  • Rabi oscillation between bound states of a single potential is well known. However the corresponding formula between the states of two different potentials has not been obtained yet. In this work, we derive Rabi formula between the states of a coupled harmonic oscillator which may be used as a simple model for the electron transfer. The expression is similar to typical Rabi formula for a single potential. This result may be used to describe transitions between coupled diabatic potential curves.

The proposed frequency synthesizer is composed of 2.9 ㎓ PLL chip, 2.9 ㎓ oscillator, and 5.8 ㎓ buffer amplifier The measured data shows a frequency Outing range of 290 ㎒, ranging from 5.65 to 5.94 ㎓ about 0.5 ㏈m of output power, and a phase noise of -107.67 ㏈c/㎐ at the 100 ㎑ offset frequency. All spurious signals including fundamental oscillation power(2.9 ㎓) are suppressed at least 15 ㏈c than the desired second harmonic signal.

  • A new approach to the active phased arrays for the second harmonic generation is presented. Phase variation between the second harmonic oscillators by the mutual synchronization is analyzed theoretically. In this coupling, the active antenna consists of the FET oscillator which plays two roles in fundamental oscillation and frequency multiplying, and the patch antenna resonated at the second harmonic frequency. The radiated second harmonic wave was scanned by varying the free-running oscillation frequencies of the active antennas. In the experiment using the 2-elements array and the 4-elements array, the radiated beam of the second harmonic wave was scanned more widely compared with the case of the fundamental wave radiation.

  • Experiments in methane-air low strain rate counterflow diffusion flames diluted with nitrogen have been conducted to study the behavior of flame extinction and edge flame oscillation in which flame length is less than the burner diameter and thus lateral conduction heat loss in addition to radiative heat loss could be remarkable at low global strain rates. Critical mole fraction at flame extinction is examined with velocity ratio and global strain rate. Onset conditions of edge flame oscillation and flame oscillation modes are also provided with global strain rate and added nitrogen mole fraction to fuel stream (fuel Lewis number). It is seen that flame length is closely relevant to lateral heat loss, and this affects flame extinction and edge flame oscillation considerably. Edge flame oscillations in low strain rate flames are experimentally described well and are categorized into three: a growing oscillation mode, a decaying oscillation mode, and a harmonic oscillation mode. The regime of flame oscillation is also provided at low strain rate flames. Important contribution of lateral heat loss even to edge flame oscillation is clarified.

  • We report a theoretical description of ferromagnetic vortex motion in sub-micrometer size magnetic thin film. Based on Thiele's equation combined with later theoretical achievements, we derive the analytic description of dynamics of ferromagnetic vortex core as a damped harmonic oscillatory motion. Consequently, the relations about frequency and damping constant in damped harmonic oscillation are presented. The validity of the results is verified through micromagnetic simulation.

  • The WCHF-FSJTC (wavelet circular harmonic function frequency selective joint transform correlator) using th wavelet transformed CHF as the reference image in FSJTC is proposed for rotation invariant pattern recognition. Since the wavelet transform has the property of feature extraction, the proposed system can have the better DC (discrimination cpability) and the higher SNR(signal to noise ratio) compared with the conventional CHF-CJTC(circular harmonic function conventional joint transform correlator). And since the structure of the proposed system is FSJTC which can eliminate auto-correlation and cross-correlation between input images, it can eliminate false alarm caused by the overlapping among correlation peaks. The used wavelet functio is the morlet function, which is proper for the reference image used in this paper. the optimal dialation parameter and oscillation frequency of the wavelet function are also achieved with varying the parameters of the wavelet function. The computer simulation shows that the proposed system has the best performance when the dilation parameter is 0.8 and the oscillation frequency is 0.48.

  • In conventional sinusoidal wave PWM control, torque oscillation is a problem on account of harmonic component. This paper deals with the choice of line-to-line voltage modulation method, which is effective in using DC(direct current) source voltage and in controlling harmonic oscillation, and the pattern to reduce swiching loss through 1/3 pause of switching interral. So, this paper deals with valid realization of harmonic component and high torque response on variable load by simulation and experiments to compensate occurring problems when line-to-line modulation are applied to PWM inverter.

  • We had experimental studies of microwave output generator. We experimented with a corrugate-shped K-band slow wave guide in the backward wave oscillator. It generated output 표 interaction between electron beam's generation and magnetic field. We estimated oscillation frequency at 24GHz by changing propagation velocity and group velocity. We identified movement by second harmonic of Cherencov interaction and slow cyclotron mode. In our study we achieved oscillation stabilization, generation of long pulse, improvement of oscillation efficiency and output.
