  • In this paper, a λ/4 hair-pin resonator is proposed to reduce the size of resonators. A LTCC MLC bandpass filter is designed using the λ/4 hair-pin resonators. The electromagnetic coupling structure between two planar resonators is analysed. The equivalent circuit is derived to explain the behavior of the LTCC MLC bandpass filter using λ/4 hair-pin resonators. A design procedure is also described. The simulated and measured results of 1.8 GHz band 2-pole bandpass filter are presented.

  • Aperture has been employed on the ground plane in the Hair Pin resonator. Aperture made by etching the part of the ground effected coupling coefficient and then quality factor of Hair Pin resonator has been increased. When the hair pin oscillator using aperture has been compared with the conventional hair pin oscillator using microstrip, it has been improved the phase noise about 19dBc @100KHz. Oscillation frequency of the hair pin oscillator using aperture has been 5.83GHz band and output power is -4.33dBm.

  • In this paper, A VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in use of clock recovery/data regeneration circuit for 10 Gbps fiber optic receivers was developed. The improved hair-pin resonator with a parallel coupled lines, which has been applied to microstrip filters, was used as a resonance part. As a frequcncy tuning device by substituting 3-terminalMESFET vaaractor for varactor diode, an MMIC manufacturing process will be simplified. Since a hair-pin resonator is planar type compared to the dielectric resonator and has a relatively flat reactance verus frequency, it will be favorable to apply a hair-pin resonator to an MMIC, in addition wideband frequency tuning range is able to be obtained.

  • Hair pin bending machine is pipe forming machine consisting of heat exchanger product system. Hair pin produced by these machine is pathway of refrigerant and play a important role improving the performance and productivity of heat exchanger. The core technology of hair pin bending machine is forming the straight pipe into U-type without any defaults. Therefore, this paper study the relation between the pipe bending forming and the shape and position of mandrel using the elastic-plastic finite element analysis and provide a foundation technology for which developing the hair pin bending machine. The results are followed 1. Mandrel located in front of rotating center of bending die minimized the circular shape variation of copper pipe. 2. Diameter change of mandrel hardly effect the pipe shape.

  • A hair-pin shaped microstrip-line resonator and dielectric resonator for injection-locked oscillators have been designed and fabricated for the comparative studying of their performances. In general, a commonly used dielectric resonator shows lower phase noise value than hair-pin resonator in the free-running mode. In the injection-locked mode, however, a hair-pin resonator is superior to the dielectric resonator, the wider tuning range, the 22% improved locking bandwidth, the lower noise effect, the short term stability, and the higher power level. The planar structure of a hair-pin shaped microstrip-line resonator will be easily applied to monolithic microwave integrated circuits.

  • In the thesis, For improving the Stability of VCHRO(Voltage Controlled Hair-pin Resonator Oscillator) the new structure using the parallel feedback of the second harmonic is proposed for self-phase locking effect. This module is composed of wilkinson divider, frequency doubler, directional coupler, and bandpass filter using a hair-pin resonator, which are integrated into miniaturized hybrid circuit. The module exhibits output power of 2.5 dBm at 19.5 GHz, -29.83 dBc fundamental frequency suppression and -76.52 dBc/Hz phase noise at 10 kHz offset frequency from carrier of center frequency 19.5 GHz.

  • In this paper, PIFA antenna for $2.40{\sim}2.482GHz\;and\;5.75{\sim}5.85GHz$ is designed, fabricated, and measured. The prototype consist of hair-pin and short-pin. To obtain suitable bandwidth, the form layer is inserted between ground plane and substrate. Important parameters in the design are hair-pin length, width, position, air-gap height, and feed point position. From these parameters optimized, a PIFA antenna is fabricated and measured. The measured results of the antenna are obtained as follows results. The resonant frequency of the fabrication PIFA antenna is 2.37GHz and 5.86GHz bandwidth for approximately 90MHz with 350MHz(VSWR<2.0) and the gain is $1.91{\sim}4.37dBi$. H-plan and E-plan at 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz are shown as $52.83^{\circ},\;85.90^{\circ}\;and\;68.68^{\circ},\;52.143^{\circ}$ respectively.

  • In this paper, a K-band oscillator which is composed of a hair-pin resonator, a GaAs MESFET, and a frequency doubler, is suggested, implemented by HMIC(Hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuits) form, and characterized for its microwave performance. A $\lambda_g$/4 open stub is used in frequency doubler to suppress the fundamental frequency of 9 GHz which is the output of the hair-pin resonator oscillator and output matching network is optimized for its second harmonic freuency of 18 HGz. For the oscillator, the output power of -0.83 dBm, the fundamental frequency suppression of -23 dBc, and phase noise of -86 dBc/Hz at 18.20 GHz are obtained.
