  • This paper presents a method of hierarchical state estimation of the time-varying linear systems via Block-pulse function(BPF). When we estimate the state of the systems where noise is considered, it is very difficult to obtain the solutions because minimum error variance matrix having a form of matrix nonlinear differential equations is included in the filter gain calculation. Therefore, hierarchical approach is adapted to transpose matrix nonlinear differential equations to a sum of low order state space equation from and Block-pulse functions are used for solving each low order state space equation in the form of simple and recursive algebraic equation. We believe that presented methods are very attractive nd proper for state estimation of time-varying linear systems on account of its simplicity and computational convenience. • A clustering scheme for ad hoc networks is aimed at managing a number of mobile devices by utilizing hierarchical structure of the networks. In order to construct and maintain an effective hierarchical structure in ad hoc networks where mobile devices may move at high mobility, the following requirements must be satisfied. The role of each mobile device for the hierarchical structure is adaptive to dynamic change of the topology of the ad hoc networks. The role of each mobile device should thus change autonomously based on the local information. The overhead for management of the hierarchical structure is small. The number of mobile devices in each cluster should thus be almost equivalent. This paper proposes an adaptive multihop clustering scheme for highly mobile ad hoc networks. The results obtained by extensive simulation experiments show that the proposed scheme does not depend on mobility and node degree of mobile devices in the ad hoc network, which satisfy the above requirements.

  • A simple method for fabricating micro/nanoscale hierarchical structures is presented using a two-step temperature-directed capillary molding technique. This lithographic method involves a sequential application of molding process in which a uniform polymer-coated surface is molded with a patterned mold by means of capillary force above the glass transition temperature of the polymer. Using this approach, multiscale hierarchical structures for biomimetic functional surfaces can be fabricated with precise control over geometrical parameters and the wettability of a solid surface can be designed in a controllable manner.

  • This paper describes motion control system applied to mechatronics devices. It is pointed out that a new approach is necessary to realize a good performance motion control. At first, a motion controller of mechatronics devices is introduced. The controller is constructed from four layer of hierarchical structure. After that two practical examples are presented to introduce the new approach to advanced motion control exactly.

  • In industrial control system used by Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), ladder Diagram(LD) is the must widely utilized and plays an important role in industrial control system. But recently, the study about Sequential Function Chart(SFC) is performed actively. When we program by SFC, generally, we design one routine from start to end. This method is difficult to design, and we often make mistakes. In this paper, we propose the method that we compose each sub-system after we design each sub-system and confirm his feasibility through an actual examples.

  • In this paper, we propose a double network control approach for linear systems. Generally, there are two network control system structures: the direct structure and the hierarchical structure. Here, the hierarchical structure consists of a main controller and a remote controller. The network delay of the structure only appears in the closed loop between the main controller and the remote system. However, the delay can exist between the remote controller and the actuator. Therefore, we design the double network system with delays between the main controller and the remote system, and the remote controller and the actuator. Finally, we carry out simulations on the linear system to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • With the requirement for providing multiple levels of access control for group members, many group key management schemes designed for hierarchical access control have been put forward. However, most of these schemes focus on the efficiency of group key establishment and rekeying in centralized environments. This paper proposes an integrated group key agreement (IGK) scheme for contributory environments. The IGK scheme employs the integrated key graph to remove key redundancies existing in single key trees, and reduces key establishment and rekeying time while providing hierarchical access control. Performance analyses and simulations conducted with respect to computation and communication overheads indicate that our proposed IGK scheme is more efficient than the independent group key agreement scheme.

  • A common control model used to implement computer integrated manufacturing(CIM) is based on the hierarchical decomposition of the shop floor activities, in which supervisory controllers are responsible for all the interactions among subordinates. Although the hierarchical control philosophy provides for easy understanding of complex systems, an emerging manufacturing paradigm, agile manufacturing, requires a new control structure necessary to accommodate the rapid development of a shop floor controller. This is what is called autonomous agent-based heterarchical control. As computing resources and communication network on the shop floor become increasingly intelligent and powerful, the new control architecture is about to come true in a modern CIM system. In this paper, heterarchical control is adopted and investigated, in which a controller for a unit of device performs three main functions - planning, scheduling and execution. Attention is paid to the planning function and all the detailed planning activities for heterarchical shop floor control are identified. Interactions with other functions are also addressed. In general, planning determines tasks to be scheduled in the future. In other words, planning analyzes process plans and transforms process plans into detailed plans adequate for shop floor control. Planning is also responsible for updating a process plan and identifying/resolving replanning activities whether they come from scheduling or execution.

  • The hierarchical routing could cause a lot of energy consumption for transferring data by assigning hierarchical routes although actual nodes could be located in physically near spots. Also, when Node Failure or Association Error occurs, the Hierarchical routing could waste more energy to deliver the control messages. This paper evaluate performance of SHP(Shortest Hop Routing) algorithm that suggests short-cut routing algorithm using NL(Neighbor List) and Redirect_ACK message to improve problem of hierarchical routing algorithm. We do a computer simulation by the size of network, deployment of sensor nodes, sink position and POS. As a result of simulation, SHP has better performance than Zigbee Hierarchical routing and HiLow.
