The high temperature behavior of Al 6061 alloy was characterized by the hot torsion test in the temperature ranges of 400∼550℃ and the strain rate ranges of 0.05∼5/sec. To decide optimum deformation condition, three types of deformation maps were individually made from the critical strain (εc). deformation resistance(σp) and deformation efficiency (η). The critical strain(εc) for dynamic recrystallization (DRX) which was decided from the inflection point of strain hardening rate(θ) - effective stress (σ) curve was about 0.65 times of peak strain (εp). The relationship among deformation resistance (peak stress, σp), strain rate (ε), and temperature (T) could be expressed by ε=2.9×1013[sinh(0.0256σp]7.3exp (-216,000/RT). The deformation efficiency (η)which was calculated on the basis of the dynamic materials model (DMM) showed high values at the condition of 500∼550℃, 5/sec for 100% strain. The results from three deformation maps were compared with microstructures. The best condition of plastic deformation could be determined as 500℃ and 5/sec.
The deformation properties of a TiC-Mo eutectic composite were investigated in a compression test at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 2053 K and at strain rates ranging from $3.9{\times}10^{-5}s^{-1}$ to $4.9{\times}10^{-3}s^{-1}$. It was found that this material shows excellent high-temperature strength as well as appreciable room-temperature toughness, suggesting that the material is a good candidate for high-temperature application as a structure material. At a low-temperature, high strength is observed. The deformation behavior is different among the three temperature ranges tested here, i.e., low, intermediate and high. At an intermediate temperature, no yield drop occurs, and from the beginning the work hardening level is high. At a high temperature, a yield drop occurs again, after which deformation proceeds with nearly constant stress. The temperature- and yield-stress-dependence of the strain is the strongest in this case among the three temperature ranges. The observed high-temperature deformation behavior suggests that the excellent high-temperature strength is due to the constraining of the deformation in the Mo phase by the thin TiC components, which is considerably stronger than bulk TiC. It is also concluded that the appreciable room-temperature toughness is ascribed to the frequent branching of crack paths as well as to the plastic deformation of the Mo phase.

High temperature plastic deformation behavior of Al 6061 alloy was characterized by hot torsion test. The Al 6061 alloy deformed continuously in the temperature range of 400∼550$^{\circ}C$, and strain rate range of 0.05∼5/sec. The softening mechanism of Al 6061 alloy was dynamic recrystallization and identified by hyperbolic sine law and zener-Hollmon parameter. The evolution of grain size and deformation resistance were calculated by the relationships of deformation variables.
The microstructure and high-temperature plastic deformation behavior of the modified Al-0.7Mn alloy were investigated and compared with the conventional Al-0.3Mn (Al3102) alloy. α-Al (matrix) and Al6(Mn, Fe) phases were identified in both alloys. As a result of microstructure observation, both alloys showed equiaxed grains, and Al-0.7Mn alloy showed larger grain size and higher Al6(Mn, Fe) fraction than Al-0.3Mn alloy. High temperature compressive tests, the deformation temperatures of 410℃, 450℃, 490℃, 530℃ and strain rats of 10-2/s, 10-1/s, 1/s, 10/s, were conducted using Gleeble equipment. The flow stress values of Al-0.7Mn alloy were higher than that of Al-0.3Mn alloy at all strain rates and temperature conditions. Constitutive equations were presented using the flow stresses obtained from experimental results and the Zener-Hollomon parameter. In the true stress-true strain curves of the two alloys, the experimental and predicted values were in good agreement with each other. Based on the dynamic material model, eutectic deformation maps of Al-0.7Mn and Al-0.3Mn alloys were suggested, and the plastic instability region was presented. The modified Al-0.7Mn alloy showed a wider plastic instability region than that Al-0.3Mn alloy. Based on the process deformation maps, the MPE tube parts could be manufactured through the actual extrusion process using the suggested conditions.
TiC-21 mol% Mo solid solution (${\delta}$-phase) and TiC-99 mol% Mo solid solution (${\beta}$-phase), and TiC-(80~90) mol% Mo hypo-eutectic composite were deformed by compression in a temperature range from room to 2300 K and in a strain rate range from $4.9{\times}10^{-5}$ to $6.9{\times}10^{-3}/s$. The deformation behaviors of the composites were analyzed from the strengths of the ${\delta}$- and ${\beta}$-phases. It was found that the high strength of the eutectic composite is due primarily to solution hardening of TiC by Mo, and that the ${\delta}$-phase undergoes an appreciable plastic deformation at and above 1420 K even at 0.2% plastic strain of the composite. The yield strength of the three kinds of phase up to 1420 K is quantitatively explained by the rule of mixture, where internal stresses introduced by plastic deformation are taken into account. Above 1420 K, however, the calculated yield strength was considerably larger than the measured strength. The yield stress of ${\beta}$-phase was much larger than that of pure TiC. A good linear relationship was held between the yield stress and the plastic strain rate in a double-logarithmic plot. The deformation behavior in ${\delta}$-phase was different among the three temperature ranges tested, i.e., low, intermediate and high. At an intermediate temperature, no yield drop occurred, and from the beginning the work hardening level was high. At the tested temperature, a good linear relationship was held in the double logarithmic plot of the yield stress against the plastic strain rate. The strain rate dependence of the yield stress was very weak up to 1273 K in the hypo-eutectic composite, but it became stronger as the temperature rose.

It is well known that Fe3Al intermetallic compound shows an anomalous peak of the yield strength at about 50$0^{\circ}C$ and then decrease at higher temperatures The dislocation structure was examined by transmission electron microscopy and high temperatures. The dislocation structure was examined by transmission electron microscopy and high temperature mechanical properties were examined by tensile and load relaxation tests. The flow stress curves obtained from load relaxation tests were then analyzed in terms of internal variable deformation theory. it was found that the flow curves consisted of three micro-deformation mechanisms -i. e inelastic deformation mode plastic deformation mode and dislocation creep deformation mode depending on both dislocation structure and deformation temperature. The flow curves could be well described by the constitutive equations of these three micro-deformation mechanisms based on the internal variable deformation theory.

This paper describes about the estimation method of die lift by wear and plastic deformation in hot forging process. The thermal load and the thermal softening are happened by the high temperature in hot forging process. Tool lift decreases considerably due to the softening of the surface layer of a tool caused by high thermal load and long contact time between tool and billet. Also, tool life is to a large extent limited by wear, heat crack and plastic deformation in hot forging process. Above all, the main factors which affects die accuracy and tool lift are wear and the plastic deformation of a die. The new developed technique for predicting tool life applied to estimate the production quantity for a spindle component and these techniques assist to improve the tool life in hot forging process.
The effect of dynamic strain aging on high temperature deformation behaviour of the A-Mg alloy was investigated by strain rate change tests and stress relaxation tests between 20$0^{\circ}C$and 50$0^{\circ}C$. Yield point, short stress transient and periodic discontinuities on the stress-strain curve were considered as an evidence of the effect of dynamic strain aging. With this criterion two distinct strain rate-temperature regimes could be manifested. Dynamic strain aging was considered to be effective in the high temperature-low strain rate regime, whereas dynamic recovery was a dominant deformation mechanism in the low temperature-high strain rate regime. It was found that dynamic strain aging in the high temperature deformation was governed by the mechcanism of diffusion-controlled, viscous dislocation movement.
In this paper we develop a fully anisotropic pressure and temperature dependent model to investigate the effect of the microstructure on the shock response of ${\beta}$-HMX molecular single and polycrystals. This micromechanics-based model can account for crystal orientation as well as crystallographic twinning and slip during deformation and has been calibrated using existing gas gun data. We observe that due to the high degree of anisotropy of these polycrystals, certain orientations are more favorable for plastic deformation - and therefore defect and dislocation generation - than others. Loading along these directions results in highly localized deformation and temperature fields. This observation confirms that most of the temperature rise during high rates of loading is due to plastic deformation or dislocation pile up at microscale and not due to volumetric changes.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of precipitate on the high temperature deformation stability of incoloy 825 alloy. $Cr_{23}C_6$ carbide was precipitated under $950^{\circ}C$, but was not detected over $1,000^{\circ}C$. Most of the precipitation consist of $Cr_{23}C_6$ carbide. Strain-rate sensitivity was the highest in 0.01/s and the lowest in 10/s. Strain-rate sensitivity was decreased sharply below $950^{\circ}C$. In the temperature between $850^{\circ}C{\sim}1,150^{\circ}C$, plastic instable area did not exist. It showed the lowest Ziegler Parameter value of 0.06 Ziegler Parameter was the lowest as 0.06 at $850^{\circ}C$ with 10s-1 of strain. The highest Ziegler Parameter value(0.43) was found in plastic deformation at $1,050^{\circ}C$ with 0.01s-1 of strain. It tends to have an higher resistance to the high temperature deformation under $950^{\circ}C$, due to the precipitation.
