  • The purpose of this study is to apply fundamental data of impression formation research by analysing and observing the various facial image that can be effected from hair style as well as be helpful for choosing suitable hair style for T.P.O in modern society. This study targeted 305 college women in Daegu and Gyung-book area. Hair Style Image Scale(HSIS)was used the scale of seven point modified the S-D(Semantic Differential) method. The analysis of impression formation effect of hair style using SPSS WIN package have completed from the principal component analysis by Varimax perpendicular rotation method and ANOVA was used to recognize the difference in impression formation according to hair style change. In the case of statistical difference was appeared, LSD post-verification was applied for that. The conclusions of this study is as followed ; 1. The factors of impression formation effected by hair style were classified as goodwill factor, refinement factor, elegance factor and individuality factor. 2. In terms of goodwill factor, long hair style showed highest level and short cut hair, bobbed hair in an order. In refinement factor, there was no difference between short cut hair and bobbed hair and both of them was higher than long hair. In elegance factor, long hair was highest and bobbed hair was lowest. In individuality factor, short cut hair and bobbed hair higher than long hair and no difference between short cut hair and bobbed hair.

  • In this paper, the arc and flame characteristics of wires were studied during a short-circuit. The short-circuit angle between wires was fixed as $90^{\circ}$ and the experiments were conducted on bare copper wires by varying the diameter of wires. The arc and flame patterns were taken by a high speed imaging system. The direction of arc and flame was explained with Lorentz force. After the short-circuit experiment, the shapes of molten wires were analyzed by a stereo microscope. In the results of experiment, the arc and flame of wires showed particular patterns. The flame characteristics by the diameter of wires were analyzed using a HSIS. We could find out the arc characteristics of wires which were different by the diameter.

  • The conservation of stream habitats has been gaining more public attention and fish habitat suitability index (HSI) is an important measure for ecological stream habitat assessment. The fish habitat preference is affected not only by physical stream conditions but also by water quality of which HSI was not available due to the lack of field data. The purpose of this study is to estimate the HSI of Zacco platypus for water quality parameters of water temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) using the water environment monitoring data provided by the Ministry of Environment (ME). Fish population data merged with water quality were constructed by spatio-temporal matching of nationwide water quality monitoring data with bio-monitoring data of the ME. Two types of the HSI were calculated by the Instream Flow and Aquatic Systems Group (IFASG) method and probability distribution (Weibull) fitting for the four major river basins. Both the HSIs by the IFASG and Weibull fitting appeared to represent the overall distribution and magnitude of fish population and this can be used in stream fish habitat evaluation considering water quality.

  • In recent years, popularity of deep learning (DL) is increased due to its ability to extract features from Hyperspectral images. A lack of discrimination power in the features produced by traditional machine learning algorithms has resulted in poor classification results. It's also a study topic to find out how to get excellent classification results with limited samples without getting overfitting issues in hyperspectral images (HSIs). These issues can be addressed by utilising a new learning network structure developed in this study.EfficientNet-B4-Based Convolutional network (EN-B4), which is why it is critical to maintain a constant ratio between the dimensions of network resolution, width, and depth in order to achieve a balance. The weight of the proposed model is optimized by Search and Rescue Operations (SRO), which is inspired by the explorations carried out by humans during search and rescue processes. Tests were conducted on two datasets to verify the efficacy of EN-B4, with Indian Pines (IP) and the University of Pavia (UP) dataset. Experiments show that EN-B4 outperforms other state-of-the-art approaches in terms of classification accuracy.

  • In this study, the arc dispersion properties were analyzed according to switching of high sensitive type Residual Current Protective Device(RCD) contacts. Arc dispersion and ignition process was taken by high speed imaging system(HSIS). In this experiment, electric lamps(60 W) and heaters(950 W) were connected in parallel as loads. In case of normal RCD, it took about 2.3(ms) from the generation of arc to the extinction of uc. When arc was dispersed in normal RCD, it did not ignite cotton. Whereas, in case of RCD deteriorated by NaCl solution, the range of arc dispersion was wider and the arc lasted for 3.3[ms] more compared to normal RCD. And the arc ignited cotton. In order to prevent accidents caused by RCD, we should be careful of environmental factors, such as dust and humidity, and the parts of RCD should be used as incombustible materials.

  • Fishways are constructed to provide longitudinal connectivity of streams or rivers where their flow has been altered by in-stream structures such as dams or weirs. Nature-like fishways have an additional function of providing fish habitats. In the study, we estimated the role of a nature-like fishway (length: 700 m, slope: 1/100) for fish habitat by using two dominant species in the Sangju Weir, Nakdong River, to calculate the optimal ecological flow rate using Physical HABitat SIMulation (PHABSIM). To identify the dominant species that used the fishway, we conducted trap monitoring from August to November 2012 at the fishway exit. The dominant species were Zacco platypus and Opsariichthys uncirostric amurensis with a relative abundance of 62.1% and 35.9%, respectively. Optimal habitat suitability indices (HSIs) for Z. platypus and O. u. amurensis were calculated as 0.6-0.8 m/s (water velocity) and 0.2-0.4 m (water depth), and 0.5-0.7 m/s (water velocity) and 0.1-0.3 m (water depth), respectively. The optimal ecological flow rates (OEFs) for Z. platypus and O. u. amurensis were 1.6 and 1.7 cubic meter per second (CMS), respectively. The results of the study can be used in a management plan to increase the habitat function of nature-like fishways in the Sangju Weir. This methodology can be utilized as an appropriate tool that can determine the habitat function of all nature-like fishways.

  • This study proposes a novel performance measure, which is referred to as Hazardous Spacing Index (HSI), to be used for evaluating safety of traffic stream on freeways. The basic principle of the proposed methodology is to investigate whether drivers would have sufficient stopping sight distance (SSD) under limited visibility conditions to eliminate rear-end crash potentials at every time step. Both Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) and Vehicle Detection Systems (VDS) data were used to derive visibility distance (VD) and SSD, respectively. Moreover, the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) method was adopted to predict both VD and SSD in estimating predictive HSIs, which would be used to trigger advanced warning information to encourage safer driving. The outcome of this study is also expected to be used for monitoring freeway traffic stream in terms of safety.
