Effect of seawater temperature (temperature) on the production of anchovy, Engraulis japonica and laver, Porphyra tenera Kjellman, were investigated in the eastern part of South Sea of Korea (ESS). Bimonthly temperature data (Feb., Apr., Jun., Aug., Oct., Dec.) from 1980 to 2002 were collected from Korean Oceanographic Data Center (KODC) and monthly anchovy catch and laver production from 1980 to 2002 were used from published sources by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, Korea. Effects of temperature on the two organisms were examined in four cases. In case of lower anchovy catch and higher laver production (1993), temperature during main spawning season of anchovy was about $0.2-0.6^{\circ}C$ lower than normal condition, and temperature during seed collecting season of laver in Namhaedo, Kojedo went down below $22.0^{\circ}C$. In case of higher anchovy catch and higher laver production (1995), optimum temperature for catch was formed in main fishing ground, temperature for seed collection was lower than $22.0^{\circ}C$, In case of lower anchovy catch and lower laver production (1996), temperature for spawning and catch was about $0.6-1.6^{\circ}C$ lower than normal condition, and temperature during seed collection in nursery was about $0.5-1.0^{\circ}C$ higher than optimum temperature for seed collection. In case of higher anchovy catch and lower laver production (1998), temperature during main fishing and spawning season was about $1.0-1.8^{\circ}C$ higher than normal condition, and temperature during laver seed collection in nursery was $1.5^{\circ}C$ higher than optimum temperature for seed collection.

To investigate detergency of various woven fabrics in relation to the detergents and washing temperature. cotton, polyester/cotton (p/c), nylon, acetate, and polyester were soiled in aqueous artificial ($carbon-CCl_4$) soil. Each fabric was washed with soap, alkaline and neutral synthetic detergents at $30^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$ respectively. The results obtained may be summerized as follows; 1. In soap, ascension of temperature had the most important effect upon washing efficiency and the higher the temperature was, the higher the washing efficiency was showed in all fabrics. And in case of alkaline synthetic detergent, nylon and p/c fabrics were much more difficult to clean at higher temperature and also acetate and polyester had the best efficiency at $40^{\circ}C$. Detergency of neutral detergent was good but the effect of temperature in neutral detergent was less than in soap. 2. Washing efficiency of cotton was less than that of others. 3. The higher the temperature was, the higher the washing efficiency of cotton in all detergents, and the best was in soap. In p/c, detergency of neutral detergent was good but effect of ascension of temperature was lower than in soap. In nylon, washing efficiencies of alkaline synthetic detergent and neutral detergent were excellent at 30°C but detergency of soap at $60^{\circ}C$ was best. In case of acetate, detergency of all detergents was about the same at $30^{\circ}C$ but that of soap at $60^{\circ}C$ was best. In polyester at $30^{\circ}C$, efficiency of neutral detergent was excellent but that of soap was more excellent at higher temperature and the best detergency of alkaline synthetic detergent showed at $40^{\circ}C$. In general. the higher the temperature is, the higher the washing efficiency of soap is. But when synthetic fibers of nylon and polyester are washed with synthetic detergents, washing at lower temperature is advisable.
The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of meteorological factors on sales of apparel products. Basic fiat came out daily meteorological data and sales data of apparel products in department store from 1998 to 2000. Four factors(the average temperature, rainfall, wind velocity, sunshine duration) from the nine meteorological factors were selected and were collected with Korea Meteorological Administration. Sales data were collected with business strategy department of H (department store in Seoul. The sales data were divided into six classifications, which are woman's wear, men's wear, children's wear, golf wear, sports wear, and inner wear. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Sales of apparel products were significantly correlated with the average temperature, rainfall, wind velocity, sunshine duration. Among the meteorological factors, temperature turned out to be the most influential in apparel sales and then the amount of rainfall, sunshine duration affected sales according to apparel classifications differently. 2) There were some differences among the apparel classifications in the effect of meteorological factors on the sales of apparel. In the spring. the higher the temperature was, the higher the sales of women's wear and golf wear were, but the lower the sales of children's wear, sports wear and inner wear were. In the summer, The higher the amount of rainfall was, the lower the sales of all the apparel classification were. The higher the temperature was, the higher the sales of sports wear were. In the fall, the lower the temperature was, the higher the sales of all the apparel classification except snorts wear were. In the winter, the meteorological factors had little effect on the sales of women's wear, men's wear and children's wear. The higher the temperature was, the higher the sales of golf wear were. The lower the temperature was, the higher the sales of sports wear were.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the thermally different states of human feet on temperature regulation in winter season. Five healthy female students of age 20 volunteered as subjects to participate in the study. Physiological responses such as rectal temperature and skin temperatures as well as subjective responses of thermal comfort and thermal sensation were observed. Preferred clothing and preferred temperature were also evaluated in terms of behavioral temperature regulation. The results obtained through the experiment were statistically analyzed using paired t test. Rectal temperature was decreased greater (p<.01) and mean skin temperature was maintained higher (p<.01) in feet wanning than in feet cooling. Results of preferred clothing were coincident with those of general thermal sensation. There was a higher tendency to prefer temperature in feet wanning than feet cooling in the morning. It was concluded that keeping feet skin temperature lower in the early morning and higher in the late evening would be effective in terms of regulating circadian rhythm of core temperature.
Purpose: To investigate the temperature-based differences of cortical bone ultrashort echo time MRI (UTE-MRI) biomarkers between body and room temperatures. Investigations of ex vivo UTE-MRI techniques were performed mostly at room temperature however, it is noted that the MRI properties of cortical bone may differ in vivo due to the higher temperature which exists as a condition in the live body. Materials and Methods: Cortical bone specimens from fourteen donors ($63{\pm}21$ years old, 6 females and 8 males) were scanned on a 3T clinical scanner at body and room temperatures to perform T1, $T2^*$, inversion recovery UTE (IR-UTE) $T2^*$ measurements, and two-pool magnetization transfer (MT) modeling. Results: Single-component $T2^*$, $IR-T2^*$, short and long component $T2^*s$ from bi-component analysis, and T1 showed significantly higher values while the noted macromolecular fraction (MMF) from MT modeling showed significantly lower values at body temperature, as compared with room temperature. However, it is noted that the short component fraction (Frac1) showed higher values at body temperature. Conclusion: This study highlights the need for careful consideration of the temperature effects on MRI measurements, before extending a conclusion from ex vivo studies on cortical bone specimens to clinical in vivo studies. It is noted that the increased relaxation times at higher temperature was most likely due to an increased molecular motion. The T1 increase for the studied human bone specimens was noted as being significantly higher than the previously reported values for bovine cortical bone. The prevailing discipline notes that the increased relaxation times of the bound water likely resulted in a lower signal loss during data acquisition, which led to the incidence of a higher Frac1 at body temperature.

An intensive observing period (IOP) of heatwaves in the urban region of Seoul in the summer of 2023 was carried out to understand the changes in air temperature and road temperature induced by environmental conditions. The temperature observed at eight points with different urban environmental conditions was compared with the temperature by the KMA/AWS to analyze the characteristics of change in air temperature by height and the change in road temperature according to environmental conditions and road sprinkler. The comparison of the average temperature observed in different urban environmental conditions with the temperature observed at KMA/AWS showed that the air temperature in asphalt and open space sites was 0.7 to 2.3℃ higher and that the one in bus stops was 0.9 to 2.3℃ higher. In terms of temperature deviations depending on residential type, the temperature in highly populated areas was about 0.1 to 0.8℃ higher than that of apartment complexes. In addition, regardless of the size of a park, the temperature in the park was lower than the temperature in dense housing areas and apartment complexes. In asphalt and residential areas, the road temperature was higher than the temperature at a height of 150 cm, Conversely, road temperature was lower than air temperature in a shaded shelter and large park. In addition, after spraying a surface road, the road temperature immediately dropped by about 3 to 4℃; however, after about 20 minutes, it rose again to the previous road temperature. This change in road temperature appeared only for the temperature of 30 cm height.

This study was done to investigate thermal reponses and to obtain the basic information of thermal comfort by sex and posture under the Ondol heating system. Six healthy males and females were exposed to Ondol(Room Temp.: 25$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 50$\pm$10%R.H, Floor Temp.:30$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$) on the of posture such as sitting, lying aside and supine on the floor for 30 minutes after 30 minutes' control phase. During the experiment, rectal temperature, skin temperature of 10 areas, local sweating rate, clothing microclimate, subjective sensation were measured. Rectal temperature gradually decreased and mean skin temperature grad-ually increased both male and female in any posture. There was not significant difference between male and female in rectal temperature and mean skin temperature. There were significant difference among the postures in rectal temperature(p<0.001) and mean skin temperature(p<0.001). In lying aside and supine on the floor, appearances of change and changes in rectal temperature and mean skin temperature were large, changes of weight were small. In sitting on the floor, appearances of change and changes in rectal temperature and mean skin temperature were small, changes of weight were large. The trunk skin tem-perature was higher in female than in male, but the extremity skin temperature was higher in male than in female. In sitting on the floor, foot skin temperature(p<0.001) was higher than any other local skin temperature. In supine on the floor, back skin temperature(p<0.001) was higher than any other local skin temperature.

This paper is studied an efficient temperature distribution and heat transfer of two-dimensional rectangular cross-section by the higher-order triangular finite dynamic element and finite difference. This is achieved by employing a discretization technique based on a recently developed concept of finite dynamic elements, involving higher order dynamic correction terms in the associated stiffness and convection matrices. Numerical solution results of temperature distribution presented herein clearly optimum element and show that FEM10 is the most accurate temperature distribution, but heat transfer and computational effort is the most acquired.

Even in modern times, we are accustomed to the lifestyle of floor heating system in which the floor is heated for warmth like Ondol, which is the traditional Korean heating system. So, this study was designed to understand the preferred floor temperature through the questionnaires targeting the local residents living in K region. This study would also find out the floor temperature which is preferred by young people and old people through the experiments. The findings are as follows; (1) the old people do not prefer the temperature higher than young people do. It was found that the old people prefer the floor temperature of $40^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ or the floor temperature of $41^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. (2) Both young people and old people tend to like the average skin temperature of $35.5^{\circ}C$. The skin temperature which both young and old people like was $35.2^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $24^{\circ}C$ and the skin temperature preferred by young people was $0.4^{\circ}C$ higher than that preferred by under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ (p<0.01). (3) It was found in the questionnaires that the young people prefer the higher floor temperature in terms of age and that the people who get older in their 50s or higher tend to prefer the lower temperature.
Influence of increased temperature on the standard metabolism in three species of marine bivalves, Crassostrea gigas, Ruditapes philippinarum and Mytilus edulis, acclimated to seasonal water temperatures and collected from the south coast of Korea, were examined in the laboratory. The standard oxygen consumption and filtration rates in the 3 species were measured respectively at the experimental temperature, 4, 7 and 10$^{\circ}C$ or 3, 6 and 9$^{\circ}C$ higher than the mean seasonal water temperature. When the experimental temperatures were higher than the seasonal water temperature, the rates of C. gigas decreased in autumn and spring, and increased In winter, while there was thermal stress in summer. The rates of R. philippinarum increased in spring when the experimental temperatures were 3$^{\circ}C$ and 6$^{\circ}C$ higher than the seasonal water temperature, but the rates increased in autumn and winter when the experimental temperature was even 9$^{\circ}C$ higher than the seasonal water temperature. In summer. metabolic activities of R. philippinarum decreased significantly at temperature higher than acclimation temperature. The rates of M. edulis increased in spring when the experimental temperatures were 3$^{\circ}C$ higher than the seasonal water temperature but the rates were stressed by the increased temperature above 3$^{\circ}C$. In winter, increased temperature did not affect the metabolic activities of M. edulis. These results suggested that the standard metabolism of the three marine bivalves in summer was stressed by the increased temperature, whereas the metabolism was activated in winter.
