Purposes of this study were 1) to identify the level of role expectation and role performance for school health educators as elementary school students recognize and to compare them, and 2) to examine differences in the role expectation and performance by characteristics of students and educators. Subjects of the study were 1,433 6th grade students at 37 elementary schools in Busan. The data were collected by a structured self-administered questionnaire, measuring role expectation and performance that students recognize. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA by SPSS program. The results were summarized as follows. 1. Students' level of recognizing the role expectation was high(M=4.08) and level of the role performance was moderate to high(M=3.50) within range of 1 to 5. The students recognized role expectation greater than role performance. 2. The students' point of view for role expectation and performance for school health educators were related to several characteristics of students and school health educators. Students' levels of recognizing the role expectation and performance were higher when students were male, healthy, their academic performance was high, their level of satisfaction with their school life was high, and their level of satisfaction with using school health office was high. With characteristics of School health educators, students' level of appreciating the role expectation was higher when educators were of an older age and had a long career, and when they were fairly satisfied with their job as an educator. Students' level of recognizing the role performance was higher when educators were of a younger age, and had a small number of students at school. This indicates that there exists role conflict on students and implies that the conflict needs to be mediated, and desirable solutions to address the conflict need to be developed by school health educators.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the intercorrelations among various motivational patterns and learning strategies and to examine the differences in motivation and strategy usage in terms of students' science achievement level, gender, and grade. A questionnaire on achievement goal, self-efficacy, self-concept of ability, expectancy, value, causal attributions, and learning strategies was administered to 360 junior high/high school students (178 males, 182 females). Students who adopted performance-oriented goal tended not to be task oriented. Task-oriented students had high levels of self-efficacy, high self-concept of ability, and expectancies for future performance in science. They also valued science and attributed thier failures to the lack of effort. However, performance-oriented students evaluated their ability negatively, did not value science, and attributed thier failures to uncontrollable causes. With respect to learning strategy, task-oriented students tended to use deep-level strategy, whereas performance-oriented students tended to use surface-level strategy and not to use deep-level strategy. High-achieving students, boys, and junior high school students were more task-oriented, evaluated their ability more positively, and valued science more than low-achieving students, girls, and high school students, respectively. High-achieving students and boys also used deep-level strategy more than each of their counterparts. However, no significant difference in learning strategy was found between junior high school students and high school students. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.
High-rise as a building typology is gaining popularity in Asian mega-cities, due to its advantages in increasing volumetric density with limited land resources. Numerous factors contribute to the formation of high-rise urban form, from economical and institutional, environmental to socio-political. Environmental concerns over the impact of rapid urbanization in developing economies demand new thought on the link between urban environment and urban form. Outdoor and indoor climate, pedestrian comfort, and building energy consumption are all related to and impacted by urban form and building morphology. There are many studies and practices on designing individual "green" high-rise buildings, but far fewer studies on designing high-rise building clusters from the perspective of environmental performance optimization.. This paper focuses on the environmental perspective, and its correlation with the evolution of the high-rise urban form. Previous studies on urban morphology in terms of environmental and energy performance are reviewed. Studies on "parameterizing" urban morphology to estimate its environmental performance are reviewed, and the possible urban design implications of the study are demonstrated in by the author, by way of a microclimate map of the iconic Shanghai Xiao Lujiazui CBD. The study formulates the best-practice design guidelines for creating walkable and comfortable outdoor space in a high-rise urban setting, including proper sizing of street blocks and building footprint, provision of shading, and facilitating urban ventilation.
It is necessary to apply a non-contact high-speed scanning system that can measure in real time in order to prevent the dropping and deformation of the main parts of railway vehicles during high-speed running. Recently, research on a scanning system that detects the deformation state of main parts from a video image taken using a high-performance camera has been actively pursued. In this study, we researched an analysis algorithm of a high-speed scanning system that uses a high-performance camera to monitor the deformation and drop-out state of the main components of the running units equipment in real time.
The purpose of this study is to prove the kinematical characteristics of Deff motion, the high bar performance, in terms of flying phases so that we can provide basic sources for improving gymnastic performance. To do this, we selected and analyzed the performance of two athletes who did Deff motion in the high bar competition of male artistic gymnastic in the 22nd Universiade 2003 Daegu. We drew the conclusions from the kinematical factors that were came out through analyzing three-dimensional cinematography of the athletes' movements, by using a high speed video camera. To make a successful performance, a performer releases the bar at a height of a high bar vertically and at a height of 82cm horizontally, and the flying performance should be made without moving forward, as maintaining the proper balance, in order to rise over 118cm high during the flying phase. When the performer is releasing the bar, an increase of the vertical speed in the center of the body and extension of a knee joint and a hip joint contribute to increasing a flying height. And when the moving body is twisted, leaning to left side is caused by the winding movement of a knee joint, which causes an unstable bar grasp. To grasp the bar stably, just before releasing the performer should gain propulsive force from twisting rotation through increasing the speed of shoulder rotation. And before the peak point, the performer should make sure of a body rotation distance over $164^{\circ}$ so that he or she can do an aerial rotary performance smoothly. When grasping the high bar, the center of the body should be above the bar and the angle of shoulder rotation should be maintained close to $540^{\circ}$ simultaneously. he high point performance(S1) has more speed on an ascending phase and less speed on a descending phase than the low point performance (S2). At the peak point, both the rotation angle of the body and that of the shoulder in high point performance are big as well. In conclusion, it is shown that a performer can make a jump toward the high bar easily with the body straight because the performer can hold the upper part of the body erect early in a descending phase.

This study aims to examine whether an increased disclosure has a positive impact on firm performance and whether the opposite impact of increased disclosure on firm performance can occur in certain conditions - high proprietary information and competition. The sample for this study consists of Indonesian firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data were selected based on purposive sampling and panel data spanned eleven years (2006-2016). A panel GLS regression using moderated regression analysis (MRA) was adopted. The results of this study reveal that an increased disclosure has a positive effect on firm performance, but an increased disclosure has a negative impact on firm performance when proprietary information is high, and vice versa. Also, if the disclosure is increased, the negative impact of proprietary information on firm performance will get exacerbated in conditions where the competition level is high. The findings of this study suggest that, since the positive effect of continuously-increased disclosure on firm performance leads to the reversal (negative) impact when certain conditions occur (high proprietary information and competition), the level of disclosure quality is most likely to tap an 'optimal' point. In this regard, however, a broader investigation of all firms across countries still needs to be conducted.

A major purpose of this study is to develop high modulus asphalt mixtures for perpetual asphalt pavements which can save maintenance cost by increasing the design and performance periods of the pavements. Various physical and mechanical laboratory tests are performed for the high modulus asphalt binder developed in this study. The test results show that the properties of the high modulus binder are similar to those of the French high modulus binders. In addition to the binder tests, various performance tests are conducted for the high modulus and conventional mixtures. The dynamic modulus test results indicate that the dynamic modulus values of the high modulus mixtures are higher than those of the conventional mixtures by 10~15% at $5^{\circ}C$, 20~25% at $15^{\circ}C$ and 100% at $30^{\circ}C$. It is observed from the performance tests that the high modulus mixtures yield better fatigue, rutting and moisture damage performance than the conventional mixtures.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of a High Performance Work System(HWPS) on research performance. In addition, this study examines the mediation effect of Innovation Commitment(IC) and the moderated mediation effect of Perceived Organizational Support(POS), and seeks to reveal the antecedents and boundary variables that affect research performance. Design/methodology/approach - The level of analysis is at the individual level. A survey was collected from researchers at government-funded research institutes in the Daejeon and Sejong areas. 265 questionnaires were used in the final statistical analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed using the AMOS 21. Correlation analysis, regression analysis, and bootstrapping by Process Macro were performed using the SPSS 19. Findings - As a result of the study, HWPS has a positive effect on IC, and IC has a positive effect on research performance. Through this results, it was found that IC mediates the relationship between the HPWS and research performance. In addition, POS positively moderated the mediating effect of HPWS on research performance through IC. Research implications or Originality - First, IC can be increased through a HPWS. Second, the effect of the HWPS on individual research performance through IC provides implications that the HWPS can be effectively applied not only to general companies but also to research organizations. Third, the boundary effect of POS was revealed. Fourth, research performance was measured through objective quantitative indicators rather than subjective.

For high performance Grid environments, an efficient GIS(Grid Information Service is required In the Metacomputing Directory Service(MDS) of the Glogus middleware, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol(LDAP), which is a distributed directory service protocol, is used. The LDAP GIS differs from general purpose LDAP directories in that most of the LDAP operations are write in Grid environments. To get an efficient design of the GIS, it is thus required to analyze the performance of the LDAP system in the context of Grid environments. This paper presents the result of a performance analysis of LDAP systems. The main objective of the evaluation is to see the performance scalability of the LDAP system in the Grid environment where the write operations prevails. Based on these results, we suggest directions of an efficient LDAP-based GIS for a high performance Grid.
This study examines how green operations affect firm's environmental performance with green innovation as a mediator in the context of electronic industry. We carry out an empirical study with 141 valid questionnaires collected from high-tech manaufactures in Taiwan. The results show that positive relationships exist among green operations, green innovation and environmental performance (in both operational performance and managerial performance). However, an integration of green operations with green innovation would influence firm's environmental performance more positively than the sole effects of green operations. It suggests that high-tech manufacturers should pay greater attention to green innovative strategies in order to cope with customer demand and, thereby, enhancing customer satisfaction and sustainable operations. This study has contributed to the extant literature by providing valuable academic references and pragmatic guidelines for firms to gain competitive advantages through green operations and green innovation.
