Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of Phaseoli Semen Herbal-acupuncture(PS-HA) at $KI_{10}$ in acute nephritis induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in rat. Methods : The rats were divided into 5 groups, which were control, LPS, PS-HA, NP and saline group. LPS, PS-HA, NP and saline groups were given LPS to induce acute nephritis and control group did not receive LPS. LPS group did not receive any treatment after the onset of acute nephritis. PS-HA, NP and saline group received PS-HA, normal acupuncture, and saline injection at $KI_{10}$ three times per week, respectively. To evaluate the effect of PS-HA at $KI_{10}$, the complete blood count, BUN, creatinine, TNF-${\alpha}$, and CINC-1 in serum were measured. To show its effect on renal function, creatinine, and total protein in urine was measured as well as urine output. The level of myeloperoxidase in renal tissue was quantified and complete histology was done in kidney samples obtained from the rats. Results : PS-HA group showed a significant reduction in the proportion of WBC and neutrophil, serum BUN, TNF-${\alpha}$, and CINC-1 compared to LPS group. Furthermore, a significant increase in urine output and a decrease in urinary creatinine level, MPO in renal tissue, and number of neutrophils at glomerulus was observed in PS-HA group compared to LPS group Conclusions : PS-HA at $KI_{10}$ was shown to have a significantly effect on treating LPS induced acute nephrits. Therefore, future study is needed to further evaluate the clinical usefulness of PS-HA at $KI_{10}$ in treating acute nephritis.

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th 6th cranial nerve and the ophthalmic division of the 5th cranial nerve are derived from the optic foramen and superior orbital fissure. When these contents are attacked by a trauma the superior orbital fissure syndrome or the more severe orbital apex syndrome are onsetted. As their treatment we can consider the conservative treatment with the hypertonic solution and steroid. Also we can consider the more radical surgery. But their indications are debatable. As the emergency state the treatment plan requires rapid decision and very much considerations equaly. And the legal problems can be happened.

Excessive growth of phytoplankton is a common and severe problem in intensively farmed pangasiid catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) culture ponds. It can lead to cyanobacterial blooms, reduced fish growth, bad-tasting fish flesh, and lower market demand. To investigate how to manage undesirable phytoplankton growth, we evaluated three stocking strategies in nine rural fishponds (0.020-0.022 ha) owned by various farmers: a pangasiid catfish mono culture (treatment 1, $T_1$), and pangasiid catfish-silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) polycultures at two stocking ratios of 1:1 (treatment 2, $T_2$) and 2:1 (treatment 3, $T_3$). The total density of all ponds was approximately 30,000 fishes/ha. Monoculture ($T_1$) resulted in significantly higher (p < 0.05) nutrient levels (nitrate and phosphate) in ponds than did polyculture ($T_2$ and $T_3$). Nutrient loads increased with culture time, resulting in increased growth of phytoplankton, including Cyanophyceae (9 genera), Chlorophyceae (15 genera), Bacillariophyceae (8 genera), and Euglenophyceae (3 genera). The introduction of silver carp as a co-species helped to regulate phytoplankton growth and to improve the water quality of pangasiid catfish culture ponds.

In general, amputation has been performed in the treatment of diabetic foot which doesn't respond to the conservative treatment. We have evaluated the existence of post-operative infection, the morbidity of donor site, the degree of recovery of sensation, weight bearing ambulation and recurrence in the 6 cases(5 patients) of diabetic foot patients among the 230 cases of free flap transfer done in our department. In all cases of free flap transfer to diabetic foot, 100% of survival rate was shown. The sensory recovery was more than average of 40% of the area of the transferred flap, and two points discrimination was shown average of 5cm as a result. In all cases, no evidence of post-operative infection was discovered and the weight bearing gradually became easier, and at the average of 5 months after operation, the full weight bearing ambulation became possible. If the infection of diabetic foot and the level of blood sugar could be controlled successfully, the free flap transfer could be considered one of the treatment option to avoid amputation.

It is needed several large reservoirs and long time in order to remove suspended solid like steel fines and iron oxide at steel making factory. If removing rate of suspended solid in rolling coolant is improved, the productivity of working process can be increased and the area of reservoir can be reduced. Pre-treatment to add extra magnetization of suspended solid was studied Iron hydroxide and electrolytic dissociation were used for pretreatment. High gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) system was used for removing of magnetized suspended solid. Removing ratio showed over than 99% in the coolant containing magnetic fines. Magnetic properties of suspended solid were investigated after mixed with Al2(SO2)3 and organic flocculant by using electrochemical treatment.

Objective The case report showed that sudden hearing loss and tinnitus after trigeminal schwannoma surgery were improved with Yeoldahansotang-gamibang. Method The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin interior heat (Ganyeol) disease based on the original symptoms of Taeeumin. He was treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture treatment. Puretone audiometry (PTA), speech audiometry, tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) and the original symptoms were investigated before and after the treatment. Results Right side PTA score was significantly reduced, speech audiometry was improved in speech reception threshold (SRT), word recognition score (WRS) and most comfortable level (MCL) and THI score decreased from 40 to 0, which showed normalizing hearing function. And the patient revealed improvements in sleeping, digestion, stooling, perspiration and facial sensation after treatment. Conclusion This study suggests that Yeoldahansotang-gamibang is effective on sudden hearing loss and tinnitus after surgery by correcting the imbalanced energy of Taeeumin.

Schizophrenia is a frequent psychotic disorder. Recently many studies raised biochemical theory as a cause of schizophrenia. But in this case, we used psychosocial treatment and oriental medical treatment, without antipsychotic drugs for 4 months, obtained good results. Practicing psychosocial treatment, we were able to remove anxiety and fear of the patient. In addition positive symptoms, for example auditory hallucination and delusion, were improved. Schizophrenia conforms to JEONKWANG(癲狂) in oriental medicine. We concluded this case to JEONJUNG(癲證) due to QIULDAMHWA(氣鬱痰火). So we used herbal medication and acupuncture according to oriental medical theory and these efforts helped the care of disease.
