Recently, a name retrieval function is widely used on navigation systems. In this paper, we propose the new dynamic hashing algorithm for a name retrieval function on it. The proposed dynamic hashing algorithm by constructing an index using the variance information of character is the better than existing methods in terms of storage capacity and retrieval speed. The algorithm proposed in this paper can be useful on systems that have limited resources as well as navigation systems.

Locality-sensitive hashing techniques have been developed to efficiently handle nearest neighbor searches and similar pair identification problems for large volumes of high-dimensional data. This study proposes a locality-sensitive hashing method that can be applied to nearest neighbor search problems for data sets containing both numerical and categorical attributes. The proposed method makes use of dual hashing functions, where one function is dedicated to numerical attributes and the other to categorical attributes. The method consists of creating indexing structures for each of the dual hashing functions, gathering and combining the candidates sets, and thoroughly examining them to determine the nearest ones. The proposed method is examined for a few synthetic data sets, and results show that it improves performance in cases of large amounts of data with both numerical and categorical attributes.

Content-based image retrieval is an approach used to query images based on their semantics. Semantic based retrieval has its application in all fields including medicine, space, computing etc. Semantically generated binary hash codes can improve content-based image retrieval. These semantic labels / binary hash codes can be generated from unlabeled data using convolutional autoencoders. Proposed approach uses semi-supervised deep hashing with semantic learning and binary code generation by minimizing the objective function. Convolutional autoencoders are basis to extract semantic features due to its property of image generation from low level semantic representations. These representations of images are more effective than simple feature extraction and can preserve better semantic information. Proposed activation and loss functions helped to minimize classification error and produce better hash codes. Most widely used datasets have been used for verification of this approach that outperforms the existing methods.

With the rapid growth of 3D content industry fields, 3D content-based hashing (or hash function) has been required to apply to authentication, trust and retrieval of 3D content. A content hash can be a random variable for compact representation of content. But 3D content-based hashing has been not researched yet, compared with 2D content-based hashing such as image and video. This paper develops a robust 3D content-based hashing based on key-dependent 3D surface feature. The proposed hashing uses the block surface coefficient using shape coordinate of 3D SSD and curvedness for 3D surface feature and generates a binary hash by a permutation key and a random key. Experimental results verified that the proposed hashing has the robustness against geometry and topology attacks and has the uniqueness of hash in each model and key.

According to rapidly increasing of network traffics, necessity of high-speed router also increased. For various purposes, like traffic statistic and security, traffic measurement function should performed by router. However, because of the nature of high-speed router, memory resource of router was limited. RCC proposed a way to measure traffics with high speed and accuracy. Additional quadratic probing hashing table used for accumulating elephant flows in RCC. However, in our experiment, quadratic probing performed many overheads when allocated small memory space or load factor was high. Especially, quadratic requested many calculations in update and lookup. To face this kind of problem, we use a cuckoo hashing which performed a good performance in update and loop for enhancing the RCC. As results, RCC with cuckoo hashing performed high accuracy and speed even when load factor of memory was high.
In this paper, the structure of CMAC address mapping is first revisited, and the address hashing function and the random mapping is discussed in the conventional CMAC implementation. Then the effective size of CMAC memory is derived from the modulus property of the CMAC address vector, and a new hashing function for the effective memory mapping is proposed for a CMAC implementation with feasible memory size and no troublesome random mapping. Finally, the performance of the conventional CMAC learning algorithm and that of the proposed new CMAC scheme arc compared via simulations.

The rapid development of various applications in networking system, business, medical, education, and other domains that use basic data access operations such as insert, edit, delete and search makes data structure venerable and crucial in providing an efficient method for day to day operations of those numerous applications. One of the major problems of those applications is achieving constant time to search a key from a collection. A number of different methods which attempt to achieve that have been discovered by researchers over the years with different performance behaviors. This work evaluated these methods, and found out that almost all the existing methods have non-constant time for adding and searching a key. In this work, we designed a multi-indexes hashing algorithm that handles a collision in a hash table T efficiently and achieved constant time O(1) for searching and adding a key. Our method employed two-level of hashing which uses pattern extraction h1(key) and h2(key). The second hash function h2(key) is use for handling collision in T. Here, we eliminated the wasted slots in the search space T which is another problem associated with the existing methods.
The desire for a technology that can mechanically acquire 2D images starting with the manual method of drawing has been making possible a wide range of modern image-based technologies and applications over a period. Moreover, this trend of the utilization of image-related technology as well as image-based information is likely to continue. Naturally, as like other technology areas, the function that humans produce and utilize by using images needs to be automated by using computing-based technologies. Surprisingly, technology using images in the future will be able to discover knowledge that humans have never known before through the information-related process that enables new perception, far beyond the scope of use that human has used before. Regarding this trend, the manipulation and configuration of massively distributed image database system is strongly demanded. In this paper, we discuss image identifier production methods based on the utilization of the image hashing technique which especially puts emphasis over an entropy operator.

The information retrieval domain deals with the retrieval of unstructured data such as text documents. Searching documents is a main component of the modern information retrieval system. Locality Sensitive Hashing (LSH) is one of the most popular methods used in searching for documents in a high-dimensional space. The main benefit of LSH is its theoretical guarantee of query accuracy in a multi-dimensional space. More enhancement can be achieved to LSH by adding a bit to its steps. In this paper, a new Dynamic Locality Sensitive Hashing (DLSH) algorithm is proposed as an improved version of the LSH algorithm, which relies on employing the hierarchal selection of LSH parameters (number of bands, number of shingles, and number of permutation lists) based on the similarity achieved by the algorithm to optimize searching accuracy and increasing its score. Using several tampered file structures, the technique was applied, and the performance is evaluated. In some circumstances, the accuracy of matching with DLSH exceeds 95% with the optimal parameter value selected for the number of bands, the number of shingles, and the number of permutations lists of the DLSH algorithm. The result makes DLSH algorithm suitable to be applied in many critical applications that depend on accurate searching such as forensics technology.

One of the important design issues for IP routers responsible for packet forwarding in computer networks is the route-lookup mechanism. For each incoming packet, IP routing requires that a router performs a longest-prefix-match address lookup in order to determine the next hop that the incoming packet should be forwarded to. In this paper, we present a new scheme which applies the hashing function for IP address lookup. In the proposed scheme, the forwarding table is composed of multiple SRAMs, and each SRAM represents an address lookup table in each prefix. Hashing function is applied in order to find out the matching entries from the address lookup tables in parallel, and the entry with the longest prefix match among them is selected. Simulation using the MAE-WEST router example shows that a large routing table with 37000 entries can be compacted to a forwarding table of 300 Kbytes in the proposed scheme. It is also shown that the proposed scheme achieves one route lookup every 1.93 memory accesses in average.
