In Underwater Linear Sensor Networks (UW-LSN) routing process, nodes without proper address make it difficult to determine relative sensor details specially the position of the node. In addition, it effects to determine the exact leakage position with minimized delay for long range underwater pipeline monitoring. Several studies have been made to overcome the mentioned issues. However, little attention has been given to minimize communication delay using dynamic addressing schemes. This paper presents the novel solution called Hop-by-Hop Dynamic Addressing based Routing Protocol for Pipeline Monitoring (H2-DARP-PM) to deal with nodes addressing and communication delay. H2-DARP-PM assigns a dynamic hop address to every participating node in an efficient manner. Dynamic addressing mechanism employed by H2-DARP-PM differentiates the heterogeneous types of sensor nodes thereby helping to control the traffic flows between the nodes. The proposed dynamic addressing mechanism provides support in the selection of an appropriate next hop neighbour. Simulation results and analytical model illustrate that H2-DARP-PM addressing support distribution of topology into different ranges of heterogeneous sensors and sinks to mitigate the higher delay issue. One of the distinguishing characteristics of H2-DARP-PM has the capability to operate with a fewer number of sensor nodes deployed for long-range underwater pipeline monitoring.

In this paper, we propose a power control technique for D2D communication in the heterogenous network consisting of cellular and D2D communication systems. Although the transmit signal of D2D communication degrades the performance of cellular system by interfering the signal reception at CU in the conventional heterogenous networks without eavesdroppers, it can be utilized as jamming signal for preventing other devices from recovering the transmitted information if there are eavesdroppers in the network. The proposed power control technique maximizes the achievable rate of D2D communication while ensuring the target security performance of cellular communication system. Through simulation results, we validate the analysis results and compare the performance with the conventional D2D communication scheme that utilizes its full transmit power for maximizing the achievable rate regardless of the performance of cellular system.
Recently, the technology of device-to-device(D2D) communication has been receiving big attention to improve the system performance since the amount of high quality/large capacity data traffic from smart phones and various devices of Internet of Things increase rapidly in 5G/6G based next generation cellular networks. However, even though the system performance of macro cells increase by reusing the frequency, the performance of macro user equipments(MUEs) decrease because of the strong interference from D2D user equipments(DUEs). Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic channel management(DCM) scheme for DUEs to guarantee the performance of MUEs as the number of DUEs increases in next generation downlink cellular networks. In the proposed D2D DCM scheme, macro base stations dynamically assign subchannels to DUEs based on the interference information and signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR) of MUEs. Simulation results show that the proposed D2D DCM scheme outperforms other schemes in terms of the mean MUE capacity as the threshold of the SINR of MUEs incareases.
The purpose of this study is to propose a topological design principles and to analyze the space of digital architecture applying topological invariant expressive characteristics. As this study is based on topology as a science of true world's pattern, we intented to explain the concepts and provide some methods of low-level and hyperspace topological invariant Properties. Four major aspects are discussed. Those are connection theory, boundary concept, homotopy group, knot Pattern theory as topological invariant properties. Then we intented to make understand topological characteristics of the Algorithms, luring machine, cellular automata, string theory, membrane, DNA and supramolecular chemistry. In fine, the topological invariant properties of the digital architecture as genetic algorithms based on self-organization and heterogeneous networks of interacting actors can be analyzed and used as a critical tool. Therefore topology can be provided endless possibilities for architecture, designers and scientists intended in expressing the more complex and organic patterns of nature as life.

In order to improve the Quality-of-Service (QoS) of latency sensitive applications in next-generation cellular networks, multi-path is adopted to transmit packet stream in real-time to achieve high-quality video transmission in heterogeneous wireless networks. However, multi-path also introduces two important challenges: out-of-order issue and reordering delay. In this paper, we propose a new architecture based on Software Defined Network (SDN) for flow aggregation and flow splitting, and then design a Multiple Access Radio Scheduling (MARS) scheme based on relative Round-Trip Time (RTT) measurement. The QoS metrics including end-to-end delay, throughput and the packet out-of-order problem at the receiver have been investigated using the extensive simulation experiments. The performance results show that this SDN architecture coupled with the proposed MARS scheme can reduce the end-to-end delay and the reordering delay time caused by packet out-of-order as well as achieve a better throughput than the existing SMOS and Round-Robin algorithms.

This paper introduces a multi-cell search method for heterogeneous networks (HetNet), in which user equipments need to search multiple cells in its vicinity simultaneously. Due to the difficulty of acquiring channel informations for multiple cells, a non-coherent approach is preferred. In this paper, a non-coherent single-cell search scheme using a weighted vector is proposed, and the successive interference cancellation based multi-cell search algorithm is devised. In order to improve cell search performance, the weighted vector is designed in a way to exploit the general characteristic of wireless channel. Based on the fact that the performance of the proposed single-cell search scheme deviates slowly from the one using the optimal weighted vector, a universal weighted vector is also proposed, which shows the performance close to the optimal ones for various channel environments and signal-to-noise ratio regimes. Simulation results confirm that the proposed multi-cell search algorithm is capable of identifying cells more accurately with the help of the proposed single-cell search scheme, and can detect the remaining cells more effectively by removing the signals of the identified cells from the received signal.

With the widespread of the wireless Internet and wireless LAN, different wireless technologies such as 3G cellular networks and WLAN will cooperate to support more users and applications with higher data rate over wider areas. When a mobile node moves around in the hybrid networks, it needs to perform seamless vertical handoffs between different wireless networks to provide high performance data transmission. When an application with TCP connection in a mobile node performs a vertical handoff, TCP performance is degraded due to packet losses even though it maintains the previous TCP state information during handoff, because 3G and WLAN have different available bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a new congestion control algorithm for vertical handoff to improve the TCP performance by measuring the rough end-to-end available bandwidth and calculating the slow-start threshold. By ns-2 simulation, we show that the proposed algorithm enhances the TCP performance during vertical handoffs compared to the previous algorithms.
Small cell networks, as an important evolution path for next-generation cellular networks, have drawn much attention. Different from the traditional base stations (BSs) always-on model, we proposed a BSs on-off model, where a new, simple expression for the probabilities of active BSs in a heterogeneous network is derived. This model is more suitable for application in practical networks. Based on this, we develop an analytical framework for the performance evaluation of small cell networks, adopting stochastic geometry theory. We derive the system coverage probability; average energy efficiency (AEE) and average uplink power consumption (AUPC) for different association strategies; maximum biased received power (MaBRP); and minimum association distance (MiAD). It is analytically shown that MaBRP is beneficial for coverage but will have some loss in energy saving. On the contrary, MiAD is not advocated from the point of coverage but is more energy efficient. The simulation results show that the use of range expansion in MaBRP helps to save energy but that this is not so in MiAD. Furthermore, we can achieve an optimal AEE by establishing an appropriate density of small cells.

Due to advances in wireless communication technology and increasing demand for various types of wireless access, cellular, WLAN, and portable internet(such as WiBro and IEEE 802.16) systems are likely to be integrated into a unified wireless access system. This expectation premises the availability of multi-mode handsets and cooperative interworking of heterogenous wireless access networks allied by roaming contracts. Under such environments, a user may lie in the situation where more than one wireless accesses are available at his/her location, and he/she will want to choose the 'best' access among them. In this paper, we define the 'best' access(es) as the access(es) that charges minimum cost while fulfilling the required QoS of wireless access, and address the problem of choosing the optimal set of accesses theoretically by introducing a graph representation of service environment. Two optimal selection algorithms are proposed, which individually consider cases where single or multiple wireless access can be supported by multi-mode handsets.

We propose Femto-cell power control scheme in HeNet with Game Theory. The Femto-cell which provide high quality with low power is issued by many benefits, however there is a bunch of interferences when many Femto-cells use overlapped bandwidth with Macro-cell. We defined base station of cellular networks and mobile users as players of Game Theory, and configured interference effect among each other as power utility function. Futhermore, we showed enhanced overall system performance, lower power usage and interference decrease by using optimal power.
