WiBro (Wireless Broadband Internet) system is going to be commercialized before long. The high portable internet system is abie to be connected to the high-speed internet using 2.3 CHz frequency bandwidth, anytime and anywhere. An effective scheduling for UCS, rtPS. nrtPS and BE requiring different QoS, which are service types of the WiBro, is necessary to increase the efficiency of radio channels that arc the limiting resource. This paper researches an uplink scheduling that plays a role in assignment for the radio channels from subscribers to base stations. The suggested scheduling provides priorities With each service type considering QoS of them but reserves some bandwidth for lower priory services. After deciding effective amount of bandwidth for reservation, we suggest analytical result on mean delayed time of packet transmission for each terminal, transmission rate for the data, and capacity for uplink. This research can be used as basic data for the standard in the high portable internet system and as data to predict the capacity of base stations.
For pneumatic system control, we need a data transmission system with high speed and high reliability or information interchange between main computer and solenoid valves and I/O devices. This paper presents a set of design techniques for a data communication system that is mainly used for pneumatic system control. For this purpose, we first designed hardware modules for an interface between central control module and local node that handles the operation of solenoid valves. In addition we developed a communication protocol for construction of RS-485 based multidrop network, and this protocol is basically designed with a kind of polling technique. Finally we evaluated performance of the developed system. The field test results show that, even under high noise environment, the data transmission of 375Kbps rate is possible up to 1,000m without using repeater. In addition, the system developed in this research is proved to be used easily for extension of a communication network because of its module structure.

With recent advancement of high-speed, multi-gigabit data transmission capabilities, serial links have been more widely adopted in industry than parallel links. Since the parallel link design forces its transmitter to transmit both the data and the clock to the receiver at the same time, it leads to hardware's intricacy during high-speed data transmission, large power consumption, and high cost. Meanwhile, the serial links allows the transmitter to transmit data only with no synchronized clock information. For the purpose, clock and data recovery circuit becomes a very crucial key block. In this paper, a 5.4Gbps half-rate bang-bang CDR is designed for the applications of high-speed graphic DRAM interface. The CDR consists of a half-rate bang-bang phase detector, a current-mirror charge-pump, a 2nd-order loop filter, and a 4-stage differential ring-type VCO. The PD automatically retimes and demultiplexes the data, generating two 2.7Gb/s sequences. The proposed circuit is realized in 66㎚ CMOS process. With input pseudo-random bit sequences (PRBS) of $2^{13}-1$, the post-layout simulations show 10psRMS clock jitter and $40ps_{p-p}$ retimed data jitter characteristics, and also the power dissipation of 80mW from a single 1.8V supply.

It is required to have researches on efficient resource allocation schemes in an integrated voice and data CDMA system with the spreading of high-speed wireless internets. In this paper, we proposed a efficient resouce allocation scheme for providing a high speed data service in an integrated CDMA system. In an integrated voice/data CDMA system, resources for voice users are allocated with high priority and residual resources are allocated to the data service. In this case, it is necessary to use a resource allocation scheme for minimizing interference. In this paper, we first explain about a interference minimizing method and define QoS requirements. Based on the method, we proposed a efficient resource allocation scheme which satisfy the QoS requirements. The proposed scheme controls the transmission rate and delay of data users with a priority information such as the number of packets in a queue. From the simulation results, we show that the proposed scheme reduce the blocking probability and delay and improve the performance.

This paper describes the development of the observational data transmission algorithm for high-speed network in radio astronomy. For the preprocessing of VLBI data observed by radio telescope, data transmission algorithm uses the VDIF specification, VDIFCP, and UDP protocol by transferring VLBI data stored in a massive storage server with one-to-one correspondence between the server and the RVDB of Daejeon correlator. A transmission method is proposed, which reads the recorded data in Mark5B VSI format and trnasmits 2048 Mbps VLBI data by software through UDP packet transmission, while RVDB system is waiting for the transmitting data from the server. In order to check the effectiveness of the proposed method, the data transmission between the massive storage server and RVDB is conducted and the transmitted data is correlated by Daejeon correlator for the accurate comparison concerning the data before and after. The transmitted data is shown to be completely the same as the original data without any data transmission loss. Henceforth, the developed data transmission algorithm in this research is expected to be applied effectively as e-VLBI for KaVA network.

Data communications at sea are done by the traditional radio and satellite carriers. Because of the restrictions on the data rate and cost of the carriers, a novel data communication system at sea is needed. Nowadays the efforts to make use of the broadband land carriers at sea have been pursued. This paper proposes a routing scheme (NTCR) using the various carriers on land for a MANET model at sea. The NTCR scheme optimizes the route using a chosen carrier by taking considerations of normalized transmission characteristics (NTC) of applications and carriers. The NTCR scheme is compared with the MWR (max-win based routing) scheme.
This paper describes the performance evaluation and analysis of Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN) in the 5 GHz ISM-band in compliance with IEEE 802.11a. At present, most W-LAN products are based on 2.4 GHz band, but low speed (11Mbps) has the limitation to serve systems demanding high-speed data transmission. To solve this problem, it is necessary to design next generation W-LAN system with 54Mbps in the 5GHz. It is sure that implementation of next generation W-LAN will bring competitive advantages. In particular, it will support telecommunications for high-speed mobile environments as well as for fixed places such as a school zone, a lecture room, a hospital and other premises. A few simulation methods are applied to more accurate and reliable performance analysis of next generation W-LAN. To verify if continuous data service is supported for a high-speed mobile notebook, multi-path fading channels between wireless Access Point (AP) and wireless Network Interface Card (NIC) are modeled. In addition, low interference is analyzed via convolutional codes and Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Also, to obtain reliable Bit Error Rate (BER), a single tap Least Mean Square (LMS) equalizer is applied. Given the above simulation, next generation W-LAN is an ideal solution for continuous data transmission in high-speed mobile environments.

MC-CDMA(Multicarrier code division multiple access), which is based on a combination of OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) and CDMA(code division multiple access), has gained a lot of interests in wireless multimedia communications, as high speed data transmission is required for mobile services. MC-CDMA has many advantages for broadband high speed data transmission in multipath environment because it can offer both advantages of the CDMA and the OFDM. However, A high PAPR(peak to average power ratio) problem, which is a major drawback of OFDM, is also shown in the MC-CDMA. In this paper, we propose a new phase factor optimization scheme to reduce complexity in PTS(partial transmit sequence) to reduce PAPR. We also analyze the performance of the MC-CDMA with various PTS schemes to investigate the relations between PAPR characteristics and effect of nonlinear distortion of a high power amplifier. Our simulation results reveal that the proposed PTS scheme reduces PAPR about 0.2∼0.5 dB even with 25% reduced- complexity compared to the conventional scheme.

The performance of underwater wireless communication system is influenced on channel characteristic. Especially, a delay spread cause by reverberation and multi-path happen the ISI (Inter Symbol Interference) and reduces the communication performance. In this paper, we study the application of high speed data transmission in underwater to use the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) technique for robust the reverberation and multi-path. we confirm the performance of communication in underwater to use the model for actually underwater channel simulation model. As a result, we acquired the BER of modulation techniques. The BER of single carrier is $2{\times}10^{-1}$ and BER of multi currier is $8{\times}10^{-2}$ in 1000m. Transmission of single carrier is 5 kbps.

It designs the general description of 8-VSB DTV transmission system will be installed and operated in future on the basis of NTSC TV transmission system in operation now. First of all, it investigates a condition that can maintain optimum received field in case of ground wave broadcasting with analog NTSC and digital 8-VSB DTV. Also it calculates critical value of minimum field strength fur receiving by using field strength calculation method of Longley-Rice. The 8-VSB DTV transmission sets its goal in transmission of data with 19.39Mbps at high speed in order to be available of HDTV in the band of NTSC 6MHz. Accordingly, the optimum of field strength between transmission and receiving points most of all is important problem. So,8-VSB DTV transmission should be enlarged or effective compared with NTSC service coverage. This study is to calculate the transmission power necessary in switching from NTSC VHF to DTV UHF and from NTSC UHF to DTV UHF for maintaining service coverage that NTSC is equal to 8-VSB DTV as a result of calculation.
