The quick variation of the canister wall temperature causes the modification of the shape of canister wall. This paper is the possibility of adoption and the error analysis about the transient heat flux method. The commercial code(Fluent Ver6.2.16) was employed for the calculation of surface temperature in the case of steady and unsteady heat flux condition. Based the surface temperature variation and surface material property, transient heat flux method can calculate the surface heat flux. In the case of steady heat flux condition, the error is about 2%, and in the case of unsteady heat flux condition, the error is about 3.6%. With the unsteady heat flux condition, the time which reach the maximum surface heat flux is almost same between the numerical analysis and transient heat flux method.

In this study an the development of the heat flux sensor with thermocouple, the heat-treated adhesive type film nickel gauge(Ni-Gauge) for measuring temperature was used. and this Ni-Gauge is not only comparable for platinum gauge(Pt-Gauge) in linearity, but also economically cheap. And from this viewpoint. numerical analysis is essential to investigate charateristics of sensor, since this analysis is capable of simulating precise boudary condition and practical conditions and so on. By the way. there are many types of heat flux sensor. of which adhesive type flux sensor is common, in the study this type of heat flux sensor was chogen. and analysis of the sensor is considered as a kind of open cavity figure. performed by SIMPLER algorithm. As a result. through temperature distributial of the sensor by numerical analysis in steady and unsteady state, the dracteristics of the acdhesive type heat flux sensor(lst heat flux sensor) acooodinge to heat flux, that is, outvoltage, sensitivity. and responsibilty could be evaluated. in addition, time of improved heat flux sensor(2nd heat flux sensor) could be predicted fran the reflectian of proper operating temperature(l50 $^{\circ}C$)of theNi-Gauge.
The present study was motivated by increasing demands on quantitative measurements of the heat flux through the water cooling and quenching process of hot steel. The local heat flux measurements are employed by a novel experimental technique that has a function of high-temperature heat flux gauge in which test block assemblies are directly used to measure the heat flux variation during water cooling and quenching of hot steel. The heat flux can be directly achieved by Fourier's law and is also compared with numerical estimation which is solved by inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP). The high-temperature heat flux gauge developed in this study can be applicable to measure cooling rate and history during the actual cooling applications of steelmaking process. In addition, the measurement uncertainty of heat flux is calculated by a quantitative uncertainty analysis which is based on the ANSI/ASME PTC 19.1-2005 standard.
This study aims to evaluate theoretically heat transfer characteristics and heat flux performance in ondol system of dried type is composed of panel of ceramics to improve of thermal conductivity and fin to expand heat. To this end, we analyzed effect of design factors(temperature of hot water, set temperature of room and thermal conductivity of finishing materials) in ondol system of dried type by heat transfer analysis. The main results of this study are summarized as follows; The deviation of heat flux and temperature was reduced by heat expansion from fin decreasing heat loss generated in air layer. The temperature and heat flux in upper finishing materials surface linearly increased according to temperature increment of hot water, but the temperature distribution in upper surface was assessed uneven. The greater heat resistance value of upper finishing materials, the deviation of maximum temperature and minimum temperature was decreased. Also, we suggested a basic design data about ondol system of dried type through an analysis of simulation results on heat transfer characteristics and heat flux performance.

In this study, the instantaneous heat flux measurement probe and the linkage system for the measurement of the instantaneous temperature and heat flux of the DI mono cylinder diesel engine were developed, and these were proved to have a good reliability and sensibility. A 3-D FEM model which consist of full piston to accommodate the eccentric bowl in the piston head, was applied for the analysis of the thermal stress and the temperature distribution. The mean heat flux on the piston head was used as boundary condition for the analysis of piston. The analysis showed that thermal stress concentrate on the bowl and inner surface of pin hall.

In this study on the development of the heat flux sensor, unlike the common heat-flux sensor with thermocouple, the heat-treated adhesive-tupe film nickel-gauge was used in measuring temperature. The proposed its Ni-gauge is bound to be compatible with platinum gauge(Pt-Gauge) in its linearity. It is also considered to be cheap in economical sense. In the evaluation of it's performance, the numerical analysis is essential to investigate charateristics of proper sensor and the adequate analsis is depended upon boundary conditions and actual conditions. There are many types of heat flux sensor in the market, and adhexive type flux sensor is most common. In the present investigation, this type of heat flux sensor had been chosen. The figure of the sensor under consideration is an open cavity type, which is calculated numerically by SIMPLER algorithm. The temperature distributions of the sensor predicted by numerical calculation for steady and unsteady states are able to give the chacteristics of the adhesive type heat flux sensor(1st heat flux sensor) according to the heat flux. It means that the outvoltage, the sensitivity, and the performances of responsibility could be evaluated as a result. Through this analysis improved heat flux sensor(2nd heat flux sensor) could be predicted with the reflection of proper operating temperature($150^{\circ}C$) of the Ni-gauge.
Though it was difficult of globally monitor latent heat flux aver the ocean for many years, the situation is rapidly changing by the use of satellite data. Since a bulk formula is used to estimate turbulent heat flux using satellite data, we need wind speed, sea surface temperature and specific humidity data. However, it is not easy to accurately estimate specific humidity using satellite data. Now several algorithms for estimating specific humidity have been proposed and applied to construct latent heat flux data sets. Latent heat flux data sets derived from satellite data such as J-OFURO, HOAPS and GSSTF are available at present. Since the algorithm and used satellite data are not the same between them. the characteristics of each data set may be different. Therefore, it is important to clarify the difference between each data set and investigate the cause of the difference in latent heat flux estimates. In this paper we summarize the present state of the art with regard to the turbulent heat flux estimation by using satellite data. Also we present the comparison results of latent heat flux fields including not only satellite-derived flux fields but also analysis fields.
This study focuses on analysis and comparison of entropy generation in various cross-sectional ducts along with fully developed laminar flow and constant uniform wall heat flux. The obtained results were compared in ducts with circular, semicircular, and rectangular with semicircular ends, equilateral triangular, and square and symmetrical hexagonal cross-sectional areas. These results were separately studied for aspect ratio of different rectangular shapes. Characteristics of fluid were considered at average temperature between outlet and inlet ducts. Results showed that factors such as Reynolds number, cross section, hydraulic diameter, heat flux and aspect ratio were effective on entropy generation, and these effects are more evident than heat flux and occur more in high heat fluxes. Considering the performed comparisons, it seems that semicircular and circular cross section generates less entropy than other cross sections.
In this study, using 16 ORA-IP (Ocean Reanalysis Intercomparison Project) data, we investigated spatial and temporal changes of net surface heat flux in the East Asian seas and presented a new ensemble net surface heat flux index. The ensemble net surface heat flux index is produced considering the data distribution and the standard deviation of each ORA-IP. From the correlation analysis with air temperature averaged over the Korean Peninsula, ensemble net heat flux around the Korea Strait shows the highest correlation (0.731) with a 3 month time lag. For the correlation study regarding precipitation over the Korean Peninsula, it also shows significant correlation especially in winter and spring seasons. Similar results are also found in comparison with climate indices (AO, PDO, and NINO3.4), but ensemble net surface heat flux data in winter season reveals the strongest correlation patterns especially with winter temperature and spring precipitation.
