하이브리드 방식 (CNC+Laser)을 이용한 폴리머용접공정 (Hybrid (CNC+Laser) Process for Polymer Welding)

  • Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) were welded by a combination of a diode laser and a CNC machining center. Laser beam delivered through the transparent PC and was absorbed in an opaque ABS. Polymers were melted and joined by absorbed and conducted heat. Experiments were carried out by varying working distance from 44mm to 50mm for the focus spot diameter control, laser input power from 10W to 25W, and scanning speed from 100 to 400mm/min. The weld bead and cross-section were analyzed for weld quality, and tensile results were presented through the joint force measurement. With focus distance at 48mm, laser power with 20W, and welding speed at 300mm/min, experimental results showed the best welding quality which bead size was measured to be 3.75mm. The shear strength at the given condition was $22.8N/mm^2$. Considering tensile strength of ABS is $43N/mm^2$, shear strength was sufficient to hold two materials. A single process was possible in a CNC machining system, surface processing, hole machining and welding. As a result, the process cycle time was reduced to 25%. Compared to a typical process, specimens were fabricated in a single process, with high precision.

목초(牧草)의 전단(剪斷) 특성(特性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Study on the Shearing characteristics of Forage)

  • 목초(牧草) 수확기(收穫機)의 설계(設計) 및 목초(牧草)의 처리가공(處理加工)의 기초자료(基礎資料)로서 기여(寄與)하고저 6개(個) 종류(種類)의 목초(牧草)-reed canarygrass, alfalfa, red clover, orchardgrass, meadow fescue 및 birdsfoot trefoil-을 공시건초(供試乾草)로 사용(使用)하여 자연건조(自然乾燥)에 따른 함수율변화(含水率變化)와 전단(剪斷) 각변화(角變化)가 전단력(剪斷力) 및 전단(剪斷) energy에 미치는 영향(影響)을 포함(包含)한 목초(牧草)의 전단특성(剪斷特性)을 측정분석(測定分析)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 건초(牧草)의 linear density는 직경(直徑)의 증가(增加)에 따라 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)이었으며 그 증가율(增加率)은 red clover에서 가장 컷다. 2. 전단면적(剪斷面積)의 증가(增加)에 따른 전단력(剪斷力)의 증가율(增加率)은 alfalfa에서 가장 큰 값을 나타냈고 meadow fescue에서 가장 작은 값을 나타냈다. 3. 전단면적(剪斷面積)의 증가(增加)에 따른 전단(剪斷) energy의 증가율(增加率)은 reed canarygrass, red clover 및 alfalfa에서 컷고 birdsfoot trefoil, orchardgrass 및 meadow fescue는 작은 값을 나타냈다. 4. 함수율(含水率)이 전단특성(剪斷特性)에 미치는 영향(影響)은 비교적 컷으며 reed canarygrass 및 red clover는 약 40% 함수율(含水率)에서 전단력(剪斷力) 및 전단(剪斷) energy가 최대치(最大値)를 나타냈으며 반면(反面) meadow fescue 및 orchardgrass는 감소초기(減少初期)인 약 70% 부근(部近)에서 최소치(最小値)를 나타냈다. 5. 전단각(剪斷角)이 $90^{\circ}$에서 $70^{\circ}$, $50^{\circ}$로 감소(減少)할때 전단력(剪斷力)도 감소(減少)하였다.

텅스텐 중합금의 부피분율, 입자형상에 따른 단열전단밴드 형성 연구 (The Effects of Volume Ratio and Shape on the Formation of Adiabatic Shear Band in WHA)

  • The formation of adiabatic shearband in tungsten heavy alloys(WHA) was studied in this investigation. Five prismatic specimens were loaded by high velocity impacts and treated as plane strain problems. To find out the effect of particle's volume ratio, specimens containing 81%, 93% and 97% volume percents of tungsten particles were used. Also the effects of particle's geometry and size on the formation of shearband were studied for 81% volume percent alloys by small size particle model, large size particle model and undulated particle models, and the results were discussed.be used to diagnose the causes of necking and fracture in industrial practice and to investigate whether these defects were caused by material property variation, changes in lubrication, or incorrect press settings. In non-axisymmetric deep drawing, three modes of forming regimes are found: draw, stretch, plane strain. The stretch mode for non-axisymmetric deep drawing could be defined when the major and minor strains are positive. The draw mode could be defined when the major strain is positive and minor strain is negative, and plane strain mode could be defined when the major strain is positive and minor strain is zero. Through experiments the draw mode was shown on the wall and flange are one of a drawn cup, while the plane strain and the stretch mode were on the punch head and the punch corner area respectively, We observed that the punch load of elliptical deep drawing was decreased according to increase of die corner radius and the thickness deformation of minor side was more large than major side.

전단-구조연계해석을 이용한 섀시부품 전단금형의 형상설계 (Shape Design of Shearing Die for the Chassis Part with the Coupled Analysis of Shear and Die Structure)

  • To reduce the weight of the vehicle, the application of the high strength steel sheets to chassis parts is increased. High forming load is induced during the shearing process of steel chassis parts made of high strength steel, and the possibility of an eccentric load is increased depending on the product seating condition on the die, which decreases the stability and lifespan of the die. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element analysis with the continuum element was conducted using the damage theory for the cam-trimming process of the front lower arm. The structural analysis of the trimming die was performed with the forming load result obtained from the analysis, and the amount of deflection and the stress distribution of the die during the shearing process were evaluated for the confirmation of the tool stability. The shape of the weak region of the die was modified according to structural analysis and then the stability was confirmed with the finite element analysis. The analysis result showed that the possibility of tool failure during cam-trimming process was remarkably reduced, and the reliability of the proposed modified design was validated.

STUDIES ON THE POLY(4,4-TEREPHTHANILIDEALKYLAMIDE)S (II) Rheological properties and Fibre Performance

  • Among other poly(4,4'-terephthanilidealkylamide)s (PTAA's), poly (4,4'-terephthanilideadipamide) (PTAd) gave clear critical concentration curves. For PTAA's with methylene units more than 6, the critical concentration (C*) seemed to be beyond the solubility limit of H₂SO₄. Under shearing conditions, the nematic domains were easily oriented and stretched in the direction of shear , and a fibrillar structure resulted. At low frequencies, a monotollous reduction of loss tangent (tan) was observed as concentration increased. At high frequencies, however, tan was increased above C* again, and showed maximum at saturation concentration (Cs). With increasing temperature, viscosity of isotropic and anisotropic phases was normally decreased, while viscosity of biphases was increased. Plot of complex viscosity (If) against temperature based on rheological measurements exhibited a good correlation with phase diagram constructed by polarizing microscope observations. Rheological parameters suggested the optimum dope concentration of PTAd with inherent viscosity 2.02 at 30oc is in the vicinity of 19.2 wt%, which seemed to agree well with spinning experiments (around 19.4 wt%). In general, effects of spinning and annealing conditions on the mechanical properties of PTAA fibres were most pronounced in PTAd fibre spun from anisotropic spinning dope .

선박 엔진용 밸브 스핀들 모재에 따른 마찰 용접 후 기계적 특성 변화 (Parent Materials Effect on the Mechanical Property of the Friction Welded Spindle Valve Parts for Marine Engines)

  • The importance of dual-fuel engines has increased for reducing CO2 emissions. However, the low operating temperature of this engine may induce low-temperature corrosion at combustion parts, which reduces the engine service life. To overcome this problem, NiCr38Al4 alloy was developed for valve spindle, but the cost of this alloy is expensive due to its high Cr content. For reducing the manufacturing cost of valve spindle, in the present work, NiCr38Al4 alloy was welded with Nimonic80A alloy by conducting friction welding. The tensile test results show that the strength of friction-welded specimens follows the properties of the lower-strength parent materials, without severe cracks at the interface. The large shear strain and frictional heat from friction welding not only reduce grain size but also induce solute element diffusion at the interfacial region. Because of the low Cr diffusivity compared with Ti, Cr carbides were not observed in the Nimonic80A matrix, while Ti carbides were distributed in both the Nimonic80A and SNCrW matrices.

  • In this study, the correction process of stress-strain curves obtained from hot compression test is introduced since the barreling induced by friction and adiabatic heat generation induced by plastic work occur under high strain rate. A shear friction factor was quantitatively estimated by measuring the dimension of barreling and temperature rise due to adiabatic heat generation was directly measured during compression test. Thereafter, the stress-strain curves were re-evaluated by introducing several equations to correct the effects of the friction and temperature rise. It was found that adiabatic factor at strain rate of 10/s is in the range of about 0.5 to 0.75 for Nimonic 80A and decreases as the assigned temperature increases.

전단파 토모그래피를 활용한 철도 콘크리트 궤도 슬래브 층분리 결함 평가 (Evaluation of Debonding Defects in Railway Concrete Slabs Using Shear Wave Tomography)

  • 이 연구의 주요 목적은 고속철도 콘크리트 궤도 슬래브의 콘크리트 슬래브(track concrete layer, TCL)와 도상안정층(hydraulically stabilized based course, HSB) 사이 층분리를 평가하기 위한 비파괴검사법으로 전단파 토모그래피 기술의 활용가능성을 실험적으로 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 다채널 전단파 측정 장치(MIRA)를 활용하여 실물 크기로 제작된 고속철도 콘크리트 궤도 슬래브 실험체 내부의 층분리 결함을 평가하였다. 실물실험체는 Rheda 2000 시스템에 따라 설계 및 시공되었으며, 노반 위에 HSB를 타설하고, 그 위에 TCL이 타설된 2층 슬래브 구조를 갖는다. 실물실험체는 일부구간의 HSB상부에 스티로폼으로 제작된 인공결함(가로 및 세로가 각각 400mm이고 두께가 각각 5mm, 15mm인 압출폴리스티렌폼(XPS)보드 2개)을 삽입하여, TCL과 HSB 사이에 층분리 결함이 생기도록 시공하였다. 시험체의 층분리 구간에서 얻은 콘크리트 단층이미지는 층분리에 따른 균열 및 HSB와 지반사이의 계면에서 반사되는 신호를 효과적으로 보여 주었다. 한편 초음파 토모그래피 이미지에서 TCL 콘크리트의 매입물(철근, 트러스, 인서트 등)에서 반사된 신호와 층분리 결함 신호를 구분하기 위한 노이즈 제거를 위한 이미지 처리방법을 적용하여 층분리 결함을 효과적으로 분리하였다. 토모그래피 이미지에서 추출된 층분리 결함의 크기정보와 공간정보를 통합하여 층분리 지도로 재구성하였으며, 층분리 결함의 위치 및 크기를 시각화하는데 효과적인 것을 확인하였다.

PIV System for the Flow Pattern Anaysis of Artificial Organs ; Applied to the In Vitro Test of Artificial Heart Valves

  • The most serious problems related to the cardiovascular prothesis are thrombosis and hemolysis. It is known that the flow pattern of cardiovascular prostheses is highly correlated with thrombosis and hemolysis. Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) is a usual method to get flow pattern, which is difficult to operate and has narrow measure region. Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) can solve these problems. Because the flow speed of valve is too high to catch particles by CCD camera, high-speed camera (Hyspeed : Holland-Photonics) was used. The estimated maximum flow speed was 5m/sec and maximum trackable length is 0.5 cm, so the shutter speed was determined as 1000 frames per sec. Several image processing techniques (blurring, segmentation, morphology, etc) were used for the preprocessing. Particle tracking algorithm and 2-D interpolation technique which were necessary in making gridrized velocity pronto, were applied to this PIV program. By using Single-Pulse Multi-Frame particle tracking algorithm, some problems of PIV can be solved. To eliminate particles which penetrate the sheeted plane and to determine the direction of particle paths are these solving methods. 1-D relaxation fomula is modified to interpolate 2-D field. Parachute artificial heart valve which was developed by Seoul National University and Bjork-Shiely valve was testified. For each valve, different flow pattern, velocity profile, wall shear stress and mean velocity were obtained.

인공시효시간에 따른 Ni 기판 Pb-free 솔더접합부의 기계적 물성평가 (Evaluation of Mechanical Property for Pb-free Solder/Ni Plate Joints with Artificial Aging Time)

  • 최근까지, 전자제품에 사용되는 솔더는 납성분이 남아 있으며, 전자부품 및 시스템의 무연 (Pb-free) 솔더에 대한 관심은 반도체 및 전자산업에서 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서 사용된 솔더접합부는 Sn-37Pb, Sn-4Ag 및 Sn-4Ag-0.5Cu/Ni 기판 이다. 인공시효처리는 $150^{\circ}C$에서 각각 0hr, 100hr, 200hr, 400hr, 600hr 그리고 1000hr 동안 수행되었으며, SP 시험을 이용해 $30^{\circ}C$$50^{\circ}C$에서 접합강도를 평가했다. 전단강도는 인공시효시간과 온도가 증가함에 따라 전반적으로 감소하였다. 무연솔더는 Sn-37Pb 보다 총파괴 에너지가 높았으며, Sn-4Ag-0.5Cu/Ni 접합부는 고온에서 기계적 물성치가 가장 우수하였다.
