On-going convergence between broadcasting and communication is currently bringing in lots of drastic changes to multimedia services to the home. The FTTH-based home networks will be the interface among the digital home appliances for broadcast digital contents as weil as for broadband data connection. In this paper, we discuss several design issues for home gateway architecture that effectively distributes realtime broadcasting contents (from either the headend in the access network or the satellite/terrestrial broadcasts) to heterogeneous devices in the home network.

In this paper, we propose a design and implementation of Home Network Middleware which offer integrated service of electronic products. Most senior nations setting to core paradigm to ubiquitous computing techniques and effort to get the novel information and making more power about information techniques. But, they don't have a skill to Home Network Middleware in electronic products. It is a more important in Home Network Middleware. So, we will try to study about Home Network Middleware skill. And suggest to proposition that is a novel Home Network Middleware.

The purposed of this study was to reconceptualize home economics by focusing the concept of 'Family life welfare' which pursue the improvement of family life through making the home resourceful and developing the community. The reconceptualization of home economics as family life welfare could solve the problem identification and professionalization which home economics lack of. This paper presents an application model for home automation control. In this work, we propose home application scenarios that are suitable for the home life style and design a control structure integrating various home automation functions, such as lightning, heating, cooling, security, fire protection, telemetering, entertainment and communication. State-of-the-art wired/wireless home networks such as Bluetooth, LonWorks, IEEE1394 and PLC(Power Line Communication) are included in the control structure.

The purpose of this study is to find out influential variables related to Home Management Ability of urban home makers. This study focuses on the following aspects; 1) to find out which variables of sociodemographic variables (ie. home maker's age, level of education-husband, wife, job-husband, wife, income, duration of marriage), of psychological variables (ie. degree of resourcefulness recognition, degree of stress recognition, degree of life level recognition) have significant effects on home management ability. 2) to find out which variables of sociodemographic variables have significant effects on degree of resourcefulness recognition, of stress recognition, and of life level recognition. 3) to identify the influence of significant variables related to home management ability. Data was analyzed by frequency. percentage, mean , F-test, t-test, Duncan's multiple range test. regression analysis , path analysis pearson's r. x2-test. Major findings are as follows; 1) The level of education (husband , wife)and occupation of husband were variables to have influences on home management ability. 2) a. The level of education (husband, wife) and income were variable to have influences on degree of resourcefulness recognition. b. The employment of home makers. income, and the form of family were variables to have influences on degree of stress recognition. c. The level of education (husband, wife) occupation of husband , income , and duration of marriage were variables to have influences on degree of life level recognition. 3) There were significant relationships between home management ability and degree of resourcefulness recognition and of stress recognition (r=0.13, r=-0.12, p<.05). a. The higher degree of resourcefulness recognition, the higher home management ability (x2=11.17. df=4. p<.05) b. The higher degree of stress recognition, the lower home n=management ability (x2=14.64. df=4. p<.01) 4) The education level of homemakers (β =0.15) and income (β=0.12) were variables to have indirect influences on home management ability through the medium of the degree of resourcefulness recognition (β =0.13) 5) The employment of home makers (β=-0.17) was a variable to have indirect influence on home management ability through the medium of the degree of stress recognition(β=-0.12) 6) the education level of husband (β=0.16) and income (β=0.32) were variables to have direct influence on degree of life level recognition. 7) The degree of life level recognition (β=0.13) and education level of home makers (β=0.17) were variables to have indirect influences on home management ability through the medium of the degree of resourcefulness recognition (β=0.13) 8)The degree of life level recognition (β=-0.22) the employment of home makers(β=-0.17) and the from of family(β=-0.10) were variables to have indirect influences on home management ability through the medium of the degree of stress recognition.

The purpose of this study was to investigate high school students' needs for home economics elective courses in line with the introduction of the high school credit system and the development of the next home economics curriculum. To this end, 1,689 high school students across the country were analyzed for needs of home economics elective courses (eighteen elective courses and six sub-disciplines of home economics) and differences in the needs of home economics elective courses based on gender, grade levels, and completion of home economics science subject. The research results were as follows. Among the six sub-disciplines, the preference for 'dietary life' was the highest, and in terms of teaching types, experiment and practice class had significantly higher preference in 'dietary life' than other sub-disciplines. Girls showed higher preferences for home economics elective courses than boys, and the third graders showed significantly higher preferences only for the 'dietary life' sub-discipline than the first graders. High school students who are learning or have learned the home economics science subject showed higher preference for home economics elective courses in all the sub-disciplines than those who have not learned it. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested for the national curriculum development that further researches should be actively carried out to develop home economics career elective subjects.

The extensive coverage and high speed of communication network, which is a basic structure of the information society, enables the provision of various forms of informatiov. especially, such services as cyber medicine, cyber education, home office, home banking, and home shopping will be common; and, now, no one can deny that the information society starts to be part of our life. Regarding home office, John Navigate predicted home office through the electronic house in New Mecca Trend and Alvin Toffler asserted in The third Wave that people could do their work anywhere including living room in their hoses with the development of communication technology and other related appliances. Such predictions are realized with the development of information communicatiov. Therefore, housing space should be changed according to the realization of home office and the direction of housing plan need to be set for home office.

Recently the idea of a home automation has been an important issue in many publications and home appliances companies. Home automation is a house or living environment that contains the technology to allow devices and systems to be controlled automatically. Remote and local control are useful to keep home comfortable and to support the elderly and the disabled people. In this paper, we discuss possible developments of Bluetooth wireless technologies and describe the hardware for devices and software for the considerations of a home automation system. Finally, we have validated the testbed by simulating in the Bluetooth home network.

This paper proposes a home control system architecture that have network configuration function. The proposed home control system architecture is implemented with partly hardware and software. For implementation of this system architecture, we developed ECONICS which is home automation controller. ECONICS consists of main board and communication modem. This communication modem supply the power line communication. The physical layer and the MAC layer software of EIA 709.1 standard protocol are implemented in communication modem. The upper layer software of EIA 709.1 standard protocol and home configuration software for home network installation, management, diagnostics, control and monitoring are implemented in main board of ECONICS. We verified the commercial feasibility of the proposed system through the home network configuration and operation. As a result, we have concluded that the proposed home control system architecture provides all the key function necessary to easily manage and control home network nodes.
