  • IEEE1394 standard supports both isochronous and asynchronous data transmission, thus enabling high-speed data exchange between PC and networked home electronic devices. This paper describes an implementation of Test Bed for Linux based IEEE1394 communication test. In this paper, An integrated Software was developed to test IEEE1394 communication environment. To develop the software, open source software(gscanbus, dvgrab, playdv, Xine, Kino) for the Linux environment was investigated and integrated. It was tested such as the communication among the devices, asynchronous date transmission, isochronous data transmission, and its result was successful. This integrated software has the potential to become efficient test tool for the futher development of networked home electronic devices and multimedia services.

  • Nowadays, Internet is so popular that we can easily access the remote site to search information and to communicate remote site and users. People who want to make a collaborate working environment can use JAVA, CORBA, and other internet programming tools like a Perl/XML. The mechanist are try to make the environment fur collaboration within design/manufacturing, simulation, remote sensing through TCP/IP And many industries and research institutions are working towards the agile manufacturing. This paper describes an internet-based real-Time remote monitoring system. The system consists of a hardware setup and a software interface. The hardware setup consists of a machine and its data acquisition hardware, while the software interface incorporates the data acquisition software, the server program, and the client program. The server program acts as the main interface between the data acquisition system and the internet technology. The client program is to be distributed to the remote users who want to monitor the machining status. The system has been demonstrated and verified for an industrial High-Speed Machine (HSM) especially measuring cutting force and acoustic emission. To share the signal, we make the WWW server and display its value. The system has been found to be highly efficient, reliable and accurate.

  • High Speed Uplink Packet Access(HSUPA) is a WCDMA Release 6 technology which corresponds to High Speed Downlink Packet Access(HSDPA). Node B Supports fast scheduling, Hybrid ARQ(HARQ), short Transmission Time Interval(TTI) for high rate uplink packet data. It is very important to detect Iub congestion to improve end user's Quality of Service(QoS). This paper proposes Node B Congestion Detection(BCD) mechanism and suggests to use the hybrid of Transport Network Layer(TNL) congestion detection and BCD. It is shown that HSUPA user throughput performance can be improved by the proposed method even with small Iub bandwidth.

  • In the total artificial heart(TAH), a transcutaneous information transmission system(TITS) is vely important to monitor the TAH status and detect the device failure, and repair the possible problems. First of all, the communication channel(skin) and method were simulated in terms of transmittance, scattering, reflection and absorption, then the system was designed with size reduction including low power consumption and reliability compared to the previous one. The informations are transmitted through the skin(approximately 1cm in depth) by frequency modulated near infrared(NIR) pulses using 780nm laser diodes as transmitters and photodiode as receiver with high speed and high spectral sensitivity. The logic high and low frequencies are 3MHz, 1MHz respectively. The system is a bidirectional data link for more than 38.4Kbps data rate, full-duplex with a bit error rate of less than $10^{-5}$.

  • In this paper, a transceiver of VLC (Visible Light Communication) using LED white lighting has been implemented. We analyzed differences between conventional wireless communication and VLC with high-speed data transmission in a variety of environments, and confirmed symbols which passed through a channel using QAM. In order to get a high data rate, we found some variables that should be considered essentially though experiments. In addition, we set a bandwidth and found an optimal gain according to the distance between transmitter and receiver. We analyzed proposed system model through Labview and finally showed a system performance and to efficient data transmission and detection for VLC, we apply the orthogonal sequences to VLC system.

  • In this paper, a 155/311 Mb/s MUX/DEMUX chip using ECL macrocell away has been developed with a single device. This device for a 2.5 Gb/s SDH based transmission system is to interleave the parallel data of 51 Mb/s into 155 Mb/s(or 311 Mb/s) serial data output, and is to interleave a serial input bit stream of 155 Mb/s(or 311 Mb/s) into the parallel output of 51 Mb/s. The input and output of the device ate TTL compatible at the low-speed end, but 100k ECL compatible at the high-speed end. The device has been fabricated with Motorola ETL3200 macrocell away The fabricated chip shows the typical phase margin of 180 degrees and output data skew less than 220ps at the high-speed end.

  • The IEEE 1394 High Speed Serial Bus is a versatile, high-performance, and low-cost method of promoting interoperability between all types of A/V and computing devices. IEEE 1394 provides two transfer modes: asynchronous mode for best effort service and isochronous mode for best effort service with bandwidth reservation. This paper shows the bus performance and compared the transfer odes first at the link level and then at the application level. For the application level performance, we analyze the bus systems with fixed and adaptive interfaces, applied between the upper layer and the 1394 layer, using polling systems. Also we verifies the analysis models with simulation studies. Based on our analysis, we conclude that the adaptive interface reduces the bus access time and so increases the bus utilization.

  • A variety of intelligent application using the sensor network system is being studied. In general, the sensor network consists of nodes which equipped with a variety of sensing module and is utilized to collect environment information. Recently, the demands of multimedia data are increasing due to the demands of more detailed environmental monitoring or high-quality data. In this paper, we overcome the limitations of low bandwidth in Zigbee-based sensor networks and propose a routing algorithm for real-time multimedia data transmission. In the previously proposed algorithm for multimedia data transmission occurs delay time of routing setup phase and has a low data transmission speed due to bandwidth limitations of Zigbee. In this paper, we propose the hybrid routing algorithm that consist of Zigbee and Bluetooth and solve the bandwidth problem of existing algorithm. We also propose the disjointed multipath setup algorithm based on competition that overcome delay time of routing setup phase in existing algorithm. To evaluate the superiority of the proposed algorithm, we compare it with the existing algorithm. Our experimental results show that the latency was reduced by approximately 78% and the communication speed is increased by approximately 6.9-fold.

  • The downlink data rates of the space-born payloads such as high-resolution optical cameras, synthetic aperture radars (SAR) and hyper-spectral sensors are being rapidly increased. For example, the image transmission rates of KOMPSAT-2 MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) is 320Mbps even if on-board image compression scheme is used.[1] In the near future, the data rates are expected to be a level 500${\sim}$600Mbps because the required resolution will be higher and the swath width will be increased. This paper describes many techniques they enable 500Mbps data receiving and archiving system.
