  • In this paper, the structure of the Aladdin system was modeled by Petri nets for performance evaluation of 40G bps class Aladdin system which was developed in ETRI as the high-speed DDoS defensive tool. The efficiency analysis of the system architecture according to the input traffic of the Aladdin system was performed based on the modeling.

Optimization Calculations and Machine Learning Aimed at Reduction of Wind Forces Acting on Tall Buildings and Mitigation of Wind Environment

  • We performed calculations combining optimization technologies and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) aimed at reducing wind forces and mitigating wind environments (local strong winds) around buildings. However, the Reynolds Averaged Navier-stokes Simulation (RANS), which seems somewhat inaccurate, needs to be used to create a realistic CFD optimization tool. Therefore, in this study we explored the possibilities of optimizing calculations using RANS. We were able to demonstrate that building configurations advantageous to wind forces could be predicted even with RANS. We also demonstrated that building layouts was more effective than building configurations in mitigating local strong winds around tall buildings. Additionally, we used the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) as an airflow prediction method alternative to CFD in order to increase the speed of optimization calculations, and validated its prediction accuracy.

  • Many kinds of methods have been developed to carry out transverse analysis of prestressed concrete(PSC) box girder bridges. However, most bridge engineers only use the simple frame model to analyze PSC box girder in transverse direction because of its simplicity and easy usage. But, this frame model has many problems such that it can't consider warping, distortion and longitudinal load distribution. In this study, the results from simple frame model and 3-dimensional shell model with UIC load are compared to show its validity. The results from frame model are slightly larger than those of shell model in symmetric loading case. But, positive bending moment of top slab is larger in shell model than frame model in case subject to anti-symmetric loading. It shows that simple frame model can't always give conservative results, so a practical tool whose treatment is easy and whose product is reliable shall be developed as soon as possible.

A Study on Surface Roughness in Circular Pocket Machining of SCM415 Steel (SCM415강의 원형포켓 가공시 표면 거칠기에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we study the change of surface roughness during cutting machining by changing the cutting conditions such as feed rate and spindle velocity with chromium molybdenum steel (SCM415) material and TiCN and TiAlN coated end mill tools. The surface roughness value of the test specimen for SCM415, was found to be 3,000 rpm in TiCN coated end mill and $0.634{\mu}m$ in surface roughness at a feed rate of 100 mm/min. In the TiAlN coated end mill, 300 mm/min, the surface roughness was the best at $0.699{\mu}m$. The overall average surface roughness of each coating tool was better than that of TiAlN.

  • 통신 및 컴퓨터 시스템의 처리 속도가 높아짐에 따라 정보 보호를 위해서 고속의 데이터처리가 반드시 요구되어진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 국제 표준 암호알로기즘의 하나인ISDEA(International Data Encryption Algorithm)를 고속 연산을 위하여 알고리즘을 분석하고 암호화 수행시간을 감소하기 위하여 파이프라인 처리를 하며, 서브키 생성시의 연산회수를 줄이기 위하여 서브키 블록을 EEPROM 으로 구현하였다. 전체적인 시스템은 VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language)을 사용하여 설계하였다. IDEA 알고리듬은 EDA tool인 Synopsys를 사용하여 Sunthesis하였으며, Xilinx의 FPGA XC4052XL을 이용하여 One CHip화 시켰다. 입력 클럭으로 20Mhz를 사용하였을 때, data arrival time은 687.07ns였으며, 109.01 Mbp의 속도로 동작하 였다.

  • The informatization of Korea is accompanied by the great growth of new strategic export industry, as of mobile phone or semiconductor LCD. Speaking to the situation of mobile phone, Motorola swept over the American domestic market in the beginning of 1990s, digital mobile communication as CDMA developed swiftly in Korea. In 1996, the first year's CDMA users of Samsung were merely one million, nevertheless, the world's sales in the first half of this year is up to 92 million. In this p aper I design 3D application based on J2ME and implement a freely removable 3D object which happened in a 3D scen e by receiving the keyboard response of mobile device with WTK (Wireless ToolKit) simulator. It contains benefits of improvement of relative speed and high-level functionality such as scene graph, keyframe animation, etc.

  • Melt-textured YBCO in high quantity and good quality is prepared in a batch process. A mean trapped field >1. IT at 77K is achieved in batch processed material. Studying the microstructure is a necessary tool to understand the growth mechanisms and thus to opimise the material. From the growth induced structures in the material the anisotropy in growth speed is 1.37. From batch processed material function elements for different cryomagnetic applications are constructed. Motors with an output power > 200 kW at 77 K and bearings that can lift more than 200 kg were equipped with melt-textured YBCO.

  • In this paper, experimental studies are mainly carried out for the evaluation of precision cutting performance of a machine tool spincle running at high speed with the low load, in consideration of the bending vibration characteristics. As a result a process in presented for the practical application in the machine tools industry to evaluate the cutting performance in design stage of spindles.

Design and Implementation of Modified Current Source Based Hybrid DC - DC Converters for Electric Vehicle Applications

  • In this study, we present the modern hybrid system based power generation for electric vehicle applications. We describe the hybrid structure of modified current source based DC - DC converters used to extract the maximum power from Photovoltaic (PV) and Fuel Cell system. Due to reduced dc-link capacitor requirement and higher reliability, the current source inverters (CSI) better compared to the voltage source based inverter. The novel control strategy includes Distributed Maximum Power Point Tracking (DMPPT) for photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cell power generation system. The proposed DC - DC converters have been analyzed in both buck and boost mode of operation under duty cycle 0.5>d, 0.5<d<1 and 0.5<d for capable electric vehicle applications. The proposed topology benefits include one common DC-AC inverter that interposes the generated power to supply the charge for the sharing of load in a system of hybrid supply with photovoltaic panels and fuel cell PEM. An improved control of Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) based induction motor fed by current source converters for electric vehicle.In order to achieve better performance in terms of speed, power and miles per gallon for the expert, to accepting high regenerative braking current as well as persistent high dynamics driving performance is required. A simulation model for the hybrid power generation system based electric vehicle has been developed by using MATLAB/Simulink. The Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) is planned using Xilinx ISE software tool in addition to a Modelsim 6.3 software tool that is used for simulation purposes. The FPGA based pulse generation is used to control the induction motor for electric vehicle applications. FPGA has been implemented, in order to verify the minimal error between the simulation results of MATLAB/Simulink and experimental results.

  • As high speed digital systems continue to use components with faster edge rate and clock speeds, transmission of the digital information, it can bring about many troubles. The increasing requirement for controlled impedance PCBs becomes both a critical success factor and a design challenge to implement a system. Especially, the noise sources in high frequency digital systems include the noise in power supply, ground and packaging, and they destroy the fidelity of signals. Therefore PCB design with impendence matching is needed to improve fidelity of signal in H/W. In this paper, we have developed an impedance control and analysis tool for multi-layer PCB design, and simulates the tracks controlled impedance with the test coupon. So, it can save the design time and support the economical PCB design.
