A Study on Optical Transport Platform on ATCA

  • In this paper, we discuss a study on Advanced TCA(ATCA) based 40 Gbps level Optical transport platform having 120 Gbps(12, 10 Gbps modules) switching capacity as an OTP based large capacity multi service technology. The ATCA-based OTP(Optical Transport Platform) is composed of OTH(Optical Transport Hierarchy) 10 or 40 Gbps client signal interface module, OTH 10 Gbps transport module, high-rate OTH unit switch, system processor, and can be installed in ATCA platform.

  • 공정제어시스템과 같은 복잡한 시스템을 감시하고 제어하기 위한 정보 디스플레이를 설계하기 위해 두 가지의 세부적인 설계문제를 효과적으로 다루어야 한다. 정보디스플레이에서 표현할 정보의 내용을 파악하고 조직화하는 문제와 그 표현할 정보를 시각적으로 잘 표현하는 문제로 구분이 된다. Ecological Interface Design (EID)는 두 문제를 다루기 위한 이론적 배경지식과 방법을 제공하는 정보디스플레이 설계의 틀이다. EID는 1990년대 초반에 그 개념적 틀이 소개된 이후에 그 유용성이 여러 작업영역과 직무환경에서 입증되어 왔다. 그러나 실제 현장에서 EID의 개념을 활용하는데 있어 큰 어려움으로 지적된 것이 정보의 시각화를 위한 실용적이고 구체적인 원칙과 방법이 부족하다는 점이었다. 또한 EID 개념의 활용에만 집중할 경우 효과적인 정보 디스플레이 설계를 위해 고려되어야 하는 다른 설계 문제들이 쉽게 간과될 가능성도 높다. 이 점은 아직도 EID의 실제적 활용성을 높이는데 큰 약점으로 지적된다. 이 논문에서는 EID의 개요와 장단점을 소개한 후에 이에 기반해서 정보 디스플레이 설계를 종합적으로 다루는 데 도움이 될 수 있는 방법을 소개한다. 특히 이 논문에서는 기능적으로 추상화된 정보의 시각화 및 추상화 관점에서 다른 단계에 있는 정보들간의 목적-수단 관계를 시각화해서 명시화하는 것을 강조한다. 또한 디스플레이 설계 요소에 기반한 설계 프로세스 및 관련 설계 원칙 및 지침의 적절한 활용도 강조한다. 이 논문에서 제안된 방법은 EID의 개념적 틀을 확장하면서 인간 중심적인 정보 디스플레이의 설계하는데 유용한 원칙과 방향성을 정립하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

Method of DNC System Communication for FMS Construction (FMS 구축을 위한 DNC 시스템 통신기법)

  • The development of automatic production systems has a trend toward Computer Integrated Manufacturing System(CIMS) in recent years. In hardware configuration, CIMS are composed of intelligent CAD/CAM work stations, multifunction CNC machining centers including material handling systems. The DNC systems present the key element of automation hierarchy in a FMS. A DNC system is one which connects a number of numerically-controlled machines to a common memory in a digital computer for part program storage with provision for on-demand distribution of part program data to machines using communication in hierarchical structure of central computer, control computer and cell controller. This paper describes the development of Behind-the-Tape-Reader(BTR) type DNC system using CYBER 180-830 as a central computer and IBM PC-386 cell control computer and NC lathe with FANUC 5T NC controller. In this system, the connection between central computer and cell control computer is done via RS-232C serial interface board, and the connection between cell control computer and FANUC 5T controller is done via parallel interface board. The software consists of two module, central computer communication module for NC program downloading and status uploading, NC machine running module for NC operating.

  • An on-line game is growing of very fast through characters of the interactive Computing and internet environment. In addition, an edu-game combing the advantages of the game and the education increase gradually. The paper proposes an edu-game system for providing knowledge through the hierarchical structure. The system differs from existing ones that combine a game and an on-line education. There are three different goals as follows. First, the paper proposes three-level of knowledge hierarchies. The method enables users to understand more easy and systematic and interesting education. Second, the graphic interface of a puzzle type is able to contact more conveniently and it provides beauties and functionalities. Third, Among them, specifically the knowledge hierarchy is not forced to users and the method also can study in detail and users can enjoy systematically e-education by using the general type of a puzzle game.

  • The efficiency and stability of an NLP system depends crucially on how is lexicon is orga- nized . Then lexicon ought to encode linguistic generalizations and exceptions thereof. Nowadays many computational linguists tend to construct such lexical information in an inheritance hierarchy DATR is good for this purpose In this research I will construct a DATR-lexicon in order to parse sentences in Korean using QPATR is implemented on the basis of a unification based grammar developed in Dusseldorf. In this paper I want to show the interface between a syntactic parser(QPATR) and DTAR-formalism representing lexical information. The QPATR parse can extract the lexical information from the DATR lexicon which is organised hierarchically.

  • This paper illustrates the process of developing and configuring the prototype Computer Analysis System for Controlling Occupational WORKload (CAS-COWORK). The software interface between the database and expert system was attempted. The database is used for storing and retrieving series of data entered by general users and the expert system is used for identifying and solving occupational problem areas. Two theories were applied in developing the algorithm base of CAS-COWORK that were used to calculate overall workload stress level. The fuzzy set theory was introduced to capture the subject‘s workload stress perception. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was introduced to estimate the importance of the task and workplace variables. The purpose of the system development is for future prediction and problem solving which would be highly valuable to the industrial engineer.

  • ADE i,1 a software tool for the design and implementation of multi-agent systems. ADE allows a designer to draw a multi-agent system graphically, specify the necessary properties, and deploy their applications. ADE offers a set of intuitive, easy to use interfaces that enable a designer to completely specify the agents and agent interactions in a multi-agent system. In this environment, JATLite/sup [1]/ is improved significantly. Furthermore, ADE provides a unique set of features for a multi-agent system design tool. An agent description method based on Design roadmap/sup [2]/ theory, a hierarchy of agents, and a fully featured Java-based Graphical User Interface are combined in ADE. This distinct combination of features mates ADE stand out among the existing multi-agent system design tools. This paper presents the research related to the application of the ADE, along with descriptions of its design and implementation.

  • In this paper, we made software components reusable through syntax-analysis method, designed a Viewer for understanding component information, and retrieved similar components by using Enhanced SARM. Because SARM requires a lot of computation time, it was enhanced by reducing unnecessary activation value. Also GUI was designed for component-query relationship and Viewer represents hierarchy diagram of a retrieved component. This system supports facilities which can insert and delete components on diagram. For a component modification, this system supports a editor to rebuild class inheritance relationship. In this paper, SCRS (software components reuse system) is consisted of syntax-analysis method, component-query relationship interface, retrieval (Enhanced SARM), diagram viewer, reuse on diagram, and a editor.

  • The weapon system has developed by adding various functions because of the warfare change. And, an weapon system test set (WSTS) that is used to test and judge the condition of weapon system also deal with a lot of complex information. However, almost WSTS is developed on the basis of developer-centric. Because of it, it is hard to make a result by apprehending information on WSTS's display. Thus, I proposed a new display of WSTS by adapting the Ecological Interface Design(EID) Methodology to reduce operator's cognitive workload and assure safe testing. WSTS's Display is developed through Information Requirement and Work Domain Model as a result of Work Domain Analysis. The most powerful thing in the new display is that operator can identify his testing and status of WSTS directly. I expect that it reduces operator's cognitive workload and helps safe testing.

  • The Smart UAV Program was motivated by a huge potential market, a various application and future core technologies. The Smart UAV system is defined as the advanced air vehicle with the smart technology such as collision awareness and avoidance, healthy monitering and self-recovering, intelligent active control. Due to the broad interest by government, industry and academia, Smart UAV development center and government steering committee were established. The organization of Smart UAV program consists of domestic/international companies and academia. in this paper, the process and application of system engineering was introduced for Smart UAV development program.
