승온중 수소 분위기 제어에 의한 선택적 Si 에피텍시 성장 (Selective Si Epitaxial Growth by Control of Hydrogen Atmosphere During Heating-up)

  • we proposed the use of $Si_2H_ 6/H_2$ chemistry for selective silicon epitaxy growth by low-pressure chemical vapor deposition(LPCVD) in the temperature range $600~710^{\circ}C$ under an ultraclean environment. As a result of ultraclean processing, an incubation period of Si deposition only on $SiO_2$ was found, and low temperature epitaxy selective deposition on Si was achieved without addition of HCI. Total gas flow rate and deposition pressure were 16.6sccm and 3.5mtorr, respectively. In this condition, we selectively obtained high-quality epitaxial Si layers of the 350~1050$\AA$ thickness. In older to extend the selectivity, we kept high pressure $H_2$ environment without $Si_2H_6$ gas for few minutes after first incubation period and then we conformed the existence of second incubation period.

참나무 크라프트 리그닌과 볏짚 아세토솔브 리그닌의 열-화학적 분해에 의한 방향족(Aromatic)과 지방족(Aliphatic)화합물의 합성 (Synthesis of Aromatic and Aliphatic Compound from Kraft Oak Lignin and Acetosolve Straw Lignin by Thermochemical Liquefaction)

  • Kraft oak lignin and ricestraw lignin from acetosolve pulping were dissolved in 50/50 mixture of tetralin/m-cresol solvent. The dissolved lignin was reacted in the pressurized autoclave which was operating at $350{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ of reaction temperature and 10~20 atms of reaction pressure respectively_Hydrogen pressure of 60~80kg/$cm^2$ was exercising into the pressurized autoclave reactor to create thermochemical hydrogenolysis reaction. It was identified by GLC, GC-MS and HPLC that the alkyl-aryl-${\beta}$-O-4 ether bond of lignin was cleaved and degraded into various smaller molecules of aromatic compound such as phenols and cresols under the reaction conditions around $300^{\circ}C$ and 10 atms of reaction temoerature and pressure. Hydrogenolysis reaction of lignin compound which was done above $500^{\circ}C$ of reaction temperature and 20 atms of reaction pressure showed that the amount of aromatic compound such as phenols and cresols degraded from reactant lignin was decreasing with newly present and increasing water out of product mixtures. It was supposed that new aliphatic compound of high molecular weight hydrocarbon is composed due to higher reaction temperature and pressure of hydrogenolysis reaction such as $500^{\circ}C$ and 20 atms, even though it was almost impossible, to identify what kind of degraded products it was by HPLC.

Physiological Activities of Thiacremonone Produced in High Temperature and High Pressure Treated Garlic

  • To examine the possibility of using thiacremonone isolated from high-temperature-high-pressure treated garlic, this study investigated the physiological activities properties. The $IC_{50}$ values of hydroxyl, superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, and nitric oxide radical scavenging activities of thiacremonone were 92.50, 65.05, 12.60, and $81.53{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. On the other hand, the activities of vitamin C were 104.93, 99.43, 42.42, and $122.64{\mu}g/mL$, and the activities of butylated hydroxyanisole were 37.22, 68.45, 22.47, and $40.54{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The $IC_{50}$ value of ACE inhibition activities of thiacremonone and captoprill were 0.265 and $0.036{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The $IC_{50}$ value of xanthine oxidase inhibition activities of thiacremonone and allopurinol were 39.430 and $9.346{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The $IC_{50}$ value of tyrosinase inhibition activities of thiacremonone and kojic acid were 101.931 and $65.648{\mu}g/mL$, respectively.

분사조건에 따른 가솔린 직접분사용 다공 분사기에서의 LPG 분무특성 (LPG Spray Characteristics in a Multi-hole Injector for Gasoline Direct Injection)

  • Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is regarded as an alternative fuel for spark ignition engine due to similar or even higher octane number. In addition, LPG has better fuel characteristics including high vaporization characteristic and low carbon/hydrogen ratio leading to a reduction in carbon dioxide emission. Recently, development of LPG direct injection system started to improve performance of vehicles fuelled with LPG. However, spray characteristics of LPG were not well understood, which is should be known to develop injector for LPG direct injection engines. In this study, effects of operation condition including ambient pressure, temperature, and injection pressure on spray properties of n-butane were evaluated and compared to gasoline in a multi-hole injector. As general characteristics of both fuels, spray penetration becomes smaller with an increase of ambient pressure as well as a reduction in the injection pressure. However, it is found that evaporation of n-butane was faster compared to gasoline under all experimental condition. As a result, spray penetration of n-butane was shorter than that of gasoline. This result was due to higher vapor pressure and lower boiling point of n-butane. On the other hand, spray angle of both fuels do not vary much except under high ambient temperature conditions. Furthermore, spray shape of n-butane spray becomes completely different from that of gasoline at high ambient temperature conditions due to flash boiling of n-butane.

산업단지 고압매설배관 안전관리 고찰 (A Study on the Safety Management of High Pressure Underground Pipeline in Industrial estate)

  • 1960년대에 설립된 울산 및 여수 산업단지 고압가스매설배관은 누출 시 피해가 큰 독성가스는 물론 도시가스보다 무겁고 연소범위가 낮은 가연성가스가 그물망처럼 매설사용 중에 있다. 특히, 산업단지 배관의 경우 20년 이상 노후된 배관이 과반이상으로 점유하고 있다. 이와 같이 산업단지 배관은 상주시공감리제도 도입이전에 매설설치 되었으나, 도시가스 매설배관과 달리 법적 의무 없이 자율적으로 배관관리를 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 산업단지 고압매설배관과 도시가스 매설배관의 안전관리 실태현황, 법을 비교, 피해영향범위 분석 하고 이를 산업단지 고압매설배관의 배관점검모델 마련에 활용하여 산업단지 고압매설배관의 안전성 향상에 기여하고자 한다.

탄소나노튜브 기반의 고체수소저장시스템에 관한 전산해석 (Numerical Simulation of CNTs Based Solid State Hydrogen Storage System)

  • 향후 도래할 수소경제에서 가장 유망한 기술 중에 하나인 고체수소저장 시스템들의 전체성능은 고체수소화물 내부의 열 및 물질전달 속도에 크게 영향을 받으며, 최적화된 시스템 설계를 위해서 이들에 대한 연구들이 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 Pt-CNTs 수소저장물질을 이용한 수소저장시스템에 대한 모델링 및 2차원 비정상상태 전산해석을 수행하였다. 기존 상용화된 CFD 소프트웨어를 이용하여 충전동안 발생하는 열 및 물질전달에 대한 현상들을 연구하였으며, 최적화된 수소저장시스템 설계는 고압에서 대류에 의한 냉각효과를 최대화하여 시스템 내부의 온도 상승과 충전시간 지연을 개선할 수 있음을 밝혀냈다. 아직까지 CNT 기반의 수소저장시스템에 대한 연구들이 보고되고 있지 않은 상황에서, 본 연구는 향후 CNT 기반의 고체수소저장시스템 최적 설계에 대한 방안들을 제시한다.

Zr계 라-베상 수소저장합금의 전기화학적 충·방전특성 (Electrochemical Charge and Discharge Characteristics of Zr-Based Laves Phase Hydrogen Storage Alloys)

  • To develop high capacity hydrogen storage alloys for secondary Ni/MH batteries, electrochemical charge/discharge characteristics of $Zr_{1-x}Ti_xMn_{1-y}V_yNi_{1-z}M_z$ (M=Al,Co,Fe) alloys were investigated, in which $0.2{\leq}x{\leq}0.6$, $0.2{\leq}y{\leq}0.8$, $0.2{\leq}z{\leq}0.4$. With increasing Ti content(x) and/or decreasing V content(y), lattice constants and maximum theoretical capacities of the alloys were decreased and equilibrium pressure of hydrogen absorption were increased. Electrochemical discharge capacities were increased with increasing Ti content(x). Especially, the alloys of x= 0.4~0.6 showed better charge/discharge efficiencies than those of x<0.4. Discharge capacities of $Zr_{0.4}Ti_{0.6}Mn_{0.4}V_{0.6}Ni_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}$, $Zr_{0.4}Ti_{0.6}Mn_{0.4}V_{0.6}Ni_{0.8}Al_{0.2}$ and $Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5}Mn_{0.4}V_{0.6}Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.4}$ were 385, 328 and 333mAh/g, respectively. These alloys were fully activated within five charge/discharge cycles and had a good charge and discharge rate capabilities and temperature characteristics.

Comparison of the Binding Strength of Hydrogen in Grain Near Wolsung Nuclear Power Plants

  • Because the Tissue Bound Tritium of food irradiates the organic tissues of a man during a longer time than the Tissue Free Water Tritium, we found the ratio of labile and bound hydrogen, which is the direct source of TBT concentration, in grain such as rice and barley. Tissue free water was extracted from rice and barley sampled, adjacent to Wolsung nuclear power plants of CANDU type, by freeze-drying. Tissue bound water was taken from some of the dried samples by high-pressure combustion. The other of the samples was washed by tritium-free water for 2-3 hours, and dried again by freeze-drying. Tissue bound water was taken again from some of the second dried samples by the combustion. The extracted tissue free and bound waters were distilled and TFWT and TBT concentrations of them were counted by a liquid scintillation counter. Through alternating washing, drying and combustion until the concentration of TBT would be constant, the tritium concentration existing as bound hydrogen was found. The ratios of labile and bound hydrogen of rice and barley were determined by TR concentration, initial TBT concentration and bound tritium concentration. The ratios of bound hydrogen of rice and barley were 0.55, 0.60 relatively.

화학수소화합물을 이용한 소형 무인항공기용 연료전지 시스템 연구 - I. 경량 수소 발생 및 제어 장치 (Fuel cell system for SUAV using chemical hydride - I. Lightweight hydrogen generation and control system)

  • 소형 무인항공기의 동력장치로 연료전지 시스템을 적용하기 위해 화학수소화합물 수소 저장방법을 이용한 소형 수소 발생 제어장치를 설계하였다. 효율이 높은 소형/경량 수소 발생 제어장치를 설계하기 위하여 $NaBH_4$ 수용액 공급 유량에 따른 Co-B 촉매의 수소 전환율을 확인하였고, 100W 스택의 최대 수소 발생량에 적합한 Co-B 촉매양을 제안하였다. 효율적인 연료 소모를 위해 Dead-end 방식의 스택을 선택하였고, 수소 발생 제어장치 내부 압력을 이용한 펌프 on/off 제어로 수소 생성량을 제어하였다. 소형 수소 발생 제어장치를 이용한 연료전지 시스템의 각 작동구간에서 안정된 운전을 확인하였다. 장시간 운전 실험을 통하여 최대 7시간 운전이 가능하며, 임의의 비행 프로화일에 요구되는 추력 프로화일은 최소 4시간 이상 조정 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • Interests in fuel cell based power generation systems are on the steady rise owing to various advantages such as high efficiency, ultra low emission, and potential to achieve a very high efficiency by a synergistic combination with conventional heat engines. In this study, the performance of a hybrid system which combined a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) and an indirectly fired micro gas turbine adopting carbon dioxide capture technologies was predicted. Commercialized 2.5 MW class MCFC system was used as the based system so that the result of this study could reflect practicality. Three types of ambient pressure hybrid systems were devised: one adopting post-combustion capture and two adopting oxy-combustion capture. One of the oxy-combustion based system is configured as a semi-closed type, while the other is an open cycle type. The post-combustion based system exhibited higher net power output and efficiency than the oxy-combustion based systems. However, the semi-closed system using oxy-combustion has the advantage of capturing almost all carbon dioxide.
