  • Wireless internet service is an important factor to support all industries. In order to connect and use the smart phones or the laptop via a wireless Internet connection, it has been increasing the hacking risks associated with it. As information spills through the DNS address modulation of the Internet router, hacking threats through a wireless router is present. In this paper, we are dealing with the hacking technique utilizing the overall vulnerability of a wireless LAN. We analyzed the need for the wireless LAN security through WEP encryption algorithm and the improved encryption algorithm. In addition, we presented a countermeasure against these hacking technologies which is WEP Crack using wireless vulnerability hacking technology, DDoS attacks, DNS Spoofing.

  • Since 1910s, the drones were mainly used for military purposes for reconnaissance and attack targets, but they are now being used in various fields such as disaster prevention, exploration, broadcasting, and surveillance of risk areas. As drones are widely used from military to civilian field, hacking into the drones such as radio disturbance, GPS spoofing, hijacking, etc. targeting drones has begun to occur. Recently, the use of drones in hacking into wireless network has been reported. If the artificial intelligence technology is applied to the drones in the military, hacking into unmanned combat system using drones will occur. In addition, a drone with a hacking program may be able to relay a hacking program to the hacking drone located far away, just as a drone serves as a wireless communication station. And the drones will be equipped with a portable GPS jamming device, which will enable signal disturbance to unmanned combat systems. In this paper, we propose security threats and the anticipated hacking scenarios using the drones on the battlespace to know the seriousness of the security threats by hacking drones and prepare for future cyberspace.

  • As internet is spreaded widely, the number of cyber terror using hacking and virus is increased. Also the hacking to the internet shopping mall go on increasing. If the large shopping mall is attacked by the hacker, a number of user's information are exposed to the hacker. The private information as like a resident registration number, user's real name, the date of user's birth, the mobile phone number, the office phone number / address, the home phone number / address and so on include the information. These information are used in the phishing e-mails / call and spam. And them are selling and buying maliciously. The large internet shopping mall 'auction' was hacked in April, 2008. After the incident, this paper suggested a countermeasures on the hacking for the internet shopping mall. The technical item and political item are included among the countermeasures. The countermeasures can protect the hacking not only the internet shopping mall but also the web sites basically.

  • The hacking attacks as a DDoS attack on a telecommunications network has depleted the network resources. When hacking attack occurs a user can not access to the network and can not use the telecommunication services. Professional Engineers with expertise and experience in the field of Information and communication could play an important role to respond to the hacking attacks. Professional Engineers will build the information and communication network system for the hacking countermeasures.

  • Many defensive mechanisms have been evolved as new attack methods are developed. However, APT attacks using e-mail are still hard to detect and prevent. Recently, many organizations in the government sector or private sector have been hacked by malicious e-mail based APT attacks. In this paper, first, we built hacking e-mail database based on the real e-mail data which were used in attacks on the Korean government organizations in recent years. Then, we extracted features from the hacking e-mails for profiling them. We design a case vector that can describe the specific characteristics of hacking e-mails well. Finally, based on case based reasoning, we made an algorithm for retrieving the most similar case from the hacking e-mail database when a new hacking e-mail is found. As a result, hacking e-mails have common characteristics in several features such as geo-location information, and these features can be used for classifying benign e-mails and malicious e-mails. Furthermore, this proposed case based reasoning algorithm can be useful for making a decision to analyze suspicious e-mails.

  • Purpose This study collects data of the recently activated online black market and analyzes it to present a specific method for preparing for a hacking attack. This study aims to make safe from the cyber attacks, including hacking, from the perspective of individuals and businesses by closely analyzing hacking methods and tools in a situation where they are easily shared. Design/methodology/approach To prepare for the hacking attack through the online black market, this study uses the routine activity theory to identify the opportunity factors of the hacking attack. Based on this, text mining and social network techniques are applied to reveal the most dangerous areas of security. It finds out suitable targets in routine activity theory through text mining techniques and motivated offenders through social network analysis. Lastly, the absence of guardians and the parts required by guardians are extracted using both analysis techniques simultaneously. Findings As a result of text mining, there was a large supply of hacking gift cards, and the demand to attack sites such as Amazon and Netflix was very high. In addition, interest in accounts and combos was in high demand and supply. As a result of social network analysis, users who actively share hacking information and tools can be identified. When these two analyzes were synthesized, it was found that specialized managers are required in the areas of proxy, maker and many managers are required for the buyer network, and skilled managers are required for the seller network.

  • As the value of technical information increases, hacking attacks are trying to steal technical information through hacking. Recently, hacking of cryptocurrency exchanges is much easier to monetize than existing technical information, making it a major attack target for hackers. In the case of technical information, it is required to seize the technical information and sell it to the black market for cashing. In the case of cryptocurrency, most hacking attacks are concentrated on cryptocurrency exchanges because it is easy to cash out and not easy to track when successful hacking. Although technology cannot be hacked, cryptocurrency transactions traded on cryptocurrency exchanges are not recorded on the blockchain which is simply internal exchanges, so insiders may manipulate the quotes and leave gaps or leak out. Therefore, this research analyzes the recent hacking attacks of cryptocurrency exchanges and proposes solutions to secure cryptocurrency trading.
