description of the displacement fields. Also, the in-plane hoop stresses of the core were considered. In order to assure accuracy of the present formulations, convergence of the results was examined. Effects of types of boundary conditions, types of applied loads, conical angles and fiber angles on bending analysis of truncated conical composite sandwich panels were studied. As, there is no research on higher order bending analysis of conical sandwich panels with flexible cores, the results were validated by ABAQUS FE code. The present approach can be linked with the standard optimization programs and it can be used in the iteration process of the structural optimization. The proposed approach facilitates investigation of the effect of physical and geometrical parameters on the bending response of sandwich composite structures.

In this research, a hybrid mathematical model is derived using the higher-order polynomial kinematic model in association with soft computing technique for the prediction of best fiber volume fractions and the minimal mass of the layered composite structure. The optimal values are predicted further by taking the frequency parameter as the constraint and the projected values utilized for the computation of the eigenvalue and deflections. The optimal mass of the total layered composite and the corresponding optimal volume fractions are evaluated using the particle swarm optimization by constraining the arbitrary frequency value as mass/volume minimization functions. The degree of accuracy of the optimal model has been proven through the comparison study with published well-known research data. Further, the predicted values of volume fractions are incurred for the evaluation of the eigenvalue and the deflection data of the composite structure. To obtain the structural responses i.e. vibrational frequency and the central deflections the proposed higher-order polynomial FE model adopted. Finally, a series of numerical experimentations are carried out using the optimal fibre volume fraction for the prediction of the optimal frequencies and deflections including associated structural parameter.
The existence of solutions of a class of two-point boundary value problems for higher order differential equations is studied. Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution are established. It is of interest that the nonlinearity f in the equation depends on all lower derivatives, and the growth conditions imposed on f are allowed to be super-linear (the degrees of phases variables are allowed to be greater than 1 if it is a polynomial). The results are different from known ones since we don't apply the Green's functions of the corresponding problem and the method to obtain a priori bound of solutions are different enough from known ones. Examples that can not be solved by known results are given to illustrate our theorems.
A selection experiment for reduced residual feed intake (RFI) in Yorkshire pigs consisted of a line selected for lower RFI (LRFI) and a random control line (CTRL). Longitudinal measurements of daily feed intake (DFI) and body weight (BW) from generation 5 of this experiment were used. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the use of random regression (RR) and nonlinear mixed models to predict DFI and BW for individual pigs, accounting for the substantial missing information that characterizes these data, and to evaluate the effect of selection for RFI on BW and DFI curves. Forty RR models with different-order polynomials of age as fixed and random effects, and with homogeneous or heterogeneous residual variance by month of age, were fitted for both DFI and BW. Based on predicted residual sum of squares (PRESS) and residual diagnostics, the quadratic polynomial RR model was identified to be best, but with heterogeneous residual variance for DFI and homogeneous residual variance for BW. Compared to the simple quadratic and linear regression models for individual pigs, these RR models decreased PRESS by 1% and 2% for DFI and by 42% and 36% for BW on boars and gilts, respectively. Given the same number of random effects as the polynomial RR models, i.e., two for BW and one for DFI, the non-linear Gompertz model predicted better than the polynomial RR models but not as good as higher order polynomial RR models. After five generations of selection for reduced RFI, the LRFI line had a lower population curve for DFI and BW than the CTRL line, especially towards the end of the growth period.
