  • In this paper Hartley functions are used to approximate the solutions of continuous time linear dynamical system. The Hartley function and its integral operational matrix are first presented, an efficient algorithm to solve the Stein equation is proposed. The algorithm is based on the compound matrix and the inverse of sum of matrices. Using the structure of the Hartley's integral operational matrix, the full order Stein equation should be solved in terms of the solutions of pure algebraic matrix equations, which reduces the computation time remarkably. Finally a numerical example is illustrated to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this article, sensitivity analysis of atmospheric dispersion model RIMPUFF is considered. Uncertain parameters are taken to be triangular fuzzy numbers, and sensitivity analysis is carried out by using the Hartley-like measure. Codes for evaluating membership function using the Vertex method and the Hartley-like measure are prepared using Matlab.

  • This paper describes an algorithm for evaluating the Loss of Load Probability (LOLP) and calculating the production cost for all the generators in the system using Fast Hartley Transform (FHT). It also suggests the deconvolution procedure which is necessary for the generation expansion planning. The FHT is as fast as or faster than the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and serves for all the uses such as spectral, digital processing, and convolution to which the FFT is normally applied. The transformed function using FFT has complex numbers. However, the transformed function using FHT has real numbers and the convolution become quite simple. This method has been applied for the IEEE reliability test system and practical size model system. The test results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper discusses how to establish estimable functions when there are fixed and random effects in design models. It proves that estimable functions of mixed models are not related to random effects. A fitting constants method is used to obtain sums of squares due to random effects and Hartley's synthesis is used to calculate coefficients of variance components. To test about the fixed effects the degrees of freedom associated with divisor are determined by means of the Satterthwaite approximation.
