Purpose: The small-scale environmental impact assessment conducted during the development project stage has focused on the preservation of the natural environment centered on non-urban areas, due to the nature of urbanization, health problems for citizens of high-density urban areas have a limitation in that they are relatively neglected. In the case of strategic environmental impact assessment and environmental impact assessment in urban areas, there is no basis for evaluation in urban areas because there are exceptions to be excluded from the target projects or there are no target project regulations for buildings. Therefore, in this research, we examined the problems with the target project such as the current environmental impact assessment, and tried to establish a system improvement plan that can solve them. Research design, data and methodology: After reviewing the current environmental impact assessment-related laws (including enforcement ordinances) and national land planning laws (including enforcement ordinances), exceptions such as environmental impact assessment in urban areas were identified and problems were identified. Based on this, an amendment to the Enforcement Decree was proposed to provide institutional support for the expansion of target projects such as environmental impact assessment in urban areas. Results and Conclusions: Through this research, it is expected that the projects subject to environmental impact assessment on development projects in urban areas directly related to the health of the people will be expanded, and the net function of the environmental impact assessment system will be maximized.
This research shows the improved methodology which can be applied for universities which want to set up their GHG inventories. In other words, we tried to make guideline in problems due to the unique characteristics of universities. This guideline will help university to deal with the problems they are facing: For example university has less enforcement in operational control compared to the business sector. And it also has various usage of facilities, although these facilities are not maintained by same principal agent. The difference between owner and manager is an another reason for difficulty in setting group organization. The improved and adaptable methods responding to these problems were suggested from this research. The results of this research says the new definition of function for various actors in university for quality control and quality assurance. Because the suggestions made in this research which concerns with criteria for building of universities' GHG inventories were all read by current legislation, there is an anticipation that this can be an official guideline that can be applied to the universities right away.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences in Korean child-rearing practices between the generations of young mothers and grandmothers. Method: The participants were 98 mothers who were 20 to 39 years old and had raised one-year-old child and 103 grandmothers who were over 60 years old and had raised their children in a small city. Data were collected through self-report questionnaire based on the Korean traditional child-rearing practice from Yoo(1986). The data were analyzed using the SPSS Win 10.0 program. Results: Of 37 items in the categories of feeding and weaning, health management and taboo matters, play, and baby celebrations, the grandmothers practiced 13 items (35%) more frequently than the young mothers. However, no generation differences were found in 21 items (57%), and 3 items were practiced more frequently by the young mothers. For the young mothers, there were 15 items (41%) which were practiced over 70%, 7 items (19%) which were practiced less than 30%. Conclusion: It seems that some Korean traditional child-rearing practices were transferred to modern child-rearing practices. Therefore pediatric nurses need to pay attention to traditional child-rearing practices for the best health, growth and development of children.
Purpose: The goal of this study was to identify the current status of research on job stress conducted in Korea and to suggest directions for future nursing research. Methods: A total of 395 articles (76 nursing science, 100 health science, 219 social science) selected from 'Korean Research Foundation Registered Journals' were reviewed. The papers were classified by criteria, focusing on research frameworks, topics and methodologies. Results: There has been a rapid increase in the number of articles since the 1990s. However, the following issues were discovered: lack of theoretical frameworks about factors related to job stress, a paucity of attention to sophisticated methodologies including the development of strong measurement tools, and incoherence among the level of theory, level of measurement, and/or level of statistical analysis. Conclusion: Based on the key findings of this study the following are proposed: increased efforts to develop theoretical framework to guide empirical investigations, improvements in methodological rigor, research conduct with various job groups with different approaches such as qualitative or experimental research, and encouragement for interdisciplinary approaches to the study on job stress.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide a clear definition of the health literacy for patients with cardiovascular disease by analyzing the dimensions and properties using Hybrid concept analysis. Methods: The concept of health literacy of patients with cardiovascular disease was analyzed according to the cyclic process of theoretical phase-field work phase-final analysis phase presented in the Hybrid model. We reviewed 26 literatures and conducted in-depth interviews with 13 patients with cardiovascular disease. Results: The concept of health literacy in cardiovascular patients is derived from two dimensions and five attributes. Literacy skills, health information search ability and health information utilization skills were derived as attributes in the individual functional dimension, while active communication with the medical team and utilization of health information support resources were derived at the interrelational dimension. It is defined as the individualized and integrated ability of an individual to explore and utilize the various health information needed to make appropriate health decisions during the chronic course after diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, to communicate proactively with medical staffs and to utilize support resources. Conclusion: This study will contribute to the development and related research of health literacy measurement tools that can be used in cardiovascular nursing practice based on the attributes and indicators of health literacy for patients with cardiovascular disease.
