Floating Zone법에 의한 Spodumene 단결정 성장 (Spodumene Single Crystal Growth by FZ Method)

  • 적외선 할로겐 lamp를 열원으로 하는 image furnace을 사용하는 Floating Zone process를 이용하여 Spodumene$(LiAlLi_2O_6)$ 단결정을 성장하였다. 결정의 길이는 50~60mm, 직경 6~8mm였고 dopant에 따라 녹색, 흑색, 연한 녹색의 결정을 얻었다. Spodumene 조성의 고찰을 위해 XRD와 FTIF을 조사하였으며, Laue back reflection pattern을 통해 결정성을 고찰하였다. 결정의 광투과도 측정을 위해 optical transmittance를 측정하였다.

  • A grating composed of elliptical cylinders (GEC), specially designed, is applicable to control of radiation heat transfer from a heated surface, as reported in our previous work. In this study, an analysis of radiation heat transfer is performed for a physical model in which the GEC is placed in front of a heated black-base surface and the major axes of the elliptical cylinders are inclined as a certain angle from the normal to the row of elliptical cylinders. Numerical solutions are obtained. Variations of the direction and the radiative energy concentration with slant angle of the major axis are shown for some parameters. It is verified that the GEC is able to widely change the direction of radiation heat transfer from the heated surface.

접착형 박막 온도측정 게이지식 열전대센서의 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Heat Flux Sensor Using Adhesive Type Film Gauge for Measuring Temperature)

  • In this study on the development of the heat flux sensor, unlike the common heat-flux sensor with thermocouple, the heat-treated adhesive-tupe film nickel-gauge was used in measuring temperature. The proposed its Ni-gauge is bound to be compatible with platinum gauge(Pt-Gauge) in its linearity. It is also considered to be cheap in economical sense. In the evaluation of it's performance, the numerical analysis is essential to investigate charateristics of proper sensor and the adequate analsis is depended upon boundary conditions and actual conditions. There are many types of heat flux sensor in the market, and adhexive type flux sensor is most common. In the present investigation, this type of heat flux sensor had been chosen. The figure of the sensor under consideration is an open cavity type, which is calculated numerically by SIMPLER algorithm. The temperature distributions of the sensor predicted by numerical calculation for steady and unsteady states are able to give the chacteristics of the adhesive type heat flux sensor(1st heat flux sensor) according to the heat flux. It means that the outvoltage, the sensitivity, and the performances of responsibility could be evaluated as a result. Through this analysis improved heat flux sensor(2nd heat flux sensor) could be predicted with the reflection of proper operating temperature($150^{\circ}C$) of the Ni-gauge.

  • 인간은 보다 질 높은 생활환경속에서 쾌적한 생활을 영위하기 위하여 친 환경적인 도시개발사업과 환경 복원사업에 많은 관심을 가지고 있다. 특히 대규모 개발사업의 경우 복원 전후의 기상환경변화 분석과 지속적인 모니터링 수행은 최근 국민적 관심인 열섬완화 효과와 바람 길조성 등과 같은 환경개선 분야에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 서울시 청계천을 대상으로 복원 전후의 지표 열 분포도를 작성하고 열 환경 변화를 분석하여 복원 후에 지표온도가 낮게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 이를 위하여 ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Reflection Radiometer)의 TIR(Thermal Infrared) 영상자료를 이용하여 도시 지표면의 온도를 추출한 후 AWS(Automatic Weather System) 기상관측자료와의 상관성 분석하였다. 향후 청계천 주변의 지표 열 패턴변화에 대한 이해와 도시 하천과 녹지의 열 완화 효과를 정량화하여 상세 도시기상 모델 개발 인프라를 마련할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

탄성파 자료에서 나타난 울릉분지내 가스수화물의 증거와 특성 (Seismic Evidence and Characteristics of Gas Hydrate in the Ulleung Basin)

  • 동해에서 얻은 다중채널 탄성파 프로파일에서 울릉분지의 해저평원에 강한 bottom simulating reflector (BSR)가 해저면에서 왕복주시로 약 210 ms 아래에 존재하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이 BSR은 주변의 층서를 자르고 진폭이 매우 크며 해저면 반사신호에 대해 극성이 반대이므로 가스수화물 안정영역의 기저(BHSZ)를 나타낸다고 볼 수 있다. BSR의 반사계수는 -0.23에서 -0.26으로 매우 높은데 해저면 반사계수의 1.5${\sim}$1.7배이며 그 아래 구간속도가 800 m/s 이하로 감소한다. 이러한 특징은 BHSZ 아래에 가스가 존재하는 것을 지시한다. BSR의 깊이로부터 추정한 지열은 $95{\sim}98mW/m^2$로서 지금까지 측정된 값과 잘 일치한다. 따라서 BSR은 울릉분지에서 광역적인 지열의 분포를 추정하는 데에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다.

  • Active thermography is being used since several years for remote non-destructive testing. It provides thermal images for remote detection and imaging of damages. Also, it is based on propagation and reflection of thermal waves which are launched from the surface into the inspected component by absorption of modulated radiation. For energy deposition, it use external heat sources (e.g., halogen lamp or convective heating) or internal heat generation (e.g., microwaves, eddy current, or elastic wave). Among the external heat sources, the ultrasound is generally used for energy deposition because of defect selective heating up. The heat source generating a thermal wave is provided by the defect itself due to the attenuation of amplitude modulated ultrasound. A defect causes locally enhanced losses and consequently selective heating up. Therefore amplitude modulation of the injected ultrasonic wave turns a defect into a thermal wave transmitter whose signal is detected at the surface by thermal infrared camera. This way ultrasound thermography(UT) allows for selective defect detection which enhances the probability of defect detection in the presence of complicated intact structures. In this paper the applicability of UT for fast defect detection is described. Examples are presented showing the detection of defects in PCB material. Measurements were performed on various kinds of typical defects in PCB materials (both Cu metal and non-metal epoxy). The obtained thermal image reveals area of defect in row of thick epoxy material and PCB.

$Ni_{0.5}Cu_{0.1}Zn_{0.4}Fe_2O_4$ Ferrite-Rubber Composite의 전파흡수특성에 미치는 열처리 온도의 영향 및 Carbon 첨가효과 (Effect of Carbon Addition and Influence of Heat-treatment Temperature on Electromagnetic Wave Absorbing Properties of $Ni_{0.5}Cu_{0.1}Zn_{0.4}Fe_2O_4$-Rubber Composite)

  • The structure, shape, size, and magnetic properties of Ni$_{0.5}$Cu$_{0.1}$Zn$_{0.4}$Fe$_2$O$_4$ have been investigated as a function of annealing temperatures. In order to control the microwave absorbing properties of ferrite-rubber composite and the complex losses (magnetic loss and conduction loss), the effect of carbon addition was also studied. It was found that the coercive force decreased with increasing heat-treatment temperatures. Relative complex permeability and reflection loss were measured by the network analyzer. As a result, the natural resonance occurred in the low frequency tinge, and the matching frequency of the ferrite-rubber composite prepared at 130$0^{\circ}C$ was found to be lower. As heat-treatment temperatures were increased, the magnetic loss ($\mu$$_{r}$", $\mu$$_{r}$′) and the dielectric loss ($\varepsilon$$_{r}$"/$\varepsilon$$_{r}$′) were increased. It was caused that the absorption characteristics of the absorber were improved. The conduction loss and magnetic loss were expected to be occurred together because two matching frequencies were shown with carbon addition. It was confirmed that the matching frequency of the microwave absorber could be controlled by controlling heat-treatment temperatures and carbon additions.ons.tions.

초음파 측정법을 이용한 정상상태의 푸울비등 연구 (Stydy of Pool Boiling under Steady State using Ultrasonic Measurement)

  • A recently developed new technique for measuring the fraction of wetted area has applied to pool boiling of water. The basis of the new applied technique of ultrasonic makes use of the reflection of ultrasonic from the vapour surface to measure the fraction of wetted area values. The results are the measured fraction of wetted area values in nucleate and transition boiling and the pool boiling curve for water under steady state conditions. The measurement of this paper shows a fraction of wetted areaf around 0.98 at the critical heat flux for water.

  • Laser welding has the advantage of high welding speed and Provides low heat distortion Thus laser welding is a very attractive process for joining thin steel sheet and surface treated steel sheet. And the major item in market for surface treated steel sheet is zinc coated steel. However. the laser welding of zinc coated steel is very difficult because of its low boiling point. Compared with zinc, on the other hand, aluminum has a high boiling point. Thus, laser weldability of aluminized steel is better than that of zinc coated steel. Moreover aluminized steel sheet is a material with excellent heat resistance, thermal reflection and corrosion resistance. The results of laser weldability of the aluminized steel for the full penetration welding will be described in this paper We focused on the investigation of the phenomenons caused by coating condition and behavior of aluminum in weld.

열처리에 따른 Cu/Cr 다층 박막의 미세 조직 관찰 (Microstructural Observation of Cu/Cr Multilayers by Heat Treatment)

  • Copper-chromium multilayers with a nominal bilayer thickness of about 400 $\AA$ (200 $\AA$ each) were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering and the evolution of microstructure during heat treatment was investigated by using x-ray diffractometry(XRD), Auger electron spectroscopy(AES) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). It was observed that an amorphous phase with a thickness of about 40 $\AA$ was formed at the interfaces of the as-deposited Cu/Cr multilayered film using cross-sectional TEM. At elevated temperatures, the Cu(111) reflection showed increasing intensity and decreasing line-width as a result of copper grain growth. The intermixed amorphous phase disappeared after annealing at $250^{\circ}C$ for 1 h and the multilayer structure was stable up to $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h annealing. At $600^{\circ}C$ annealing, it was observed that the multilayer structure was completely destroyed and copper and chromium phases were fully intermixed.
