Project Approach in the Organization of Scientific and Methodological Work by Applying Information Technology in Higher Education Institutions

  • The article is devoted to studying the development of scientific and methodological work and its impact on the quality of students' vocational training in higher pedagogical education institutions by applying information technology. The article aim is to development of the organizational methodological support and pedagogical diagnostics of the effectiveness of the project «Modelling scientific and methodological work in a higher education pedagogical institution by applying information technology » realization in the framework of increasing the level of scientific and methodological work in a higher education pedagogical institution as a factor contributing to enhancing the quality of pedagogical education. The research program of the project activity envisages stating and substantiating the problem of scientific and methodological work by applying information technology in the framework of increasing the level and quality of educational activities in a higher pedagogical education institution through the implementation of the project approach, developing a model for the system of organizational and methodological support of the project implementation as well as monitoring the process and evaluating the results of the project implementation in terms of developing teachers' scientific, methodological, information competency and enhancing students' progress in studying. The set of criteria were developed to evaluate the level of formation of scientific and methodological competency as a result of implementing the project for the development of scientific and methodological work. The scientific and methodological work by applying information technology in the academy was carried out in accordance with the following principles: systematic character, consistent diagnostics, practical focus, scientific organizational and methodological support.

The Impact of Extrinsic Work Factors on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment at Higher Education Institutions in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the link between job satisfaction and organizational commitment at higher education institutions (HEIs) in emerging countries such as Vietnam and to determine extrinsic work factors that influence job satisfaction. Higher education is critical for socio-economic growth and the overall development of each country. Hence, an understanding of what motivates employees' actions and attitudes should be obtained before determining the extent of employee satisfaction. The conceptual model was developed by incorporating job satisfaction-related variables, their relationships, and the impact of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. An empirical study was conducted on a study sample of public and private universities, with 316 academics and non-academic employees surveyed. The current study employed the partial least squares structural equation modeling to test the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal a positive and significant relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings confirm that extrinsic work factors (job itself, supervision, working conditions, payment, and reward and recognition) have a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction. Furthermore, the study indicates that employees at HEIs who have a high level of ability utilization and supervisor support are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze demands of education training about copyright for Infant and early childhood education institutions. This study investigated demands of education training about copyright for infant and early childhood education institutions targeting 248 directors and teachers. Using a questionnaire, research data was analyzed using the program spss. Demands of education training about copyright for infant and early childhood education institutions appeared differently depending on education institution type, position, education career, etc. copyright training topics include the highest demands for understanding of the copyright associated with the work of the early childhood education. Training contents had higher demands for using typeface(font) and video material. So these results reported that directors and teachers require copyright education relating to the work of Early childhood education. The results of this study suggest the implications for developing and implementing copyright training programs for Infant and Early childhood education institutions.

  • Mobile devices have become attractive learning devices for education. The digitalization of the higher education system in Sri Lanka by 2020 is part of the government's effort to modernize and enhance the country's overall education system particularly in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Theoretically, this study contributes to the M-Learning model in higher education institutions via the integration of literature on technology adoption (TAM and UTAUT) with the variables of Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Condition. The attitude towards M-Learning amongst higher education students was gauged via an online questionnaire survey. The convenience sample comprised 344 students from the Advanced Technological Institutes (ATI) in Batticaloa District, Sri Lanka. Descriptive statistics, a measurement, and structural model, and hypotheses testing were used to analyze the derived data. The findings indicate that mobile learning is significantly affected by perceived ease of use, social influence, effort expectancy, and facilitating condition, but negatively affected by attitude and perceived usefulness. The exhaustive literature review revealed that there are very few M-Learning studies related to digital learning in the context of higher education in the Batticaloa district.

  • Purpose: Brand community in higher education institutions comes up as an important topic to be discussed because the relationships among consumers can support the institutional brand and ultimately give meaning and vitality to the market-oriented strategy. This study aims to investigate how the literature on brand community in higher education have been distributed in research trends, theoretical frameworks, and methods. Research design, data and methodology: A total of 24 articles were organized from four reputable international databases. Content analysis were performed followed by synthesis toward potential directions and suggestions. Results: The researches in this area have increasingly focused on online interaction. Social identity theory and relationship theory were the two most prevalent theories used. Since the internet provides any social relationship with a specific relationship to form the brand community, its contextualization in higher education resulted in new concept implementation. Conclusions: The relationship within online participati on has impacted the market-oriented strategy of higher education in searching for ways toward a long-term and enduring bond among students, alumni, institutions and brands. As there is a plenteous prospect of data availability combined with big data analysis technology, the online participation will pique the interest of scholars to conduct further research on it.

  • Knowledge has become a primary source of competitiveness, and knowledge workers, people whose jobs require formal and advanced schooling, are one of the fastest growing groups in workforce. With the rise of a knowledge-based economy, higher education has been increasingly emphasized in economic development. Colleges and universities have recently added translation of research into products and new enterprises to their educational functions while companies have increased their external links to keep pace with rapidly changing and increasingly complex business environments. These changes have strengthened the role of colleges and universities in industrial innovation which is a key to economic development. This research reviews characteristics of U.S. higher education and development of interactions between higher education institutions and companies in the U.S. The case of IT industries, where U.S. has a competitive edge, provides specific examples and implications. Four major routes of interactions between higher education institutions and companies are suggested to provide a research framework for future studies in this area.

  • The article discusses the features of the use of distance technologies to intensify the learning process of students. The advantages and disadvantages of distance learning are shown. The role and functions of the teacher in distance learning have been adjusted. Information and methodological support for distance learning of students is proposed.   • This study aims to establish a development strategy for higher education in Indonesia's marine and fisheries sector and to present a direction for international development cooperation through evaluating policies and current problems related to higher education in marine and fisheries sector. To achieve the goals of human resources development in marine and fisheries sector, Indonesian government needs to secure non-salary expenditures to strengthen support for areas directly related to the effects of education, such as improving educational facilities, expanding scholarships, and so on. Education institution needs to develop effective teaching methods and systematic practice-based curriculum that reflects the needs of the local fishermen community and fisheries industry. In addition, it is necessary to support the supply of manpower throughout the fisheries industry. Fisheries industry needs to stop relying on the government or education institutions to secure excellent human resources and actively participate and cooperate in the education field so that excellent human resources can flow into the industry. Based on this strategy, international development cooperation for human resources development in Indonesia's marine and fisheries sector should focus on qualitative rather than quantitative expansion of higher education institutions.

  • The purposes of this study are to understand the international competitiveness of modern higher education and to search the tasks for strengthening international competitiveness of Korean higher education. I reviewed domestic and foreign trends for higher education and then analyzed the statistical status of Korea's higher education. And I proposed tasks for strengthening international competitiveness of Korean higher education. These included university specialization from an international perspective, securing excellent research resources, revitalizing international education cooperation, fair quality management of higher education institutions, learner-centered higher education reform. Subsequently it is necessary to systematically select the factors of international competitiveness of higher education and to propose concrete plans for improving international competitiveness of higher education.

  • Globalization of higher education deepens the competition in the global educational services market. Competition between higher education institutions is based on the use of a wide range of activities and tools that are constantly evolving and becoming more complex. Digitalization significantly transforms the approaches to competition between universities in educational, research and marketing activities. Digital technologies are becoming an integral part of this competition. In addition, in the current conditions of globalization of the scientific and educational space, numerous rankings of universities have become an important tool of the competition; the most significant rankings of universities are as follows: Academic Ranking of World Universities (China), Times Higher Education Rankings of Universities (Great Britain), Webometrics (Spain). In the article, the key principles of the formation of world rankings of universities are analyzed, the main sources of information resources for their compilation are determined. The authors have concluded that the improvement of the position of educational institutions in the world rankings of universities should be implemented within the framework of the state educational policy. The key positive effects of universities due to increasing the competitiveness level of the national higher education system are specified.
