  • Vibration characteristics of a tire play an important role to judge a ride conformability and sound quality for a passenger car. In this study, the experimental investigation for the sound radiation of a radial tire has been examined. Based on the sound intensity techniques, the sound pressure field and the sound radiation are measured. It turns out that air pressure in tire, tread patterns, and aspect ratio of the tire govern the sound radiation characteristics. Then a numerical analysis for the tire element is conducted. During analysis, the tire element is modelled as an elastic ring. The comparison shows that the numerical output correlates to the experimental data.

  • The article presents the vibration and acoustic responses of un-baffled doubly curved laminated composite panel structure under the excitation of a harmonic point load. The structural responses are obtained using a simulation model via ANSYS including the effect various geometries (cylindrical, elliptical, spherical and hyperboloid). Initially, the model has been established by solving adequate number of available examples to show the convergence and comparison behaviour of the natural frequencies. Further, the acoustic responses are obtained using an indirect boundary element approach for the coupled fluid-structure analysis in LMS Virtual.lab by importing the natural frequency values. Subsequently, the values for the sound power level are computed using the present numerical model and compared with that of the available published results and in-house experimentally obtained data. Further, the acoustic responses (mean-square velocity, radiation efficiency and sound power level) of the doubly curved layered structures are evaluated using the current simulation model via several numerical experimentations for different structural parameters and corresponding discussions are provided in detail.

  • The equilibrium geometry, adiabatic electron affinity, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and infrared intensities of 1,4,6,9-Tetra chlorinated dibenzo-$\rho$-dioxin anion have been studied using B3LYP method. The local minimum conformation is found to be twisted form with $D_2$ symmetry. The predicted adiabatic electron affinity is 0.54 eV. The predicted inversion barrier between twisted and planar conformers was 0.9 kcal/mol, thus we expect that experimentally observed structure seems to be planar. the characteristic IR band of 1,4,6,9-TCDD anion appears at 1510 $cm^4$, which is a benzene ring skeleton vibration mode related with CaCb and C2C3 bond. this characteristic band could be sued for identication of 1,4,6,9-TCDD anion.

  • In this paper, we present a new approach for speaker diarization. First, we use the prosodic information calculated on the original speech to resynthesize the new speech data utilizing the spectrum modeling technique. The resynthesized data is modeled with sinusoids based on pitch, vibration amplitude, and phase bias. Then, we use the resynthesized speech data to extract cepstral features and integrate them with the cepstral features from original speech for speaker diarization. At last, we show how the two streams of cepstral features can be combined to improve the robustness of speaker diarization. Experiments carried out on the standardized datasets (the US National Institute of Standards and Technology Rich Transcription 04-S multiple distant microphone conditions) show a significant improvement in diarization error rate compared to the system based on only the feature stream from original speech.

  • The thermoacoustic refrigerator has not only considerable possibility but also commercial usability, because it has high reliability, lower vibration, no moving part, and can easily be constructed. In this study, The thermoacoustic refrigerator were constructed. The apparatus is capable of driving closed systems containing He or air at mean pressures ranging from 1-9.3 bar, at frequencies ranging from 100-1000Hz. The resonance characteristics of the thermoacoustic refrigerator were investigated for better performance, The resonance tube is 340.5mm in length. In case of using air as a coolant. Freezing frequency is 174Hz, In case of using He as a coolant Freezing frequency is 625Hz. Using He, The cold-part temperature of the heat exchanger fell to $-23.7^{\circ}C$ after 120 minutes in 70W.

  • In this paper, the vibrational characteristics of a foot mount type gearbox for epicyclic gear train have been studied. The modal parameters and mode shapes of a gearbox have been computed using AN SYS code. Modal testing was carried out to verify the FEM analysis model. It has been shown that the analysis results are in good agreements with the experimental results. Harmonic analysis has been executed to verify the effect of thickness variance of gearbox housing on the modal response. Analyzing the calculated results, some guides for optimal vibration response has been deduced.

  • Ultrasonic metal welder is consisted of power supply, transducer, booster, and horn. Precise designing is required since each parts' shape, length and mass can affect driving frequency and vibration mode. This paper analyzed Cu sheet deposition characteristics using ultrasonic metal welder and tension tester. A horn suitable for 40,000Hz was attached to the ultrasonic metal welder in order to weld Cu plates. The Cu sheet welding was done with different amplitude, pressure, and welding time, and its maximum tension was measured with tension tester. Maximum tension of 153.87N was obtained when the pressure was 2.0bar, amplitude was 80%, and welding time was 0.30s. Therefore, excessive welding condition negatively influences maximum tension measurement result.

  • In this study, a 20,000Hz ultrasonic horn was designed and fabricated using a finite element analysis. The horn's resonate frequency was 19,991Hz, and the harmonic response frequency was 20,000Hz. In order to observe the developed horn's performance, 4,000 pieces of displacement data were obtained using an optical sensor and were analyzed using a fast Fourier transform. Finally, the developed horn's resonate frequency was found to be 19,992Hz. The effect of the tip area of the developed horn on the weldability of a Cu sheet was experimentally investigated. It was found that the welding strengths of specimens welded using a small tip area were generally higherthan those of specimens welded using a large tip area.

  • An automated calibration system of sound level meters was developed and tested. As a standard sound source, the speaker unit(Forstex FE208) cabineted by 440$\times$390$\times$490 $\textrm{mm}^3$(LHW) volume wood box was adopted. Including this source, the driving part was found out to have a good linearity of sound pressure output vs AC voltage input. The Hybrid-Bisect/Newton-Raphson method modified by the linearity was adopted as a searching algorithm. Uisng GPIB interface, the console PC make the control, measurements, and calculations and finally make the accumulation of useful data and results automatically by the instructon in the program coded by C languate. Several trials of automatic calibration using this developed system give the reliable results.

  • When a squirrel cage induction motor is loaded, the electromagnetic noise can increase depending on the load current. It is due to the air gap harmonic fluxes from the rotor current induced during loading. This unfavorable noise can be anticipated by calculating the radial force waves in the air gap, vibration mode shapes of them, and stator core natural frequencies of each mode. With the experimental tests with the different rotor slot numbers, the variation of electromagnetic noise is studied between on-loaded and loaded running.
