  • This study examines the effect of the structural properties of F/W wool knit fabrics for woman's knitwear on the perceptions of textures and sensible images of consumers and present basic data for textile designing by analyzing the relationship among the structural properties, mechanical properties, objective hand measurements and preferences. A total of 12 kinds of knit fabrics were prepared and investigated in terms of the differences in the subjective, mechanical properties and objective hand measurements according to the structural properties of knit fabrics. The data were analyzed by t-test. The subjective hand attributes of wool knits through factor analysis are categorized into 6 factors. In particular, the 'active/comfort' factor is a meaningful result that reflects the unique characteristics of knit fabrics compared to woven fabrics. Mechanical properties and objective hand measurements have a greater effect on textures than on sensible images; in addition, the structural properties, 'gauge' was the most important factor to influence the subjective evaluation.

Automatic Hand Measurement System from 2D Hand Image for Customized Glove Production

  • Recent advancements in optics technology enable us to realize fast scans of hands using two-dimensional (2D) image scanners. In this paper, we propose an automatic hand measurement system using 2D image scanners for customized glove production. To develop the automatic hand measurement system, firstly hand scanning devices has been constructed. The devices are designed to block external lights and have user interface to guide hand posture during scanning. After hands are scanned, hand contour is extracted using binary image processing, noise elimination and outline tracing. And then, 19 hand landmarks are automatically detected using an automatic hand landmark detection algorithm based on geometric feature analysis. Then, automatic hand measurement program is executed based on the automatically extracted landmarks and measurement algorithms. The automatic hand measurement algorithms have been developed for 18 hand measurements required for custom-made glove pattern making. The program has been coded using the C++ programming language. We have implemented experiments to demonstrate the validity of the system using 11 subjects (8 males, 3 females) by comparing automatic 2D scan measurements with manual measurements. The result shows that the automatic 2D scan measurements are acceptable in the customized glove making industry. Our evaluation results confirm its effectiveness and robustness.

산업체에서의 손 위생 관리 현황 및 손 소독기 필요성에 대한 인지도 조사 (Research of Hand Sanitation Level and Recognition for Hand Sanitizer Usage in Working Pl aces(Industries))

  • To show the recognition of hand-sanitizer, we studied the answers of research questions where we got from the northern part of Seoul and Kyunggi Province. We had categorized two groups both industry-related people who work in restaurants, hygiene service shops, whole sales, government organizations, PC shops, factory-department stores and non industry-related people who work in schools, general offices for this study. 1. Hand sanitation level: Over 60% people washed hands 6 times a day. The group using water and soap was much bigger than the group using water for washing hands. For drying, people preferred wipe tissue, towels, clothes, non drying in that order. 2. Recognition of hand sanitizer and its usage experience: Most people(66.5%) did not know what hand sanitizer is, but they have positive attitude if they use this machine. 3. Place of hand sanitizer: The proper places to install were such public places as hospitals, restrooms, and restaurants. The fifties-group was the most frequently hand washing generation with over 9 times a day. 4. Comparison of recognition for hand-sanitizer by male and female: There were different results in each evaluation item by either male or female. The frequency and method of hand washing showed high in males, while females observed hand sanitization, installation requirements, installation areas, home installation, etc more than anything else.

  • As Industrialization gets more and more advanced, human technological medical apparatus for dentistry has been developed. Such a medical apparatus have to let precision revolution and torque control facilitate. Consequently, Development of Micro hand-piece with strong durability should be required. Moreover, It's also very important to evaluate performance of such a Micro hand-piece, Evaluation of Mechanical property of Material and ANOVA have been known as useful methods in the field of Quality Evaluation. For Verification of Quality Evaluation, It has been evaluated by One-way layout ANOVA based on the data of Surface Roughness Test. Anyhow, This test has been respectively carried out by 3 kinds of Test and Superior performance has appeared in the Test result.

미소 광필터 성능평가 시스템 및 프로그램 개발 (Development of Evaluation System and Program for the Performance of Micro Optical Filters)

  • The automatic assembly system of micro optical filter is a key technology in the development of optical modules with high functionality. In order to create such automatic assembly system of optical filter, we have developed the system and program capable of evaluation of $30\mum$-thick film optical filter as well as conventional optical filters performances. Moreover, we have carried out the evaluation of optical filter using developed system and program, and we have compared and analyzed them with by conventional hand work. As results, the measured performances based on the present system are more fast, precise and reliable then those of the conventional hand work. In addition to that, the system can apply for various optical collimators and filters.

  • Most product structural components are assembled by various members and castings except casting products. In such cases, a particular structure is required to move and fix each component. In particular, the safety uncertainty of heavy product assemblies can be linked to large accidents. Thus, the safety design and evaluation of additional structures have become more important. In the field and factories, these additional structures are called handling structures, which are designed and manufactured. As the types of products produced become more diverse, the design and manufacture of a handling structure are also diversified. The results of each evaluation should be derived. We develop a logical design and evaluation method, which was previously designed based on empirical data, for the handling structure.

초음파검사 시 기존 초음파젤과 비교한 손소독제의 유용성 연구 (A Study on the Effectiveness of Hand Sanitizer compared to Conventional Ultrasound Gel during Ultrasound Examination)

  • 본 연구는 시중에 판매되고 있는 다양한 성분과 제형의 손 소독제들을 전파 매질로 활용하여 초음파 검사를 진행한 후 획득한 영상을 평가·비교하여 기존의 초음파 젤의 대체 가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 점도가 낮은 liquid type을 제외한 gel type, cream type, foam type의 제형의 제품들을 선정해 에탄올 62% gel type 1개와 cream type 1개, 벤잘코늄 염화물 0.066% cream type 1개와 foam type 1개를 각각 초음파 매질로 사용하여, 축방향 & 측방향 분해능, 투과심도, probe와 phantom 사이의 공기층 형성유무에 관한 영상 평가를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 축방향 & 측방향 분해능 평가와 투과심도 평가에서 4개 실험군 모두 평가 기준에 적합한 결과가 나왔다. 그러나 foam type의 경우 분해능과 투과심도의 평가 기준에는 적합하지만 영상 평가 시 관찰 중심부를 제외한 양 측면부에서 어두운 음영으로 나타났다. 해당 실험을 통해 foam type을 제외한 나머지 3종의 손 소독제는 초음파 젤을 대체할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

신경혈관 줄기를 침범한 수부종양의 미세현미경적 접근 (Microscopic Approach of Mass Involving Neurovascular Pedicle in the Hand)

  • Purpose: Mass can compress around tissue and cause deviation of normal anatomical structures. Often, mass grows toward neurovascular pedicle and encircles depending on the nature of mature mass. Neglecting neurovascular involvement of the mass is a serious problem not to be overlooked. Authors have performed microscopic approach regarding mass involving the neurovascular pedicle in the hand. Materials and Methods: From January 2007 through February 2012, retrospective analysis for nine cases of mass involving neurovascular pedicles was done. Patients were evaluated preoperatively by ultrasonography or MRI and checked intraoperative finding. Masses were evaluated by site, preoperative evaluation, involved neurovascular pedicle, histopathologic diagnosis, complication, and recurrence. Results: The site of mass involving neurovascular pedicles was 4 cases on the wrist, 2 cases on the palm, 2 cases on the finger, 1 case on the hand dorsum. Involved neurovascular pedicles were 3 radial arteries and nerves, 3 proper digital arteries and nerves, 1 radial artery, 1 superficial branch of radial nerve, 1 common digital artery and nerve. The histopathologic diagnosis of mass were 3 ganglions, 2 giant cell tumors, 2 epidermal cysts, 1 fibroma, and 1 benign spindle tumor. There were 2 cases of recurrence and secondary excisions were performed. Conclusion: Neurovascular pedicle injury can lead to serious complication like sensory and motor disorders, distal part ischemia, and so on. In case of mass suspected neurovascular invasion, accurate preoperative evaluation such as ultrasonography or MRI is necessary. To prevent any neurovascular related complication during mass excision, delicate surgical technique using a microscope becomes essential.

핸드 제스처를 인식하는 손동작 추적 (Hand Movement Tracking and Recognizing Hand Gestures)

  • 본 논문은 핸드 제스쳐에 의해 증강현실 내의 가상 객체 제어기술로, HOG기반의 핸드 제스쳐 인식을 제안하고 있다. 인식을 위한 특징점들은 HOG불럭들에 의하여 결정되며, 크기가 다른 여러 불럭들을 시험하여 가장 적절한 불럭구성을 결정하며, AdaBoostSVM기법을 사용하여 분류 목적에 가장 적절한 불럭들을 추출한다. 실험 결과 핸드 제스쳐 인식률은 94% 이었다.

  • Effect of hand-transmitted vibration on human discomfort and health was reviewed. Since the effect by hand tool was more serious than those by any other vibration environments, western countries have protected hand tool workers by regulations. International organization for standardization legislate standard, ISO 5349, at 1979 for the measurement and evaluation of the effect. Afterwards, more than twenty standards on hand-arm vibration were enacted to Protect any damage of hand tool users. Even though Korea Standards adopted ISO 5349 in 2001, it is required an action plan should be applied to all of work environments, especially to the workers using pneumatic tool workwers such as miners, construction workers, and etc.
