동굴성 박쥐 7종의 온도선호도와 동면처 선택 (The Thermal Preference and the Selection of Hibernacula in Seven Cave-dwelling Bats)

  • 동굴을 잠자리로 이용하는 동굴성 박쥐의 동면생태에 관한 연구를 위하여 2005년부터 2011년까지 6회의 동면기간 동안 수행하였다. 조사기간 동안 박쥐가 출현된 140개의 동면장소에서 관박쥐, 문둥이박쥐, 검은집박쥐, 긴가락박쥐, 관코박쥐, 대륙쇠큰수염박쥐, 흰배윗수염박쥐, 붉은박쥐, 큰발윗수염박쥐, 물윗수염박쥐, 토끼박쥐등 총 13,288개체를 확인하였다. 동굴성 박쥐 7종의 온도선호도는 종 간 차이를 나타냈다. 동굴성 박쥐 7종 가운데 붉은박쥐의 평균 체온은 $13.64{\pm}0.76^{\circ}C$로 가장 높았고, 다음으로 관박쥐와 긴가락박쥐의 평균 체온은 $9.19{\pm}2.35^{\circ}C$$7.83{\pm}1.94^{\circ}C$였다. 반면 저온을 선택한 관코박쥐의 체온은 $2.64{\pm}0.98^{\circ}C$, 토끼박쥐는 $2.78{\pm}0.98^{\circ}C$, 검은집박쥐는 $2.76{\pm}1.68^{\circ}C$, 물윗수염박쥐는 $4.4{\pm}1.1^{\circ}C$로 다른 3종(붉은박쥐, 긴가락박쥐, 관박쥐)의 온도선호도와 차이를 나타냈다. 종 간 차이를 나타낸 7종의 체온은 대기온도($T_a$)에 비해 암벽온도($T_r$)와 밀접하게 상관되었다. 동굴성 박쥐 7종의 동면장소 별 출현된 박쥐의 종 수는 동면장소의 온도특성에 의해 차이를 나타냈다. 동면장소의 온도가 고온특성을 나타내고 대기온도 범위가 좁은 동면장소(HTR, 동면저의 최저온도가 $7^{\circ}C$ 이상)에 출현된 박쥐 종수는 $1.44{\pm}0.53$로 가장 낮았지만, 동면장소의 온도가 저온특성이고 대기온도 범위가 좁은 동면장소(LTR, 최고온도가 $7^{\circ}C$ 이하인 곳)에서 출현된 박쥐의 종수는 $2.77{\pm}1.72$였다. 동면장소의 온도가 저온과 고온특성을 모두 포함하는 대기온도 범위가 넓은 동면장소(WR)에서 $3.02{\pm}1.36$종으로 가장 높게 나타났다.

Jaw Opening Reflex 및 RT-PCR을 이용한 봉독의 진통효과 (The Analgesic Effects of Apitoxin and its Mechanism via JOR and Measuring Expression of mRNA in Phospholipase and TPH using RT-PCR)

  • The purpose of this study is to prove the analgesic effects of apitoxin and its mechanism via jaw-opening reflex(JOR) and measuring expression of mRNA in Phospholipase and Tryptophan hydroxylase(TPH) using RT-PCR. The experiments were carried out on Sprague-Dawley rats(300-400g) and mastocytoma(P-185 HTR) for JOR and RT-PCR, respectively. Rats anesthetized with thiopental sodium (80mg/kg) were used in the Tooth Pulp stimulation induced JOR. The amplitude of a digastric electromyogram (dEMG) was recorded during the stimulation at an intensity of 1.5 times the threshold for JOR. Apitoxin used in this experiment was diluted with normal saline by 1:1000. Apitoxin was injected intravenously into the test group while normal saline to the control group. However, it was injected directly into the cell of mastocytoma. We referred to base sequence registered in Genbank in designing primers for RT-PCR. The results were as follows; (1)Compared with control group, analgesic effect started to show right after Sprague-Dawely rats were treated with apitoxin($71.50{\pm}8.08$) and lasted for 50 minutes. (2)As a result of the experiment of RT-PCR, we witnessed significant changes in the degree of expression of phospholipase or rate-limiting enzyme of biosynthesis of prostaglandins with $10{\mu}g/ml$ apitoxin.($31.74{\pm}18.98%$, P<0.05) (3)As a result of the experiment of RT-PCR, we witnessed significant changes in the degree of expression of TPH or rate-limiting enzyme in biosynthesis of serotonin with $10{\mu}g/ml$ apitoxin.($131.37{\pm}16.87%$, P<0.05). These results suggest that $10{\mu}g/ml$ apitoxin have the most analgesic effects. This study showed that apitoxin has analgesic effects and held good for 50 minutes. The injection of apitoxin has brought out changes in the degree of expression of phospholipase and TPH. These results strongly suggest that analgesic mechanism by apitoxin is closely related to prostaglandins and serotonin.

뽕잎 분말 첨가 두부가 충남 일부지역 저칼슘 섭취 여대생의 손목 골밀도, 생화학적 골대사지표 및 지질성상에 미친 영향 (Effects of Mulberry-Leaf Powder Tofu on Carpus Mineral Density, Biochemical Markers of Bone Turnover and Lipid Profiles in Female University Students from Choongnam Consuming Low Calcium Diet)

  • This study examined the effects of mulberry-leaf powder Tofu(MPT) on the anthropometric measurements, bone mineral density(BMD), biochemical markers of bone turnover, serum lipid levels of and macrominerals status in 30 female university students living in Choongnam with low dietary Ca intake was low(mean daily $intake=524.66{\pm}21.47$ mg/day). The subjects received the MPT supplemented(100 g/day) for 4 weeks. The nutrient content per 100 g MPT was 84.10 kcal(energy), 8.98 g(protein), 0.53 mg(fiber), 211.33 mg(Ca) and 1.59 g(fat). Anthropometric measurements, 24-hour dietary recall, carpus BMD using DEXA, select BMD biomarckers(serum alkaline phophatase activity, osteocalcin, urinary deoxypyridinoline), serum protein levels, albumin, and glucose levels, lipid profiles(cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol) and serum macrominerals(Ca, Ca/P ratio, Mg) were analyzed before and after MPT supplementation. Following MPT supplementation, there was no significant differences in anthropometric measurements, nutrient intakes, carpus BMD, serum alkaline phosphatase activity, osteocalcin, and urinary deoxypyridinoline, serum levels of protein, albumin, and glucose or lipid profiles with AI, HTR, LHR and CRF. However, there were significant increases in dietary calcium as well as decreases in serum triglycerides with MPT supplementation. Although further research is needed, these results that regular intake MPT could prevent bone and cardiovascular diseases.

Chromium Methionine첨가가 비만지수 및 지질 대사에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Chromium Methionine Supplementation on Obesity Index and Serum Lipids in Rats)

  • 본 연구에서 식이중 CrMet 보충이 비만지수 및 지질 대사에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사한 결과 실험군의 초기 체중은 비슷한 수준이었지만 CrMet 보충으로 최종 체중이 감소하는 경향을 보였고 이로 인해 CrMet 첨가시 비만지수 및 체지방 함량이 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 혈청 total cholesterol은 CrMet 첨가시 69.22 $\pm$3.44 mg/㎗ 로 고지방군과 비교해 낮았으며(p<0.05), HDL cholesterol은 CrMet 보충으로 증가되었으며 HTR 지수도 높았다(p<0.05). 결과적으로 CrMet 보충은 체지방량과 혈청중 total cholesterol을 감소시키고 HDL cholesterol을 증가시킨다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
