A harmonic movable tooth drive system integrated with shape memory alloys

  • Continuous rotating SMA actuators require motion conversion mechanisms, so their structure is relatively complex and difficult to realize the miniaturization. Here, a new type of continuous rotating actuator driven by SMA is proposed. It combines the movable tooth drive with SMA drive. The structure and working principle of the integrated movable tooth drive system is introduced. The equations of temperature, stress and strain of memory alloy wires, and the output torque of drive system are given. Using these equations, the temperature, the output forces of the SMA wires, and output torque of the drive system are studied. Results show that the compact drive system could give large output torque. To obtain large output torque plus small fluctuation, large eccentricity and small diameter of the SMA wire should be taken. Combined application of ventilation cooling and high current can increase the rotary speed of the drive system.

자동차 제동시 나타나는 Anti-Fading현상에 관한 연구 (Study of Anti-Fading Phenomena during Automotive Braking)

  • Two different friction materials (organic and low-metallic pads) for automotive brakes were studied to investigate the anti-fading phenomena during stop. The anti-fading phenomena were pronounced more in the case of using low metallic friction materials than organic friction materials. The main cause of the anti-fading phenomena was the high dependence of friction coefficient on a sliding speed. The anti-fading was prominent when the initial brake temperature was high in the case of low-metallic friction materials due to the strong stick-slip event at high temperature. On the other hand, the anti-fading was not severe in organic friction materials and the effect was reduced at high braking temperature due to the thermal decomposition of organic friction materials. The strong stickslip phenomena of low metallic friction materials at high temperature induced high torque oscillations during drag test. During this experiment two different braking control modes (pressure controlled and torque controlled modes) were compared. The type of the control mode used for brake test significantly affected the friction characteristics.

  • 압전 토오크 센서를 사용하는 고감도 자력계를 제작하였다. 미소진폭의 진동자기장을 자화된 시료에 인가할 때 생기는 토오크를 압전소자로 측정하였다. 그 토오크는 시료의 자화에 비례한다. 포화자 화의 측정오차는 기존치에 대하여 5% 이내였다.

  • This paper presents a driving method of 3-phase 4-poles SRM(switched reluctance motor) drived by switching angle control. In this study, the switching angle is determined from approximated analysis and computer simulation by using MATLAB for high efficiency according to the speed and torque required by load, and then microcontroller controls the switching angle of asymmetrical inverter in SRM driver. Also, we experiment the maximum forque driving and maximum power driving by controlling switching angle available to electric vehicle.

  • In this paper, a study on the improvement of the IM speed response against load torque variation is presented. A VSCS(Variable Structure Control System) is proposed which gives the desired robustness against load torque variation using a new kind of time-varing switching plane. In order to eliminate the reaching phase of the states from one switching plane to another during variation, the switching plane is varied continuously. To verify the high dynamic performance of the proposed VSCS, simulation and experimental results are presented.

노면상태, 타이어 공기압 및 축하중이 조향력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Ground Condition, Tire Inflation Pressure and Axle Load on Steering Torque)

  • In this study, a series of soil bin experiment was carried out to investigate experimentally the effect of the tire inflation pressure and axle load of tire on the steering torque for the off-road condition. The experiment was performed at the three levels of off-road conditions(ground I, ground II and ground III) and on-road condition(ground IV), four levels of tire inflation pressure(120 kPa, 170 kPa, 220 kPa and 270 kPa), and four levels of axle load(1470N, 1960N, 2450N and 2940N). The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Steering torque at the off-road conditions were higher than that on the on-road conditions for all levels of tire inflation pressure and axle load. 2. As the axle load increased, steering torque also increased f3r all experimental ground conditions. 3. For the axle load of 1470N the biggest steering torque was measured on the ground condition I, but as the axle load increased to the value of 2940N the biggest steering torque was measured on the ground condition III. From the above results, it was found that for the low axle load, steering torque gets higher on the soft ground condition, but for the high axle load, steering torque gets higher on hard ground condition for whole range of experimental conditions. 4. As the tire inflation pressure decreased, steering torque increased on the on-road condition, but no specific trend was not found at the off-road conditions.

최대 토크/효율 및 최소 토크맥동을 위한 스위칭각/전압에 의한 SRM 운전 (A SRM driving with voltage and switching angle for maximum torque/efficiency and minimum torque ripple)

  • 이 논문은 4상 6극 SRM의 최대토크/효율 및 최소토크맥동 운전을 위한 적정 전압과 스위칭각에 관한 연구이다. SRM은 비선형적인 특성이강하여 해석적인 방법으로 특성을 고찰하거나 속도/토크 제어가 어려운 단점이 있다. 이 논문에서는 최대토크/효율 및 최소토크맥동의 운전이 가능한 최적의 스위칭각과 전압을 SIMULINKK를 이용하여 구하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 최대토크운전에서는 속도는 스위칭각에 의존되고, 토크는 전압에 의존됨을 알 수 있었다. 뿐 만 아니라 최대효율, 최소토크리플운전에서는 전압보디는 속도와 스위칭각에 의해서 최대효율과 최소토크 리플이 발생되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 시뮬레이션에 의해서 구해진 최적각들을 ROM 데이터형식으로 참조 테이블을 만들어 마이크로 프로세서를 이용하여 구동하여 최대토크/효율, 최소토크리플 운전의 타당성을 보였다.

클러치 드래그 토크에 미치는 마찰재 면적 및 클리어런스의 영향 (Effects of Friction Plate Area and Clearance on the Drag Torque in a Wet Clutch for an Automatic Transmission)

  • The reduction of drag torque is an important research issue in terms of improving transmission efficiency. Drag torque in a wet clutch occurs because of the viscous drag generated by the transmission fluid in a narrow gap (clearance) between the friction plate and a separate plate. The objective of this paper is to observe the effects of the friction plate area and the clearance on the drag torque using finite element simulation. The two-phase flow of air and oil fluid is considered and modeled for the simulation. The simulation analysis reveals that as the rotational speed increases, the drag torque generally increases to a critical point and then decreases sharply at a high speed regime. The clearance between the two plates plays an important role in controlling drag torque peak. An increase in the clearance causes a decrease in shear stress; thus, the drag torque also decreases according to Newton's law of viscosity. An observation of the effect of the area of contact between transmission fluid and friction plate shows that the drag torque increases with the contact area. The flow vectors inside the flow channel present clear evidence that the velocity of the fluid flows is faster with a larger friction plate, that is, in the case of a larger contact area. Therefore, the optimum size of the friction plate should be determined carefully, considering both the clutch performance and drag reduction. It is expected that the results from this study can be very useful as a database for clutch design and to predict the drag torque for the initial design with respect to various clutch parameters.

등속성 장비를 이용하여 한국고교야구선수 주관절 근력 평가기준치 설정: (서울 및 경기도 중심으로) (Norm-referenced criteria for strength of the elbow joint for the korean high school baseball players using the isokinetic equipment: (Focusing on seoul and gyeonggi-do))

  • 이 연구의 목적은 등속성 장비를 이용하여 고등학교 야구선수들을 대상으로 주관절 근육의 평가 기준치를 설정하는데 있다. 상지에 의학적으로 문제가 없는 고등학교 야구선수 201명을 대상으로 하였다. 주관절 검사는 HUMAC NORM(CSMI, USA) system을 이용하여 굴곡, 신전운동을 부하속도 $60^{\circ}/sec$에서 4회를 실시하였으며, 절대근력(peak torque)와 상대근력(peak torque % body weight)을 측정하였다. Cajori의 5단계(6.06%, 24.17%, 38.30%, 24.17%, and 6.06%)로 구분한 구간추정(interval estimation)방식에 의해 평가 기준치를 나타내었다. 이 연구의 결과에서 각속도 $60^{\circ}/sec$에서 주관절의 절대근력(peak torque) 굴근의 평균은 $37.88{\pm}8.14Nm$ 신근은 $44.59{\pm}11.79Nm$으로 나타났으며, 상대근력(peak torque % body weight) 굴근의 평균은 $50.06{\pm}8.66Nm$ 신근은 $58.28{\pm}12.84Nm$로 나타났다. 각속도 $60^{\circ}/sec$에서 주관절 굴근(flexer)과 신근(extensor)의 절대근력(peak torque)과 상대근력(peak torque % body weight)의 평가기준치는 설정하였다. 이 연구에서 분석 된 결과를 토대로 다음과 같이 결론을 이끌어 냈다. 주관절은 야구선수들에게 가장 많이 발생되는 손상임에도 불구하고 국내외 주관절 근력에 관한 연구가 미비한 실정이다. 주관절 손상을 예방하고 경기력 향상을 위해 상대적 근력 수준과 훈련효과를 보다 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 근력 척도가 필요하다. 주관절의 절대근력과 상대근력의 평가기준치를 제시함으로서 고교선수, 야구지도자, 선수트레이너, 재활전문가 등에게 손상회복 및 재활 복귀 시 유용하게 자료가 될 것으로 생각되며, 객관적인 임상 평가 데이터로 활용하는 데 매우 유용한 정보라고 사료된다.
