It is undeniably important to bring up a solution capability of arithmetic word problems in the elementary mathematical education. The goal of this study is to acquire the implication for remedial instruction on arithmetic word problems solving through surveying elementary school students' difficulties in the solving of arithmetic word problems. In order to do it, this study was intended to analyze the following two aspects. First, it was analyzed that they generally felt more difficulties in which field among addition, subtraction, multiplication and division word problems. Second, with the result of the first analysis, it was examined that they solved it by imagining as which sphere of the other word problems. Also, the cause of their error on the word problem solving was analyzed by the interview. From the foregoing analyses, the following implications for remedial instruction on arithmetic word problems solving are acquired. First, the accumulation of learning deficiency must be diminished through the remedial instruction. Second, it must help students to understand the given problem and to make of what the goal of problem is. Third, it must help students to form a good habit for reading the problem and to understand the context of problem. forth, the teacher must help students to review and reflect their problem-solving processes.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of music therapy (Jang-Gu) on depression, stress, pain and body discomfort in women with osteoarthritis. Citizen participation or resident participation is perceived as an effective way to correspond to the diverse urban problems, especially in the area of residential environment improvement projects and community activities. As the leading city of the Honam region and a core middle city leading the development of the southwestern region, Gwangju city is planning and under-developing new Housing Complexes and Urban Renewal Projects. The purpose of this study is to identify the perception of Gwangju citizens on resident participation in community activities to suggest diverse strategies for improving quality of citizen's life and making better living environment. For the research purpose, 1,380 questionnaires were distributed to the Gwangju citizens who live in 5 autonomous districts -Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu- and 601 were used in data analysis. Although citizens in Dong-gu showed the lowest settlement consciousness, they required the highest level of need for resident self-help activities. Contrastingly, Seo-gu showed the highest level of settlement consciousness and the lowest need for resident self-help activities. Based on the results, high quality community facility should be provided to promote residential satisfaction and consciousness of residential participation and self-help activity must be improved. And also, diverse strategies for resident participation including development of resident education programs and search for regional resources should be covered in further research.
The concept known as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) is to provide power to help balance loads by charging at night when demand is low and sending power to the grid when demand is high. Therefore, it is important to model the cost-benefit characteristics of Electric vehicle(EV)'s operation considering the negawatt market in real time. This paper proposes a methodology to formulate the various costs and economic benefits for sending the EV's power back to the grid, including a concept of inconvenience costs caused by operating the EV as a battery. This paper also introduces the general decision-making process based on the cost-benefit analysis in order to simulate the reasonable participation of V2G service. In the case study, it is confirmed by two-case simulations that the proposed approach is useful to help EV owners' decision-making. In the future, it is expected that the proposed methodology can be used as a decision-making guideline to help prepare the EV' power transmission.

Many mobile sensing frameworks have been developed to help researcher doing their mobile sensing research. However, energy consumption is still an issue in the mobile sensing research, and the existing frameworks do not provide enough solution for solving the issue. We have surveyed several mobile sensing frameworks and carefully chose one framework to improve. We have designed an adaptive sampling module for a mobile sensing framework to help solve the energy consumption issue. However, in this study, we limit our design to an adaptive sampling module for the location and motion sensors. In our adaptive sampling module, we utilize the significant motion sensor to help the adaptive sampling. We experimented with two sampling strategies that utilized the significant motion sensor to achieve low-power consumption during the continuous sampling. The first strategy is to utilize the sensor naively only while the second one is to add the duty cycle to the naive approach. We show that both strategies achieve low energy consumption, but the one that is combined with the duty cycle achieves better result.
Personal ornaments designing has a great influence on present-day life and culture and allied industries, but the current collges fail to provide its productive and creative programs because it is considered as just a part of metal crafts. Most colleges present programs only for producing items of pure fine art crafts, and therefore fail to present the programs that help the student to understand the related industries and their management. This study seeks to point to the problems of current personal omaments designing education in order to help to find its remedies, and tries to present long-term and short- term plans for them. I belive when the colleges develop their own suitable programs based on these plans, they will strengthen their ability to survive in this privailing open-door compryiyive world, widen their opportunities to contribute to related industries, and help the students to play better roles in the society.
Privacy-protective behavior can be classified into passive behavior and active behavior. Passive behavior includes refusal, misrepresentation, and removal, while word-of-mouth, complaint, and seeking for help belong to active behavior. Internet users in different countries may take different types of privacy-protective behavior because of cultural and social differences. This study analyzes the differences in Internet users' privacy-protective behavior between Korea and China. Korean Internet users take refusal, complaint, and seeking to protect their privacy information, while misrepresentation is not an option for Korean Internet users. Chinese Internet users take refusal, complaint, seeking, and misrepresentation to protect their privacy information. In Korea, passive behavior (refusal) is chosen more often than active behavior (complaint and seeking for help), while in China active behavior(complaint and seeking for help) is preferred to passive behavior (refusal and misrepresentation). The differences of privacy-protective behavior in the two countries may provide some implications for online companies, if they want to avoid the business risk due to privacy concerns and to take appropriate steps to deal with privacy-protective behavior by Internet users.
The characteristics of groundwater movement under the heavy rainfall at Nan-ji waste landfill site are studied using HELP(Hydraulic Evaluation of Landfill Performance) program, which calculates the daily leachate in the Nan-ji waste landfill site. In this study, instead of the average recharge value, which is used in the past study, the real reacharge value is used to calculate the daily leachater. It is found about 70 times greater than thor average recharge value under the condition of heavy rainfall in the rainy season. The flow characteristics of groundwater for water level fluctuation is simulated using the ground water flow model MODFLOW(A Modular 3-D Finite Different Groundwater Flow Model) program, and the slurry layer is newly added. The result of the study is different from that of the ordinary simulation, which shows much higher ground water level than from the ordinary simulation.
With an increasing number of at-risk adolescents, the environmental and personal risk factors that have been building up inside them as a result of not feeling protected at school or at home are manifested externally as anxiety, depression, rage, complexes, lethargy, violence, and alienation. This study intends to help at-risk adolescents to discover what they are good at, nurture their dreams, and help them to develop themselves through various culture and arts experience programs so that they can have better self-esteem through the wholesome understanding of themselves. The objective of this study, in paticular, is to help young girls who are interested in the physical appearance to develop higher self-esteem through self-management and creative programs for related to fashion, beauty, culture, and the arts. A questionnaire survey on the appearance management behavior, the recognition of image, and the request for participation in a fashion styling program. It was prepared based on the appearance management behaviors during the adolescence, body image, and lifestyle analyzed with past studies. The characteristics of appearance management during adolescence were examined. An the appearance management program was developed that centered on yhe major variables, and a fashion and appearance management activity program was developed that centered on the appearance management techniques preferred by young girls based on the result of analysis.
Purpose - A framework is suggested in this paper which will help crowdfunding platforms to match projects according to expectations of funders, leading to successful campaigns and thus increase the profitability of the crowdfunding platform. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper is theoretical and conceptual in nature which proposes a model for crowdfunding platforms to match expectations of crowds with project fundraisers. Results - Crowdfunding platforms are going through incremental innovations in order to match customer (funders and fundraisers) expectations. Leading crowdfunding platforms like Kickstart holds benchmark for other players in the market but the secret of success lies in matching quality projects with the appropriate funders. Crowdfunding platforms have to securitize the projects and allow only quality projects but also provide a wide range of options for funders. Thus, to manage this trade-off between quality and quantity of options, a framework is proposed. Conclusions - Crowdfunding platforms have to adopt a model which will help them in providing a perfect match between crowds and fundraisers. Each member of the crowd and every project will be assigned a category and rating based on the past records. Securitization of projects will help to entertain only demanded projects which will reduce the number of failing campaigns.
