광배근 근피판 거상 후 점진적 긴장 봉합술의 유용성 (The Effectiveness of Progressive Tension Suture at Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Harvest)

  • Purpose: The latissimus dorsi muscle flap is a versatile flap used in a variety of reconstructive procedures. The most common complication of LD muscle flap is donor site seroma, reported to occur in 20 to 79 percent of cases. The formation of dead space under the flap is intimately associated with seroma formation. The authors think that the use of progressive tension suture at closing donor site can decrease the formation of dead space and ultimately reduce the incidence of donor site seroma. Methods: A retrospective review was performed with 38 patients who underwent latissimus dorsi muscle harvest for breast reconstruction from March 2003 to September 2004. Progressive tension sutures were used during donor site closure in 22 patients. This group was compared with controls group(16 patients) who underwent latissimus dorsi muscle harvest without using this technique. Operation time, length of hospital stay, period of drainage, complication, and satisfaction about postoperative scar of donor site were examined. Results: The average length of hospital stay was 10.2 days and 12.7 days, and the mean duration of drainage were 7.3 days and 11.7 days in each progressive suture group and control group. These results were statistically significant (p<0.05). In the 22 patients who underwent progressive tension suture, none had seroma, hematoma or skin necrosis. In control group(16 patients), there happened one seroma formation and one partial skin necrosis. These complications were healed by aspiration of seroma and wound revision. The patients' satisfaction was not statistically significant, but the higher points were given by the patients who underwent progressive tension suture. Conclusion: This technique, progressive tension suture, is an effective method to reduce or eliminate donor site seroma, which is the most common complication associated with latissimus dorsi muscle harvest.

Effects of Post-harvest Storage Duration and Variety on Nutrient Digestibility and Energy Content Wheat in Finishing Pigs

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of post-harvest storage duration and wheat variety on the digestibility and energy content of new season wheat fed to finishing pigs. Two wheat varieties (Shi and Zhong) were harvested in 2013 and stored in the warehouse of the Fengning Pig Experimental Base at China Agricultural University for 3, 6, 9, or 12 mo. For each storage period, 12 barrows were placed in metabolism crates and allotted to diets containing 1 of the 2 wheat varieties in a randomized complete block design. The experimental diets contained 97.34% wheat and 2.66% of a vitamin and trace mineral premix. With an extension of storage duration from 3 mo to 12 mo, the gross energy (GE) and crude protein (CP) of the wheat decreased by 2.0% and 12.01%, respectively, while the concentration of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and starch content increased by 30.26%, 19.08%, and 2.46%, respectively. Total non-starch polysaccharide, total arabinose, total xylose and total mannose contents decreased by 46.27%, 45.80%, 41.71%, and 75.66%, respectively. However, there were no significant differences in the chemical composition between the two wheat varieties with the exception of ADF which was approximately 13.37% lower in Shi. With an extension of storage duration from 3 mo to 12 mo, the digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME) content and the apparent total tract digestibility of GE, CP, dry matter, organic matter, ether extract, ADF and metabolizability of energy in wheat decreased linearly (p<0.01) by 5.74%, 7.60%, 3.75%, 3.88%, 3.50%, 2.47%, 26.22%, 27.62%, and 3.94%, respectively. But the digestibility of NDF changed quadratically (p<0.01). There was an interaction between wheat variety and storage time for CP digestibility (p<0.05), such that the CP digestibility of variety Zhong was stable during 9 mo of storage, while the CP digestibility of variety Shi decreased (p<0.05). In conclusion, the GE, DE, and ME of wheat was stable during the first 3 to 6 mo of post-harvest storage, and decreased during the following 6 to 12 mo of storage under the conditions of this study.

  • 대두(大豆)의 탄수화물집적과정(炭水化物集積過程)에는 일정(一定)한 rhythm이 있다는 것을 명확(明確)히 하였지만 질소대사(窒素代謝)도 이에 따라 큰 변동(變動)이 있다는 것도 명백(明白)하여졌다. 시비시기(施肥時期)의 조만(早晩)에 불구(不拘)하고 상술(上述)한 결론(結論)은 이용(利用)될 수 있으나 만기시비(晩期施肥)의 경우는, 수확기(收穫期)까지의 시기(時期)가 짧아 정상적(正常的)인 발육(發育)이란 볼 수 없이 생애(生涯)를 끝마친다는 뜻이 되어 수량(收量)에도 매우 큰 영향(影響)을 주는 결과(結果)가 된다. 일반적(一般的)으로 생육(生育)의 전반(前半)은 질소동화기(窒素同化期)이고 후반(後半)은 탄수화물동화기(炭水化物同化期)라고 말할 수 있다. 그러나 시비(施肥)의 조만(早晩)은 이 기간(期間)의 구별(區別)을 비교적(比較的) 지연시켰다. 즉(卽) 전반기(前半期)에 있어서의 탄수화물(炭水化物)의 부족(不足)은 단백질합성(蛋白質合成)의 과정(過程)을 조해(阻害)시켰고, 후반기(後半期)에서의 체내단백질(體內蛋白質)의 부족(不足)은 왕성(旺盛)하여야 할 광합성(光合成)을 감약(減弱)시켜 가하(加何)튼 수량(收量)을 저하(低下)시키는 결과(結果)를 냈다. 따라서 착협기(着莢期)에 있어서의 체내단백질(體內蛋白質)의 부족(不足)은 결정적(決定的)으로 후반기(後半期)에서의 생육부진(生育不振)은 초래(招來)시켰다. 따라서 수량(收量)을 증가(增加)시키기 위(爲)해서는 역시 비교적(比較的) 빠른 시기(時期)에 시비(施肥)하여야 할 것이다. 또 생육과정중(生育過程中)에서의 각종형태(各種形態)의 질소(窒素)의 소장(消長)을 가용성질소(可溶性窒素)로 종합(綜合)하여 질소대사(窒素代謝)의 과정(過程)도 추정(推定)하였다.

자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 채집에 영향을 주는 관련요인 (Factors Influencing Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Collection)

  • Purpose: Peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) has been widely used. The optimal time for collection is a critical factor to obtain proper counts of CD34 cell by peripheral blood stem cell collection (PBSC). The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing peripheral blood stem cell collection in order to figure out the more effective timing for PBSC. Method: The subjects of this study were 189 patients undergoing 3 leukapheresis from January 28, 2005 to December 31,2006. Group's characteristics, checkup opinion of pre-peripheral blood on the day of harvest & outcome of PBSC were analyzed and evaluated using SAS statistics program after grouping patients as below; group 1-CD34 cell counts $<2{\times}10^6/kg$ (n=97); group $2-2{\times}10^6/kg$ ${\leq}CD34$ cell counts $<4{\times}10^6/kg$ (n=26); group 3-CD34 cell counts ${\geq}4{\times}10^6/kg$ (n=63). Results: Based on outcome of peripheral blood stem cell according to diagnosis, acute myelocytic leukemia (AML) was 65.5% at Group 1, Lymphoma was 21.7% at Group 2 and multiple myeloma (MM) was 70.8% at Group 3. There were significant differences in CD34 cell counts according to diagnosis (p=0.00004). Type of cytokine mobilization according to diagnosis, Lenograsim was using 62.5% of MM & 38.2% of AML and filgrastim is using 22.0% of AML only. Circular peripheral blood CD34 cell counts prior to harvest was $258.1/{\mu}L$ at Group 3 which was much higher comparing to Group 1 ($10.5/{\mu}L$) and Group 2 ($39.9/{\mu}L$) (p<0.001). TNC counts of collected peripheral blood stem cell was $15.36{\times}10^6/kg$ at Group 3 and it's much higher than Group 2 ($13.16{\times}10^6/kg$) and Group 1 ($12.36{\times}10^6/kg$) (p=0.083). There was no significant difference in MNC counts inbetween 3 groups. Conclusions: Circular peripheral blood CD34+ cell counts prior to harvest was much higher at Group 3 than Group 1 and Group 2. Therefore, the number of CD34+ cells on the day of harvest can be used as an accurate predictor for peripheral blood stem cell.

생육시기 및 품종이 총체 벼의 수량 및 사료가치에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Growth Stage and Variety on the Yield and Quality of Whole Crop Rice)

  • 본 시험은 사료용 총체 벼의 수확시기 및 품종이 수량 및 사료가치에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 2003년부터 2005년까지 축산연구소에서 수행되었다. 식용벼인 추청벼와 총체벼 전용품종인 하마사리를 이용하여 생육시기별로 6회(출수, 개화, 유숙, 호숙, 황숙 및 완숙기)에 걸쳐 수확하였다. 조단백질 함량은 수확이 늦어짐에 따라 감소하였으나 TDN 함량은 증가되었다. ADF 함량으로 추정된($TDN=88.9-(0.79{\times}ADF)$) 평균 TDN 함량은 60% 내외로 나타났다. ADF 및 NDF 함량은 수확이 지연됨에 따라 감소되었다. 건물수량은 황숙기에 가장 높았으며(p<0.05) 추청벼가 하마사리 보다 약간 높았지만 유의적이 차이는 없었다. TDN 수량도 건물수량과 같은 경향을 보였으나 매 수확시기별 품종간에는 유의적인 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). 따라서 이상의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 총체 벼의 수확적기는 호숙기${\sim}$황숙기로 추천되었다.

봉지종류와 수확시기가 '추황배'의 수상에서의 과피흑변과 과실품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Paper Bag Types and Harvesting Dates on Skin Blackening and Fruit Quality of 'Chuhwangbae' Pear Trees)

  • '추황배' 배 과수원에 봉지종류와 수확시기를 달리하였을 때 수상의 과피흑변과 발생과 수확 후 과실품질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 본 시험은 두 가지로, 첫 번째는 네 종류의 봉지(신문지외지/황색내지, 회색외지/황색내지, 신문지외지/흑색내지, 신문지외지/적색내지) 시험이었고, 두 번째 시험은 만개 후 160일, 170일, 180일, 190일, 200일에 수확하였을 때 과피흑변과와 과실품질을 조사하였다. 신문지외지/황색내지의 봉지가 투광도와 투기도 및 수분투과도인 물리성이 향상되었고, 신문지외지/적색내지가 봉지물리성이 낮은 경향을 보였다. 신문지외지/황색내지는 수상에서의 과피흑변과 발생이 나타나지 않았고, 신문지외지/적색내지를 괘대처리 한 과실에서는 약 12.7%의 과피흑변과가 관찰되었다. 과피흑변은 주로 과실의 중앙부와 과정부에서 집중적으로 발생되었다. 신문지외지/적색내지를 이용한 유대재배는 평균과중, 경도, 산도, 그리고 착색이 향상되는 경향을 보였다. 수확시기가 늦어질수록(만개 후 190일과 200일에 수확) 과피흑변, 평균과중, 당도가 증가되었고 반대로 과실경도와 산도는 감소되었다.

노지(露地) 및 P. E. film 피복하(被覆下)에서 제초시기(除草時期)와 기간(期間)이 땅콩의 생육(生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Growth and Yield of Peanuts Affected by Weeding Time and Periods in Bare Soil and Under the P. E. film Mulch)

  • To know the effects of weeding periods (weeding from 12 days, 28 days and 42 days after seeding to harvest, and weeding from seeding to 14 days, 28 days and 42 days after seeding) and growing conditions such as transparent polyethylene film mulch (P.E. mulch) and bare soil on growth and yield of peanuts, "Yeongho-Tangkong" was planted on May 10, 1984. Under P.E. mulch, the number of weeds was higher, but the weed dry weight was lower than in bare soil by the middle of July. Sixty days after seedings, the length of main stems in weedy check plots was longer, but shoot dry weight was lower compared to weed free plot. In the correlation coefficients between weed dry weight and the shoot dry weight of peanut on July 14, the growth retardation of peanuts due to weeds was showed earlier under P.E. mulch than in bare soil. Shoot dry weight, shelling ratio, number of seeds per pod, 100 pod weight, and seed yield were higher under P.E, mulch compared to bare soil. But weed dry weight, length of branches, number of pod bearing branches, number of pods per square meters, and pod yield were similar between P.E. mulch and bare soil. Shoot dry weight of peanuts, length of branches, number of pod bearing branches, number of pods per square meters, pod yield, 100 pod weight, 100 seed weight, and seed yield in weed free plots from 28 days after seeding to harvest (28 DAS-Harvest) were higher compared to weed free plots from 42 DAS-Harvest. However, in the weed free plot from seeding to 42 days after seeding seed yield was lower than that of the continuous weeding plot due to lower number of pod bearing branches and number of pods per square meters. When weed was not controlled at the later growth stages of peanuts, reduction in seed yield due to weeds was greater in bare soil than that under P.E. mulch.

등숙기 기상조건이 벼알의 탈립성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Meteorological Condition during Ripening on the Grain Shattering of Rice Plant)

  • 이앙기에 따른 등숙기상조건의 차이가 수도의 탈립성에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 탈립성이 큰 태백벼와 비탈립성인 진흥을 재료로 40일 묘를 5월 11일부터 15일 간격으로 4회 이앙하고 출수 후 40일 및 55일의 시기에 각각 벼알의 인장강도를 측정하였으며 작기 및 수확시기의 영향, 그리고 기상요인들과 탈립성과의 관계를 분석하였다. 1. 벼알의 인장강도는 각 처리를 통틀어 진흥의 경우 214-251g의 변이폭을 보였고 이 범위의 인장강도는 벼의 포장손실에 무관하나 태백벼의 경우 인장강도는 127.5-204g의 변이폭을 보였고 이앙기 및 수확시기가 탈립성 및 벼의 포장손실에 미치는 영향은 매우 컸다. 2. 벼알의 인장강도에 미치는 영향은 태백벼의 경우 수확시기, 이앙기 및 이앙기와 수확시기와의 상호작용이 모두 컸으며, 특히 이앙기가 6월 25일 경우 현저히 탈립성이 커졌다. 진흥의 경우에는 이앙기의 영향은 유의하지 않았고 수확시기가 늦을수록, 즉 벼알이 건조될수록 인장강도가 다소간 커지는 경향이었다. 3. 기상요인들의 탈립성에 미치는 영향은 일평균, 최저, 최고기온 및 일기온교차가 컸고, 특히 수확전 30일간의 이들의 영향이 컸으며, 태백벼의 경우 일사량과 대기온도가 영향하지 않았지만 진흥의 경우에는 수확전 10일간의 일사량과 수확전 30일간의 대기온도가 영향하였다.

일장조절이 국화의 생장과 개화에 미치는 효과 (Photoperiod manipulation in controlling growth and flowering of Chrysanthemum)

  • 국화는 개화를 위해서는 30일의 지속적인 단일 처리가 요구되는 원예작물인데 본 연구에서는 국화의 화형별 홑꽃 타입의 'Limelight', 'sunlight', 'Candle Light', 'Firebrand', 'Twilight'와 겹꽃 타입의 'Spirit', 'Sunburst Spirit', 'Mandalay', 'Illini Harvest'가 단일 (SD)-장일 (LD)-단일 (SD)의 일장 처리가 생장 및 개화조절 반응에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 30일간의 단일처리와 5일 또는 10일 동안의 장일처리 후 5일 또는 10일 동안의 단일조건을 각각 처리하였다. 품종별 차이는 없었으나 5 SD-10 LD-25 SD 처리는 개화를 지연시키고 설상화 수가 증가되었다. 특히 'Firebrand'와 'Candlelight' 품종의 설상화 수는 각각 40개와 60.8개로 대조구에 비해 현저히 증가되었다. 또한 SD-LD-SD처리는 개화를 6일에서 7일정도 지연시키는 것 외에는 큰 효과를 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 'Illini Harvest'와 'Limelight의 설상화 수는 어떤 SD-LD-SD 처리에 의해서도 증가되지 않았다. 따라서 추후 새로운 품종별 일장처리에 따른 추가적인 연구 분석이 뒤따라야 할 것으로 판단되며 본 연구 결과는 국화의 신품종 육성을 위한 자료에 유용함을 알 수 있었다.

Effect of Cutting Height on Productivity and Forage Quality of Alfalfa in Alpine Area of Korea

  • Cutting management has been identified as a critical factor in the alfalfa production systems because it has a significant impact on maximizing yield and maintaining the forage quality. The objective of this experiment was to determine the proper cutting height according to harvesting time for optimizing nutrient yield and forage nutritive quality of alfalfa grown in alpine regions of Korea. Alfalfa was sown at a seeding rate of 30 kg/ha in August 2018 and harvested at four cuttings in 2019 (3 May, 2 July, 11 September, and 13 October). Cutting heights were adjusted at 5, 15, and 25 cm above the soil surface. Alfalfa plant was tallest at the third cutting (109 cm), which was on average 35 cm taller than the first or second cutting. Relative feed value (RFV) remained unaffected by cutting height at the first harvest, but increased consistently in subsequent harvests as cutting height increased. Alfalfa collected at the first and fourth cuttings had the highest RFV (mean 152), which was on average 8 and 67 units higher than the second and third harvests, respectively. At each harvest, in vitro dry matter digestibility was highest in alfalfa cut at a 25-cm height. Dry matter (DM) production at each cutting height was highest in the first cutting, accounting for on average 36-37% of total annual DM production, and lowest in the fourth harvest, accounting for about 11-13% of the total DM yield. The total dry matter production (in four harvests) was 4,218 kg/ha higher when alfalfa was subjected to a cutting height of 5 cm rather than 25 cm. Cutting height had no effect on total crude protein yield, but from the first to fourth cutting, the protein yield followed a decreasing trend. Finally, there were visible declines in forage nutritive quality when alfalfa was cut at a shorter height. However, the magnitude of difference in total forage yield may outweigh the slight decline in forage quality when alfalfa is cut at a lower height. The findings of this study could help the alfalfa growers make better harvest management decisions.
