  • In this paper we propose novel method for cost of harbor facility of redevelopment of Mookho harbor at Donghae city by using ICT(Information Communication Technology) and Social Network System that is able to participate most residents instead of partly participation for harbor development. In order to do this, we analyze urban marketing which was maximally reflected opinion of resident by using previous simple questionnaire as well as various SNS (Social Network System) as method of effective resident's participation in process harbor redevelopment. We perform optimal selection for ratio of resident's participation. We also propose calculation of optimal construction cost and method of urban marketing.

  • A new approach to reliability analysis of rubble mound breakwater using neural network is proposed. At first, a neural network model which can estimate the stability number of any breakwaters for some design conditions is trained. Then, the neural network model is integrated with Monte Carlo simulation technique in order to calculate probability of failure for the breakwater. The proposed technique is compared with conventional approach using empirical formula.

  • In this paper, as one of the fusion of IT and ocean technology, we propose a scheme to support NEMO in a harbor area network to provide network mobility for passengers, distribution as well as give a connection to an MN from an outside network. In a harbor area under PMIPv6 with NEMO support, a problem could be occurred due to overlapping HA/LMA tunnels and duplicate BCE fields. To Solve these problems, we consider the existing mobility option and add an optional field in the PBU message, which can notify the LMA and HA for either an initial connection or handover request. This procedure can reduce some overlapped steps of binding procedure. Hence, our proposed scheme could reduce an amount of delay and save the processing resource in the harbor area under PMIPv6 with NEMO support.

  • In order to improve inefficient and unproductive factors and in response to criticisms of the failure in harbor privatization introduced in 1997, the Korean government introduced the Port Authority system, which is commonly adopted in advanced harbors in the world. This research examined the theoretical background of harbor management system and various cases of harbor management in foreign countries. The desirable introduction of Port Authority system must be preceded by the settlement of problems in harbor structure and operation. In addition, the Port Authority Act, which restricts the autonomy of harbor corporations, should be improved for user-centered Port Authority system. Strategies for the successful introduction of Incheon Port Authority are as follows. Firstly it is required to establish consumer-centered harbor operation system. The second requirement is to activate the harbor logistics industry through the development of nearby logistic complexes led by Port Authority and, by doing so, to promote the development of local economy. Thirdly it is essential to lay the foundation of mutual prosperity through developing profitable businesses by linking localities and harbors, and to suggest a crisis control network for Port Authority and local self-governing bodies to cope jointly with crises in logistics and natural disasters.

  • Modernized GNSS such as new GPS signals updated GLONASS and coming Galileo promises higher quality and higher reliability for users. Powerful technologies such as Internet, ubiquitous network technology and sensor network has been used to promote a safe and more secure lifestyle. This report describes experimental trials to combine these technologies namely GPS and Sensor Network into a high-performance system. GPS is used to enlarge the communication range, resolving the service area limitations, as a wider service area is required at shore areas compared to urban area. GPS position datum is also used as primary network routing information to get practical Sensor Network. Another application is the under water Sensor Network. Accurate GPS position and time are used to establish stable and high reliability underwater acoustic Sensor Network. This paper describes the background of the project 'Harbor area Marine Ubiquitous Sensor Network', preliminary consideration and testing. Radio and acoustic communication is the main focus of this preliminary experiment.

  • The process of berthing/deberthing operations for entering/leaving vessels in Busan northern harbor was analyzed and evaluated by using an integrated VTS(vessel traffic service) system installed in the ship training center of Pukyong National University, Busan, Korea. The integrated VTS system used in this study was consisted of ARPA radar, ECDIS(electronic chart display and information system), backup(recording) system, CCTV(closed-circuit television) camera system, gyro-compass, differential GPS receiver, anemometer, AIS(automatic identification system), VHF(very high frequency) communication system, etc. The network of these systems was designed to communicate with each other automatically and to exchange the critical information about the course, speed, position and intended routes of other traffic vessels in the navigational channel and Busan northern harbor. To evaluate quantitatively the overall dynamic situation such as maneuvering motions for target vessel and its tugboats while in transit to and from the berth structure inside a harbor, all traffic information in Busan northern harbor was automatically acquired, displayed, evaluated and recorded. The results obtained in this study suggest that the real-time tracking information of traffic vessels acquired by using an integrated VTS system can be used as a useful reference data in evaluating and analyzing exactly the dynamic situation such as the collision between ship and berth structure, in the process of berthing/deberthing operations for entering/leaving vessels in the confined waters and harbor.

  • In this paper, we propose a QoS information collection method at the information server in maritime networks with multi-network interfaces, and a route selection scheme based of the measured predictive QoS information comparing with parameters requested from a mobile node in a ship entering into a harbor from near-shore area. By changing network conditions and applying various application bandwidths, we check the operation of our proposed scheme and measure its performance of the original and proposed schemes in the viewpoints of the received packet traffic and end-to-end delays.

  • China has been the hub of business in Asia' and has developed infra-system and development policy on harbor and logistics. Investment on development of Sanghai port and fang river has been increasing. This development has put importance on logistics in East Asia Additionally, port surrounding of China has been activated Therefore, This paper is going to suggest three measures. First, shipping corporation of Korea will provide different services and network according to the growth of China logistics. Secondly, Korea is to invest with Chinese companies around fang river to freight service industry. Thirdly, it is to construct Yellow sea Rim transport network by Sanghai port and fang river development.

  • Coastal wave and tide information is very important in various occasions for port and harbor engineers, in the stages such as port and harbor planning, maritime structure design, maritime construction management, and coastal disaster study This paper introduces recent improvement of Japanese coastal wave-tide observation and information system named as NOWPHAS (Nationwide Ocean Wave information network for Ports and HArbourS).   • TIN은 Triangulated Irregular Network의 약자로 불규칙한 대소삼각형의 집합으로 삼각망을 구성, 지표면을 Digital Terrain Model로 만드는 기법이다. 지표면(해저지형포함)은 수치화된 등고선의 벡터 데이터와 점의 표고데이터 또는 표고 평행배열의 Raster데이터로부터 모형화되며 또는 제 3의 방법인 TIN에 의해 모형화된다. 이 TIN에 의한 도형은 컴퓨터가 위성측량, 항공측량, 광파측량 또는 음차수심측량등 측량결과를 받아 어떤 특정 프로그램을 구동 삼각형의 정점에 해당하는 점의 X, Y, Z의 좌표로부터 닫한 삼각형을 작성한다.
