In this paper, we analyzed weak points of press process with the rolled thin flexible plate. The problems which are caused by the adhesion of blank on the surface of die and the separation of blank from scrap during its transportation after blanking were solved by the redesign of the structure of die and the development of special equipment for material handling. It is our purpose to make better the automation of blanking process and the safety for worker by the improvement of flexible material handling.

To promote process effectiveness and efficiency, it is necessary that port logistics employ automated equipments for handling containers. There exists a system for automatically managing the container flow, called Control Module. However, it has limitation to assign the execution order to the machine and monitor the container flow in real time process. Business process management (BPM) provides a suitable and effective framework to address this problem including controlling and monitoring the flow of each container. Since the nature of container handling process is different with the common process in BPM that is conducted by human performer, it is necessary to adjust the BPM framework in the domain of port logistic management. This study presents a BPM framework corresponds with both human-based and machine-based activity to enhance the efficiency of port process flow including container flow. This framework is introduced as an integrated approach and mechanism of BPM application into the container handling system for the purpose of port logistics process automation.
There are certain guidelines on the channel design such as domestic guidelines(Korean and japanese, etc.)and international guideline known as PIANC Rules(Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses Rules), in the world These rules have considered many factors such as natural conditions, ship maneuverability and geographical features etc. But it is contented toot the area of these rules toot are meant to facilitate the ease of ship-handling is insufficient. To satisfy this point in design process, it is necessary to take into account the difficulties encountered in ship-handling within these inland waterways. Because many vessels are navigating at the same time within these waterways, the specific navigable traffic volume should be considered with regard to the standard process of route designing. It must also be considered with regard to the volume of navigable traffic bemuse of ship-handling difficulty toot arises within the same waterway with varying amounts of traffic volume because toot ship-handling/manueverability is directly influenced by these factors. This paper aims to propose a new approach to the design of standard inland water route considering the traffic volume and the shape of waterway. Also consider the relationship among these factors may affect to the ship-handling difficulties.

This paper is a study on the modeling of the quantity estimation model for offshore plant Material handling equipment in FEED(Front End Engineering Design) verification stage using system engineering approach which is an engineering design methods. The relevant engineering execution procedure is not systemized although the operation method and Material handling equipment selection with weight and space constraints is a key part of the FEED. Using the system engineering process, the stakeholder requirements analysis process, the system requirements analysis, and the final system architecture design were sequentially performed, and the process developed through the functional development diagram and Requirement traceability matrix (RTM) was verified. In addition, based on the established process, we propose a Material handling quantity estimation model and Quantity calculation verification Table that can be applied at the FEED verification stage and we verify the applicability through case studies.
The process equipment for handling high level radioactive materials like spent fuels is operated in a hot cell, due to high radioactivity. Thus, this equipment should be maintained and repaired optimally by a remotely operated manipulator. The master-slave manipulators(MSM) are widely used as a remote handling device in the hot cell. The equipment in the hot cell should be optimally placed within the workspace of the wall-mounted slave manipulator for the maintenance operation. But, because of the complexity in the hot cell, there would be some parts of the equipment that are not reached by the MSM. In this study, the maintenance process for these parts of the equipment is developed using virtual prototyping technology. To analyze the workspace of the maintenance device in the hot cell and to develop the maintenance processes for the process equipment, the virtual mock-up of the hot cell for the spent fuel handling process is implemented using IGRIP. For the implementation of the virtual mock-up, the parts of the equipment and maintenance devices such as the MSM and servo manipulator are modeled and assembled in 3-D graphics, and the appropriate kinematics are assigned. Also, the virtual workcell of the spent fuel management process is implemented in the graphical environment, which is the same as the real environment. Using this mock-up, the workspace of the manipulators in the hot cell and the operator's view through the wall-mounted lead glass are analyzed. Also, for the dedicated maintenance operation, the analyses for the detailed area of the end effectors in accordance with the slave manipulator's position and orientation are carried out. The parts of the equipment that are located outside of the MSM's workspace are specified and the maintenance process of the parts using the servo manipulator that is mounted in the hot cell is proposed. To monitor the process in the hot cell remotely, the virtual display system by a virtual camera in the virtual work cell is also proposed. And the graphic simulation using a virtual mock-up is performed to verify the proposed maintenance process. The maintenance process proposed in this study can be effectively used in the real hot cell operation and the implemented virtual mock-up can be used for analyzing the various hot cell operations and enhancing the reliability and safety of the spent fuel management.

This study is concerned with the economic analysis of implementing a material handling system using automated guided vehicle(AGV)s in order to improve the productivity of the production process of chinawares. Analytic hierarchy process(AHP) method for selecting the facilities of material handling systems is presented. Subsequently, as an example, a chinaware production line is analyzed for the economic analysis. The result shows that seven manpowers can be reduced. However the introduction of the new material handling system is turn out to be undesirable due to high initial cost of AGV system, Nevertheless, in the long term, automatic material handling system such as AGV system are expected to play major roles in the modern manufacturing area.

This paper describes the development process of high stiffness body for ride and handling performance. High stiffness and light weight vehicle is a major target in the refinement of Passenger cars to meet customers' contradictable requirements between ride and handling performance and fuel economy This paper describes the analysis approach process for high stiffness body through the data level of body stiffness. According to the frequency band. we can suggest the design guideline about lg cornering static stiffness, torsional and lateral stiffness, body attachment stiffness. The ride and handling characteristic of a vehicle Is significantly affected by vibration transferred to the body through the chassis mounting points from front and rear suspension. It is known that body attachment stiffness is an important factor of ride and handling performance improvement. And high stiffness helps to improve the flexibility of bushing rate tuning between handling and road noise. It makes possible to design the good handling performance vehicle and save vehicles to be used in tests by using mother car at initial design stage. These improvements can lead to shortening the time needed to develop better vehicles.

In this study, the graphical design system is developed and the digital mock-up is implemented for designing the spent fuel handling and disassembling processes. This system is used throughout the design stages from the conceptual design to the motion analysis. By using this system, all the processes involved in the spent fuel handling and disassembling precesses are analyzed and optimized. Also, this system is used in developing the on-line graphic simulator to enhance the reliability and safety of the spent fuel handling process by providing the remote monitoring function of the process. The graphical design system and the digital mock-up system can be effectively used for designing the process equipment, as well as the optimization of the main processes and maintenance processes of the spent fuel management.
This paper describes the process of analyzing vehicle stiffness in terms of frequency band in order to improve vehicle handling. Vehicle handling and ride comfort are highly related to the systems such as suspension, seat, steering, and the car body design. In existing analytical processes, the resonance frequency of a car body is designed to be greater than 25 Hz in order to increase the stiffness of the body against idle vibration. This paper introduces a method for using a band with a frequency lower than 20 Hz to analyze how stiffness affects vehicle handling. Accordingly, static stiffness analysis of a 1g cornering force was conducted to minimize the deformation of vehicle components derived from a load on parts attached to the suspension. In addition, this technology is capable of achieving better performance than older technology. Analysis of how body attachment stiffness affects the dynamic stiffness of a bushing in the attachment parts of the suspension is expected to lead to improvements with respect to vehicle handling and road noise. The process of developing a car body with a high degree of stiffness, which was accomplished in the preliminary stage of this study, confirms the possibility of improving the stability performance and of designing a lightweight prototype car. These improvements can reduce the time needed to develop better vehicles.
