감성적 소비성향과 패션소재의 감성요소에 대한 선호도 연구 (A Study of Emotional Consumption Propensity and Preferences for Sensibility Factors of the Fabrics)

  • 본 연구에서는 성인 남녀 소비자를 대상으로 감성적 소비성향과 패션소재의 감성요소(색채 톤, 무늬, 질감이미지)에 대한 선호도를 조사하여 인구 통계적 특성에 따른 차이를 분석하고, 감성적 소비성향과 패션소재의 감성요소 선호도의 관련성을 분석하였다. 감성적 소비성향을 요인분석한 결과, 과시적 소비성향, 개성적 소비성향, 심미적 소비성향, 쾌락적 소비성향 등 4요인으로 분류되었다. 조사대상자들은 심미적 소비성향, 개성적 소비성향, 상징적 소비성향의 순으로 중요시하였는데, 감성적 소비성향은 인구 통계적 특성에 따라 부분적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 패션소재의 감성요소에 대한 선호도를 인구 통계적 특성에 따른 차이를 분석한 결과, 여성이 남성보다 다양한 색채 톤을 선호하였고 밝은 색채 톤에 대한 선호도는 성과 직업에서 유의한 차이를 나타내었으며, 플로럴 무늬에 대한 선호도는 성, 연령, 학력, 직업, 결혼여부 등에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 패션소재의 질감이미지 선호도는 학력을 제외한 인구 통계적 특성에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 한편, 성인 남녀 소비자의 감성적 소비성향과 감성요소 선호도 요인 간에는 대다수 유의한 상관이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

패스트푸드 레스토랑의 소비가치가 고객만족, 행동의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Consumption Values on Customer Satisfaction and Behavior Intention in Fast-Food Restaurants)

  • Purpose - Until recently, studies on customer values for restaurants recognized two path structures; the SERVQUAL model, that is, service quality? perceived value? customer satisfaction? behavioral intention, and the customer value? customer satisfaction? behavioral intention path that categorizes customer values into functional value and hedonic value. This study, instead, classifies the consumption values of fast-food restaurants based on the consumption value system provided by Sheth, Newman and Gross (1991) and illustrates the new path structure, consumption value? customer satisfaction? behavioral intention, targeting college students for a generalization of the consumption value system of fast-food restaurants. Research design, data, and methodology - This study establishes five hypotheses based on the relationship between each type of consumption value (functional, emotional, social, and epistemic) and customer satisfaction, and the relationship between customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. For this analysis, data was collected by conducting a pre-test and administering a survey to 213 college students who are regular customers at fast-food restaurants in Seoul, Korea. The data collected was then analyzed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 6.0 statistical packages. Results - The study showed that: First, the consumption values of fast-food restaurants are classified into the following four categories: functional value, emotional value, social value, and epistemic value while consumption value can be applied to customer value of fast-food restaurants. Second, the functional and epistemic values had a positive impact on customer satisfaction. The resulting satisfaction is attributed to the intrinsic characteristics of fast-food restaurants like the consistent quality of food, reasonable prices, fast service, and unique or new experiences on every visit. On the other hand, emotional and social values did not affect customer satisfaction. The results on emotional value differed from the general studies on restaurants while the results obtained for social value were not consistent with the studies on high-end restaurants. Third, customer satisfaction had a positive impact on behavioral intention. The survey showed that college students reflected behavioral intention - repurchase intention and word-of-mouth - if they were satisfied with the food quality and employee services provided. Simultaneously, it was seen that the impact of functional value on customer satisfaction of fast food restaurant goers was more than that of epistemic value. Conclusions - The consumption values of fast-food restaurant users could be classified into four categories, functional, emotional, social and epistemic values, based on the consumption value system provided by Sheth, Newman and Gross (1991). It proved that the customer values of restaurant goers can be extended to the path structure of consumption value? customer satisfaction? behavioral intention to confirm its generalization. The study also showed that marketing managers need to focus more on the factors that influence functional value as the fast-food restaurant users consider timely services with the consistent quality of food at a reasonable price and at a convenient place more important than the new experiences or uniqueness.

중국 중서부 지역(운남성) 대학생들의 소비자 행동연구(제 2보): 의복추구혜택에 따른 세분시장의 소비자특성 (A Study of College students's Consumer Behavior of the Midwest(Yunnam) in China(Part II): The Consumer's Traits of Market Segmentation Based on the Apparel Benefits)

  • This study investigates consumer's traits of market segmentation based on the apparel benefits. The subjects were 302 college students living in Yunnam, China. The mean, ANOVA, factor analysis, Duncan test, and K-means cluster analysis were used for statisticals analysis. The results of this study are as follows. The college students were classified, into six subdivisions, according to the apparel benefits by cluster analysis: indifference group, utility pursuit group, hedonic/brand pursuit group, individuality pursuit group, social recognition/fashion pursuit group, and pursuit benefits-minded group. In the factors of happiness-pursuing and life-centered of materialism, significant differences were found according to the groups of apparel benefits, and all factors of symbolic consumption and brand loyalty were found to have significant differences according to the groups of apparel benefits. The evaluation criteria of clothing were significantly different, depending on apparel benefits subdivision in criteria of aesthetic, socio-psychological, and utility. The use of information was shown to have significant differences, according to the groups of apparel benefits. The study results are highly expected to be utilized as useful sources in marketing plans for the midwest of China.

Affective and Cognitive Social Presence in Chinese Live Commerce -Consumption Value as a Mediator-

  • This study aims to clarify the implications of rapidly growing live commerce in China by examining the multifaceted aspects of social presence, in particular to help small commerce operators and platform companies. It examines the effect of cognitive and affective social presence on consumer engagement by evaluating consumption values and trust in streamers. In this survey study, the responses of 221 individuals residing in large cities of China were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results showed that cognitive social presence had a positive effect on consumer engagement by mediating the utilitarian value and trust in streamers. Furthermore, affective social presence had a positive effect on consumer engagement through the hedonic value and trust in streamers. Thus, our research provides a new perspective to approaching a multidimensional social presence and understanding consumer behavior in live commerce. Moreover, it contributes to the application and expansion of social presence theory in this field.

온 오프라인 환경에 따른 경험의 활용과 경험디자인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Experience Design and Practical Use of Experience by On- and Off-Line Environment)

  • 과거의 소비자는 있어야 하는 진에 대한 결핍상태로부터 원래의 균형상태로 나아가고자 하는 공리적(utilitarian)이고 방어적인(defensive) 소비를 추구하였다. 그러나 오늘날의 소비자는 이를 넘어서서, 감각(sensation) 그 자체는 아닐지라도 쾌락적(hedonic)이고 창의적인(creative) 이유로 더 많은 소비를 하고 있다. 제품, 서비스의 특징이나 사용편익, 품질 등을 통해 기본적 욕구를 충족시키는 소비에서 제품, 서비스 등이 제공하는 독특한 가치체계와 생활양식 그리고 이를 사용하면서 얻게 되는 총체적인 '경험(experience)'을 더 중요하게 추구하는 '경험소비의 시대'를 맞게 된 것이다. 오늘날 경험은 온 오프라인을 아우르는 다양한 영역에서 활용기고 있다. 이러한 시대적 요구는 디자인의 영역에서도 경험을 전략적으로 활용하고자 하는 경험디자인(experience design)을 탄생시켰고, 그에 대한 기초연구가 점차 증가하고 있다. 그러나 경험디자인이 어떠한 개념을 가지고 있으며, 어떠한 목적을 가지고 있는지 조차 이해하지 못한 채 수행되는 연구나 적용은 그 과정이나 방법이 본질을 벗어날 가능성이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 오늘날 경험을 경제적 가치로 인식하고 이를 실질적으로 활용하고 있는 분야를 중심으로 경험의 활용 개념과 한계를 밝혀 디자인 영역에서 적용될 수 있는 경험의 의미적 체계를 확립하고 수용되고 소통될 수 있는 경험디자인의 개념과 목전을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 온라인 환경에서 활용되는 경험의 주된 개념은 오프라인 환경에 익숙해져 있는 사용자 경험을 온라인 환경에 반영하여 그 환경을 친밀감 있고 익숙하게 구현해줌으로써 그 매체를 사용자가 편하게 사용할 수 있도록 해주는 사용성 증진을 위한 개념임을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 사용자를 놀랍게 만든다 거나 흥미와 재미를 유발시키는 경험이 아니라 사용자를 편하게 만들 수 있는 경험이어야 한다는 것이다. 오프라인 환경에서 활용되는 경험의 개념은 사용자의 감성을 충족시킬 수 있는 도구로써, 미래지향적 새로운 소비자 가치를 창조하고자 하는 노력으로 요약될 수 있었다. 이는 소비자 행동에 대한 이해를 기반으로 더욱 뛰어난 감각적 경험과 감성적 경험 등을 복합적으로 제공함으로써 소비자의 소비 경험을 극대화하고 고정된 제품 특성에서 확장된 새로운 경험을 창조하도록 하여 기존 경험을 강화하고자 한다. 또 즐거움과 재미, 기타 독특한 체험을 통해 소비자에게 유희라는 쾌락적 경험을 제공하고자 한다.

한국인의 건강행태 유형에 관한 연구 (Health Behavior Patterns of Korean)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify population subgroups with similar patterns of diet quality, physical activity, alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking of Korean. The cluster analysis was conducted using the data from Korea National Health Survey(KNHS) in 1995, which consisted of 5,805 persons. We identified six health behavior typologies : 32.9% of the sample had a good diet but sedentary activity level(good diet lifestyle), 7.2% had high activity level but less diet quality(fitness lifestyle). Individuals in the passive lifestyle cluster(39.1%) had no active health promoting activities but tended to avoid risk taking health behavior such as cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking. 1.1% of the sample were in a drinking cluster, 17.2% in a smoking cluster and 2.5% had a hedonic lifestyle characterized by heavy drinking and smoking. The other characteristics of these lifestyle clusters could be presented by demographic and socioeconomic factors.

친환경인증제도가 주택가격에 미치는 영향 분석 (Impact of Green Building Rating System on an Apartment Housing Price)

  • Because energy consumption of the construction part is very high, there is a growing need to introduce environment-friendly buildings. Therefore Green Building Rating System is enacted in Korea. Though environment-friendly factors such as green area affect the apartment housing price, there's no saying whether Green Building Rating System directly affect the apartment housing price. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the impact of Green Building Rating System on an apartment housing price. The analysis result demonstrated that Green Building Rating System don't affect the apartment housing price. This result means that there is a problem with the effectiveness of Green Building Rating System. The government ought to institute incentive program to ctivate the market of environment-friendly building.

The Factors influencing Customer Satisfaction with and Revisiting Coffee Shops in Korea: The Moderating Roles of Psychological Value

  • This study aims to find what attributes of consumer satisfaction are more important when consumers choose coffee shops. Factors when customers choose coffee shops that are considered to be more crucial, such as taste, price, brand, and atmosphere, were tested and also relations between satisfaction and revisit were studied. As a result, factors as 'taste', 'price', 'brand', and 'atmosphere' were found to significantly affect satisfaction; in addition, the path that satisfaction leads to revisit was found to be significant. However, consumers' coffee shop selection attributes differed depending on their psychological consumption value. The path-coefficients from taste and price to satisfaction were more significant in the function-oriented group, meanwhile the path-coefficient from brand to satisfaction was significant in the emotion-oriented group (+) and the function-oriented group (-). The results of this study suggest attributes of selecting coffee shops and provide meaningful implications of consumer value when they choose the attributes.

Brain Mechanisms of Cognitive, Emotional and Behavioral Aspects of Taste

  • Taste is associated with hedonic evaluation as well as recognition of quality and intensity. Taste information is sent to the cortical gustatory area in a chemotopical manner to be processed for discrimination of taste quality. It is also conveyed to the reward system and feeding center via the prefrontal cortices. The amygdala, which receives taste inputs, also influences reward and feeding. In terms of neuroactive substances, palatability is closely related to benzodiazepine derivatives and $\beta$-endorphin, both of which facilitate consumption of food and fluid. The reward system contains the ventral tegmental area, nucleus accumbens and ventral pallidum and finally sends information to the lateral hypothalamic area, the feeding center. The dopaminergic system originating from the ventral tegmental area mediates the motivation to consume palatable food. The actual ingestive behavior is promoted by the orexigenic neuropeptides from the hypothalamus. Even palatable food can become aversive and avoided as a consequence of postingestional unpleasant experience such as malaise. The brain mechanism of these aspects of taste is elucidated.

Influences of Motivations on Interactivity in the Live Streaming Commerce

  • Purpose: This study focuses how motivations influence interactivity in the live streaming commerce context. Live streaming commerce involves the provision of e-commerce activities and transactions via a live streaming platform that offers real-time interaction, entertainment, social activities, and commerce. The purpose of study is to examine effects of motivations on perceived interactivity and the effects of perceived interactivity on attitude and intention to use the live streaming commerce. Research design, data and methodology: The study investigates key questions about consumers' motivation to use live streaming commerce and perceived interactivity by surveying 300 users of live commerce. Participants were asked whether they were live streaming commerce users who had experienced live streaming commerce before participating in the survey. The full survey required live streaming commerce users to respond to all the questions. Results: The study uncovered motivations for using live streaming commerce by finding information, entertainment, pass time, fashion/status and real time and perceived interactivity in the live streaming commerce. The results indicated motivation to use live streaming commerce positively influenced perceived interactivity. Perceived interactivity had positive effects on attitude toward brand. Attitude toward brand had positive effects on intention to use. Conclusions: Live streaming commerce is getting increasing attention from marketers because live streaming commerce has seamlessly integrated commerce, social activities, and hedonic factors. This study clarifies motivations and perceived interactivity in the live streaming commerce context. The study uncovers the relationships between motivations, perceived interactivity, attitude, and intention to use that contributes to the theoretical foundation and practical implications for marketing and management in the live streaming commerce context. Specifically, the study develops the theoretical contributions to perceived interactivity in the in the live streaming commerce context. The results also contribute to the practical implications for new marketing strategies that provides dynamic real-time interaction, exact information, and social and hedonic factors to attract consumers to indulge in the consumption processes. Marketing practitioners will obtain insights that can help them develop and manage brand strategies by understanding the influence of motivation and perceived interactivity in the live commerce context, which offers opportunities for contactless marketing and management.
