This paper has simulated the PER(Packet Error Rate), ratio of received packet and payload BER of Bluetooth system with packet types of ACL(Asynchronous Connection Less) and SCO(Synchronous Connection Oriented) link over wireless Ad-hoc environment. AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) and Rayleigh fading are considered as channel model, and the analysis is based on the baseband model of Bluetooth system. In terms of PER and ratio of received packet, performance of DM1 packet is almost same as those of HV1, HV2 and HV3 packets, the performances of the other packets depend on the packet types. In terms of payload BER performance, there is no difference among HV2 packet of SCO link and DM1, DM3, DM5 packets of ACL link. Moreover, there is no difference among HV3 packet of SCO link and DM1, DM3, DM5 packets of ACL link, too.

This paper introduces a newly improved Ultra-FRFET that has much better reverse recovery characteristic than that of the typical MOSFET and presents its effectiveness in the HV-BLU system of LCD TVs. The reverse recovery time, $T_{rr}$ of Ultra-FRFET is shorter than 40nsec and the peak value of reverse current, $i_{rr}$ is also much smaller compared to the typical MOSFET's, which are sufficient to prevent the MOSFET’s failures without additional FRDs and diodes in HV-BLU system with a half-bridge resonant inverter topology worked by PWM method. In order to verify the validity, the loss analysis and the implementation results in cases when both the conventional solution using typical MOSFETs with additional FRDs and a new solution using Ultra-FRFETs are applied to a HV-BLU of 40" LCD TV are presented. As a result, the effectiveness of Ultra-FRFET was verified and the results are presented in this paper.
Senescence of Hosta ventricosa flowers was firstly characterized as ethylene-sensitive since the deterioration of the tepal was accompanied by increased endogenous ethylene biosynthesis. The full-length cDNAs and DNAs of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) synthase (ACS) and ACC oxidase (ACO) involved in ethylene biosynthesis were cloned from H. ventricosa flowers. The HvACS ORF with 1347 bp and two introns, encoded a polypeptide of 448 amino acids showing 79% homology with that in Musa acuminata. The HvACO ORF contained 957 bp and three introns, encoding a 318-residue polypeptide showing 83% homology with that in Narcissus tazetta. The timing of the induction of HvACS expression was in correspond to the timing of the increase in ethylene production, and that the up-regulation of HvACO transcript was closely correlated with an elevated ethylene production, but underwent a down-regulation in wounded leaves with elevated ethylene emission. The results, together with expression analysis in vegetative tissues, suggested that both HvACS and HvACO were specifically regulated by flower senescence.
Supplying rate of nitrogen at HV was 172.8 kg $ha^{-1}$, HV/B was 64.3 kg $ha^{-1}$ and B was 38.6 kg $ha^{-1}$. The Rice yield was 7.05 ton $ha^{-1}$ when the nitrogen supply was the largest with HV and 5.42 ton $ha^{-1}$ was produced on HV/B. The chemical characteristics of soil have lower pH and exchangeable cations(Ca and Mg) at B, HV and HV/B, rather than at CF because green manure was applied at the former step. However, the physical characteristics of the soil and the porosity showed different tendency which was that it was better at the green manure crops than CF. Nitrogen nutrient balance was showed the most balanced at CF and field of application of green manure crops were required the appropriate management if future crops would be cultivated because nitrogen nutrient could be exhausted or accumulated.

PURPOSE: This study examined the relationship between the severity of a hallux valgus (HV) deformity and the kinetic three-dimensional ground reaction force (GRF) through a motion analysis system with force platforms in individuals with a HV deformity during normal speed walking. METHODS: The participants were 36 adults with a HV deformity. The participants were asked to walk on a 6 m walkway with 40 infrared reflective markers attached to their pelvic and lower extremities. A camera capture system and two force platforms were used to collect kinetic data during gait. A Vicon Nexus and Visual3D motion analysis software were used to calculate the kinetic GRF data. RESULTS: This research showed that the anterior maximal force that occurred in the terminal stance phase during gait had a negative correlation with the HV angle (r = -.762, p < .01). In addition, the HV angle showed a low negative correlation with the second vertical maximal force (r = .346, p < .05) and a moderate positive correlation with the late medial maximal force (r = .641, p < .01). CONCLUSION: A more severe HV deformity results in greater abnormal translation of the plantar pressure and a significantly reduced pressure force under the first metatarsophalangeal joint.
Rapeseed (Brassica napus) is now the second largest oilseed crop after soybean. Cold temperature tolerance is an important agronomic trait in winter rapeseed that determines the plant's ability to control below freezing temperatures. To improve cold tolerance of rapeseed plants, an expression vector containing an Barley Ice recrystallization inhibition protein (HvIRIP) cDNA driven by a cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter was transferred into rapeseed plants. Transgenic expression of HvIRIP was proved by southern- and northern-blot analyses. The level of freezing tolerance of transgenic $T_3$ plants was found to be significantly greater than that of wild-type rapeseed plants by freezing assay. Proline accumulation during cold stress was also highly induced in the transgenic rapeseed plants. The transgenic plants exhibited considerable tolerance against oxidative damage induced by cold stress. Our results indicated that heterologous HvIRIP expression in transgenic rapeseed plants may induce several oxidative-stress responsive genes to protect from cold stress.

Barley S-adenosylmethionine synthetase1 gene, which was differentially expressed in seed development of extra early barley, was regulated by the phytohormones and abiotic stresses. In order to identify the regulation regions which were involved in transcriptional control of the phytohormones and abiotic stresses, we isolated 1459 bp fragment of HvSAMS1 gene promoter using genome walking strategy and deletion series were constructed. Deleted upstream fragments(-1459, -1223, -999, -766, -545, -301 bp) were fused to the GUS reporter gene and evaluated via Agrobacterium-mediated transient expression assay. Increased GUS activity of HvSMAS1 promoter -301/GUS construct under each of NaCl, $GA_3$, ABA and ethylene application was found. However, GUS activity was negligible in the leaves transformed with the HvSMAS1 promoter(-1459, -1223, -999, -766 and -545)/GUS constructs. No significant induction of GUS activity was observed for the ethionine and spermidine treatments. In order to locate promoter sequence of the HvSAMS1 gene that was critical for the activation of gene expression, deletion and addition promoter derivatives(+, includes 43 bp of 5' ORF) of the HvSAMS1 gene fused to the GUS reporter gene were applied. The tobacco leaves which harbored the additional HvSAMS1 promoter(-1459+, -1459 to -546, -545+ and -301+)/GUS construct did not significantly induce GUS activity as compared to the HvSAMS1 promoter(-1459, -545 and -301)/GUS constructs under each of NaCl, ABA and $GA_3$ treatment. However, the GUS activity was high in the tobacco leaves which harboring the -211 to -141 regions of the HvSAMS1 promoter. This result suggested that HvSAMS1 gene expression might be regulated by this region(from -211 to -141).
To produce PHA(polyhydroxyalkanoic acid) from microbr, dozens of microorganism have been screened from sewage sludge. Selected a strain HJ out of 50 strains of PHA producing bacteria has a capability of accumulating large amounts of PHB/HV copolymer when grown in batch culture with a single carbon source (glucose) that was not generally considered as precursor of hydroxyvalerate monomer unit. The strain HJ was identified as the genus Pseudomonas with respect to morphological, cultural, and biochemical characteristics. The optimal temperature and pH for cell growth were $37^{\circ}C$ and 7.0. The optimal medium compositions for cell growth were glucose 1% as a carbon source, (NH4) 2SO4 0.2% as a nitrogen source, K2HPO4 0.3%, and KH2PO4 0.45%. TO investigate she optimal condition for PHA production two-step cultivation method was employed. PHA production was inducted by deficiency of NH4+, SO4-2, Mg+2. Besides carbon source, deficiency of all nutrients stimulated PHA productivity but deficiency of NH4+ stimulated the most HV monomer content. The highest PHA production was C/N molar ratio 95.2. Pseudomonas sp. HJ was also able to pyoduc PHB/HV copolymer when cultivated on alkane, alkanoate, alcohol as carbon sources. The contents of PHA and she proportions of hydroxyvalerate monomer units varied depending on the carbon sources. Especially Pseudomonas sp. HJ was able to incorporate hydroxyvalerate into PHB/HV to level as high as from 49 to 74 mol% when grown in a medium containing hexadecane and propionate. The purified PHA was identified PHB/HV copolymer by HNMR analysis.
Fresh hairy vetch (HV) as a green manure equivalent to $240kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ were incorporated into soil at corn planting in 1997 and 1998 to clarify the effects on changes of nitrogen (N) content in soil and corn plant. The influences of HV for the N of soil and plant were compared with those of ammonium nitrate (AN) in terms of mineralization and microbial biomass. During early decomposition of HV residue, the content of $NO_3-N$ in HV plot was as much as 60-70% of that in AN plot in surface soil of 0-15 cm depth. In addition, soil microbial biomass N (SMBN) by HV residue was increased up to $10-20mg\;kg^{-1}$ more than that by AN. Some mineral N from HV seemed to be released slowly until late corn growth stage judging from high content of $NO_3-N$ in both corn stem at silking stage and soil at harvest. There were no difference of N accumulations in corn plant at silking stage between HV and AN plots in both 1997 and 1998. At harvesting stage, a total of plant N accumulation in HV plot in 1997 was 8% less than that in AN plot while in 1998 it was 19% more. It was concluded that fresh HV green manure equivalent to $240kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ was good enough to substitute the same amount with chemical N fertilizer by slow releasing of mineral N from HV residue in soil.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of hallux valgus (HV) correction taping on the foot arch and balance of young adults with HV of the big toe. Methods: Forty-eight adults volunteered to participate in this study; of them, the 37 feet (11 men, 26 women) with ${\geq}15^{\circ}$ lateral bending of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe, on a goniometer, were selected as the target foot. Non-elastic correction tape was applied to the foot with HV, while the target foot was used to evaluate the changes, before versus after taping, in the lateral bending angle of the big toe, navicular drop level, Clarke angle, and static balance using a Gaitview system. Each measurement was performed three times, and the average of each set was used in the analysis. The patients'general characteristics were compared by using an independent t-test, and the measurement values were analyzed by using a paired t-test. Results: After taping, the lateral bending angle of the toe significantly decreased (p<.05), difference in navicular drop level significantly decreased (p<.05), the Clarke angle significantly increased (p<.05), and static balance significantly improved (p<.05). Conclusion: We showed that HV taping resulted in an immediately improved HV angle, arch, and single-leg standing balance on the foot with HV. However, further studies should investigate the correlation between HV and foot arch.
