노동조합 유무에 따른 위험정보 제공수준 차이 분석 (The comparison of provision of risk information between employees with labour union and non labour union)

  • Risk information may be one of the most important factor for worker's safe behavior because that safe behavior can be oriented by attitude based on risk information. Traditionally KAP(knowledge, attitude and practice) model was useful frame for the change of human behavior. Knowledge is formed by information through experience and education. Worker's health may be prevented by his or her own active safe behavior based on risk information. This paper is to investigate the effect of labor union on the provirion of risk information by labor union. Data for analysis is the third Korean Working Conditions Survey done by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute in 2011. The sample size is 50,032 economic active person surveyed by household interview survey with structure questionnaire by trained interviewer. The difference of risk information provision among employees was tested by mean difference test. The level of risk information of employees of companies with labor union is higher than that with non labour union. This paper has some implication for the promotion of safe behavior of employees through risk information provision mediated by labor union. Some limitation of this study may be considered because of using the cross sectional survey data.

모연취급 사업장에서의 산업보건사업이 근로자 건강증진에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Occupational Health Service on the Improvement of Worker’s Health in a Lead Using Industry)

  • For the purpose of investigating the effect of occupational health service in terms of environmental control and health provision of workers on the improvement of worker's health, authors analysed the data of environmental measurement and health check-up of one lead using industry who started his investment to environmental improvement from 1980. Six hundred million won was invested for environmental improvement from 1980 to 1986. This investment brought about apparent improvement of working conditions of all of the workplaces from mean concentration of lead in air over 0.15mg/$m^3$ 1981 to mean concentration of lead in air less than 0.15mg/$m^3$. Environmental control reduced mean blood lead level from 51.2 $\pm$ 11.5ug/이 in 1983 to 39.2 $\pm$ 16.0ug/dl in 1986, and delta-aminolevulinic acid concentration 3.15 $\pm$ 2.1mg/l in 1982 to 1.96 $\pm$ 1. 7mg/l in 1986, respectively. Blood ZPP levels were decreased from 76.1 $\pm$ 58.9ug/dl in 1983 to 42.23 $\pm$ 30.3ug/dl in 1986. If 150ug/dl of blood ZPP is considered as unacceptable limit of lead intoxication, more than 10 percent of workers belonged to this category in 1983, but only 0.5 of workers showed their blood ZPP level over the 150ug/dl in 1986 It was observed that no workers whose work duration were less than one year showed their blood ZPP level over 100ug/dl, but there were high percentages of lead workers with high blood ZPP (over 150 ug/dl) who were working in uncontrolled had working condition and whose work duration were less than one year.

The Effects of Job Quality on the Health of Wage Workers: Congruence between the Hard and Soft Job Quality

  • Background: This study analyzes the linear and non-linear effects of the hard and soft dimensions of job quality on the overall health of wage workers. It also examines the congruence or fit between the hard and soft job quality on the overall health of wage workers. Methods: This study measured thirty indicators that constitute job quality and reduced the indicators into twelve sub-dimensions of job quality using reflective factor analysis. In addition, this study derived two dimensions of job quality from the twelve subdimensions, namely the hard and soft job quality using formative factor analysis. This paper applied the response surface analysis to analyze the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality. Results: A logarithmic relationship was found between the dimension of hard job quality and the worker's overall health. This study also verified that the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality does not exist, and the combined effect of job quality is lower when the two dimensions of job quality are at the same level than the effect when either level of job quality is high or low. Conclusions: Although hard and soft job quality has independent positive effects on the overall health of wage workers, the two dimensions of job quality are not congruent or not in harmony with each other. This incongruence between hard and soft job quality, together with a higher impact of hard job quality, suggests that the role of soft job quality on overall health is relatively limited.

채용시 건강진단과 순음청력검사 및 요추부 단순방사선 검사가 근로자 채용에 미치는 영향 - 인천, 경기 지역 2003년 실태 조사 - (The Influence of Preemployment Medical Examination, Pure Tone Audiometry, and Simple Lumbar Spine X-ray Test on the Worker's Employment - The Result of Survey at Incheon Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province in Korea, the Year 2003 -)

  • This study was conducted for investigating the status of management of preemployment health examination and to have an effect on the worker's employment. Health managers of 103 companies in Incheon metropolitan city and Gyeonggi were interviewed by telephone. Of 103 companies, 67(65.1%) said they don't hire the applicants who have an active pulmonary tuberculosis, 80(77.7%) companies said they health HBV carrier is acceptable but active HBV carrier is not 29(28.2%) companies said they don't hire the applicants who have a hypertension or diabetes mellitus, 42(40.8%) companies said they don't hire the applicants who have a hearing disturbance. If HIVD is suspicious in X-ray lumbar-sacral region, 37(78.7% of 47 companies) said they do not hire the applicants. 29(35% of 83 companies) said they cancel the employment of the applicants who are suspicious of noise induced hearing loss on preplacement health examination. From our survey, preemployment health examination was utilizing mainly as a tool for the selection of health employees who don't have a disease. Furthermore, in many companies, additional test items are being included and getting more strict the selection criteria for preemployment health examination. For the right use of preemployment health examination, author suggested that further studies were needed to select the adequate test items and establish the reasonable criteria for preemployment health examination.

안전보건정보 제공이 일용근로자의 주관적 건강인식에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Occupational Safety and Health Information on Precarious Workers' Self-rated Health )

  • Objectives: This study aimed to confirm the relationship between occupational safety and health information and self-rated health among precarious workers. Methods: A cross-sectional explanatory study design was conducted using data from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's 6th Korean Working Conditions Survey. The participants were 1,569 precarious workers living in South Korea. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression were used for data analyses by SPSS (version 25.0). Results: As a result of the study, occupational safety and health information had a significant positive effect on the self-rated health of precarious workers. The results suggest that occupational safety and health information contributes to the self-rated health of precarious workers. Conclusions: Therefore, it is suggested that policies should be developed to improve occupational safety and health information in workplaces. In addition, strategies should be developed to promote the usefulness of occupational safety and health information to precarious workers.

비정규직 여성근로자의 고용특성 및 건강에 미치는 인자: 산재보험패널조사 (Effect of Temporary Employees and Health Characteristics Female Non-Regular Female Workers)

  • Objectives : Using several waves of the Panel Study of Worker's Compensation Insurance(PSWCI), this study analyzed the effect of female workers on the health and lifestyles of korean workers in the sample year of 2014 (The first survey was completed in August-October 2013;, the second survey was completed in August-October 2014.) Methods : The research subjects were 24,672 women among workers who responded to the 2014 PSWCI panel report. Statistical analyses were performed with SAS version 9.4 (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA). Results : According to the results of the analysis, women showed differences in female temporary workers, working conditions, classification of occupation, working period, and health conditions based on work-time conditions. The results show that female workers with disabilities have a direct positive effect on life satisfaction as we anticipated in the hypothesis. Conclusions : Female workers should focus on factors identified in this study when developing employment interventions to improve a health promoting lifestyle for their work environment.

일부 직장인의 구강건강상식 및 스케일링에 대한 인식도 (Affecting factors to oral scaling experience of the part worker)

  • Objectives : This study was to investigate into company workers' oral scaling related factors and enhance a rate of oral scaling. Methods : From August 2010, self-administered questionnaires of the about general question items, oral health relation factors, knowledge of periodontal disease for oral scaling performed, in 267 people worker objects. Results : The followings are the findingd of this research. First, Oral scaling experiences were responded by 205 people(76.8%). Among those prevention the case which enforces with a goal periodically 6 month period 7.3% and the period of 1 years is 28.8%, be most inconvenient is cold(50.7%), with motive is dentistry visits inducement for tooth therapy which 51.2%, Non experience in oral scaling was responded by 62 people(23.2%), 45.2% of whom answered they had no necessity for such treatment. Second, Knowledge of periodontal disease is 'dental calculus and stain loses toothbrush quality did eagerly' incorrect one right answer ratio is highest with 86.5%, 'Becoming the adult being made to draw out tooth is periodontitis than decay' was incorrect one right answer rate was lowest with 62.9%. Third, The workers' sex, service field, one month average income, Currently the oral inconvenient presence, oral health Interest degree, tooth brushing method, knowledge of periodontitis have a significant effect on their oral scaling experience. Conclusions : When seeing with result of above, it is necessary of the oral scaling widely with the method which is various includes a mass communication by causing the changes in the perception of oral scaling. The dental hygienist is inconvenience from oral scaling experience have interest when is possible the patient comfortably, in order could be operated, endeavors demanded.

요양보호사의 긍정심리자본이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Positive Psychological Capital on Turnover Intention of Care Worker)

  • 본 연구는 장기요양서비스 제공의 핵심인력인 요양보호사들의 긍정심리자본이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 것이다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 긍정심리자본의 하위요인들인 자기효능감 희망 복원력의 특성을 파악한 결과 '자기효능감'은 배우자가 있고, 근무경력과 1회당 근로시간이 길며, 건강상태가 좋은 경우에 높았다. '희망'은 근무경력과 1회당 근로시간이 길며, 건강상태가 좋은 경우에 높았다. '복원력'은 종교를 가지고 있으며 건강상태가 좋고, 근무경력이 길어서 상대적으로 높은 급여를 받는 경우에 높았다. 둘째, 요양보호사의 전체 긍정심리자본의 특성 차이를 확인한 결과 긍정심리자본의 하위요인에서 나타난 바와 같이 좋은 건강상태가 좋고, 근무경력이 길며, 높은 급여를 받는 경우에 긍정심리자본이 높았다. 셋째, 요양보호사의 이직의도는 근무경력과 근로시간이 짧고 미혼인 경우에 많았다. 마지막으로 긍정심리자본이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 긍정심리자본은 이직의도에 부(-)적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 즉, 긍정심리자본이 많은 요양보호사는 이직의도가 적은 것이다. 요양보호사들의 이직을 감소시켜 확대되는 장기요양보험의 핵심인력으로서 요양보호사가 활발히 활동할 수 있도록 긍정심리자본을 향상하기 위한 노력이 필요하다.

소규모 사업장에서 내부 이해관계자들 간의 연계가 산업재해에 미치는 영향: 사업주의 안전의지, 관리감독자의 안전리더십, 근로자 참여를 중심으로 (A Study on the Effect of the Linkage among Internal Stakeholders in Small Businesses on Industrial Accident: Focusing on the Safety Commiment of the Business Owner, Safety Leadership of the Supervisor and the Participation of Workers)

  • This study attempted to provide implications by analyzing the impact of business Owner's safety commitment on industrial accidents and examining the mediating role of management supervisors' safety leadership and worker participation. Analysis was conducted on 2,067 manufacturing sites with 20 to 50 employees in the 10th Occupational Safety and Health Survey data. SPSS waw used to secure the reliability of the measurement variable. Hypothesis vertification was carried out after securing the suitability and validity of the structural model using AMOS. The direct impact of three latent variables on industrial accidents was confirmed: the business owner's safety commitment, the management supervisor's safety leadership, and the worker participation. The employer's safety will and the management supervisor's safety leadership do not directly affect industial accidents, but it has been verified that worker participation has a diret impact on industrial accident reduction. In addition, it has been confirmed that the safety leadership and worker participation of the management. Supervior have a complete mediating effect on the reduction of industrial accidents by mediating with the safety leadership of the management supervior and the participation of the workers. This study analyzed the impact on industrial accidents by dividing the stakeholders constituting the workplace into three classes: business owners, superviors, and workers, but the results suggest that employers and all workers inside the workplace may be organically linked to achieving the goal of reducing industrial accidents. Therefore, in order to establish an autonomous safety management system for safety and health at workerplaces, efforts are needed to reduce industrial accidents in their respective location by forming an organic community among internal stakeholders.

노인요양기관종사자의 심리적 자본이 이직의도 및 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (An Effect of Aged Care Facility Worker's Psychological Capital on Turnover Intension and Job Satisfaction)

  • Objectives: This study aims to examine the effect of psychological capital on turnover intension and job satisfaction by aged care facility workers. Methods : Samples were obtained from 147 aged care facility workers in one county of Kyungsangbukdo. The study conducted a correlation and a regression analysis to learn how psychological capital (self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience) would affect turnover intension and job satisfaction. Results : First, age and marital status turned out to have a positive (+) influence on job satisfaction which would be negative (-) affected by tenure of office. Second, hope, sub-variable of Psychological Capital, affected a negative (-) influence on turnover intension. Third, resilience, sub-variable of Psychological Capital, affected a positive(+) influence on job satisfaction. Conclusions: It is suggested to develop the psychological capital of aged care facility workers, effective welfare system and educational program are required for better job satisfaction.
