여대생의 체중감량이 영양상태에 미치는 영향 - 제2보. 혈액성분 및 신체 계측치를 중심으로 (A Study on Nutrition Status by Diet of Female College Students of Masan City - 2. Focus on Blood Componsents and Anthropometric Data -)

  • 1. 조사 대상자들의 평균 키와 체중은 각각 161.00$\pm$4.15cm, 50.45$\pm$8.15kg이었으며 BMI는 19.81$\pm$3.98, 체지방율은 26.12$\pm$4.12, skinfold thickness는 40.40$\pm$12.56mm로 나타났다. 2. 조사 대상자들의 혈액성상은 적혈구 수, 헤모글로빈, 헤마토크리트치, albumin, globulin, 총 콜레스테롤, LDL-콜레스테롤, HDL-콜레스테롤, 총 중성지방을 측정하였으며 헤마토크리트치를 제외한 나머지 성상들은 모두 정상 범위에 속하였다. 헤마토크리트치는 정상범주에 미달되는 것으로 나타나 이로 말미암아 철분 결핍성 빈형에 노출될 확률이 아주 많음을 보였다. 3. 용돈별로 체지방율을 분류하여 분석한 결과 한달 용돈이 평균 20~30만원을 쓰는 group의 체지방율이 22.00%로서 정상 수준 이었으며, 30만원 이상 사용하는 group은 비만으로 나타났다.(p<0.05) 한편, 그 외의 group들은 체내 체지방율 수준도 정상 수준인 20~25%를 넘어 체중으로 나타났다. 또한 30만원 이상 사용하는 group은 다른 group보다 RBC(million/㎣), Hb(g/이), Hct(%) 모두가 낮게 나타났으며, 빈혈로 판정될 수 있는 수준이었다. 4. 다이어트 빈도별 각 요인들간의 상관관계를 살펴보면 다이어트 시도를 자주 한다고 답변한 group이 거의 실시하지 않는다., 실시해 본 적이 없다라고 대답한 group보다 체중과 BMI가 유의적으로 낮았다.(p<0.05) 그러나 skinfold thickness(mm)와 체지방율은 유의차가 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 비록 다이어트 실시를 자주할 경우 절대적인 체중감량은 감소되지만 체내 지방량이 감소되는 것은 아니라고 판단된다. 5. 다이어트 실시기간에 따라 혈액 성상을 분석한 결과, 4개월 미만 다이어트를 실시하였으나, 1개월 전부터 현재(설문지에 응답한 시점)까지 기간 중에는 다이어트를 실시한 적이 없다고 대답한 group의 Alb(g/dl)과 Glo(g/dl)의 수치가 다이어트를 실시한 적이 없다고 대답한 group에 비해 유의적으로 높게 나타났다.(p<0.05) 6. 체중은 BMI와 양의 상관관계를 나타내었으며, BMI는 견갑골과도 높은 양의 상관관계를 가졌다. 상완부는 견갑골, skinfold thickness(mm), 체지방율과 높은 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, 반면 Hb(g/dl), Hct(%)와는 음의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 견갑골은 BMI 뿐 아니라 skinfold thickness(mm), 체지방율과 양의 상관관계를 나타내었으며, skinfold thickness(mm)는 체지방율과 유의적인 양의 상관관계가 있음이 나타났다. 7. RBC(million/㎣)는 Hb(g/dl) 및 Hct(%)와 유의적인 양의 상관관계를 나타내었으며, Hb(g/dl)도 Hct(%)와 유의적인 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. Alb(g/dl)은 Glo(g/dl) 및 TCH(mg/dl), HDL(mg/dl)과도 양의 상관관계를 가졌다. Glo(g/dl)은 TCH(mg/dl)과 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, TCH(mg/dl)은 Alb(g/dl), Glo(g/dl)이에도 TTG(mg/dl), LDL-cho(mg/dl) HDL-cho과도 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. TTG(mg/dl)은 LDL-cho(mg/dl)과는 양의 상관관계를 HDL-cho(mg/dl)과는 음의 상관관계를 나타내었다.

감태나무(Lindera glauca Blume) 에탄올 추출물의 항산화 및 인체 대장암세포 증식 억제 효과에 대한 연구 (Antioxidative and Antiproliferative Effects of Lindera glauca Blume on Human Colorectal Cancer Cells)

  • 본 연구에서는 감태나무 추출물의 항산화 활성을 측정하기 위하여 총 폴리페놀 함량, DPPH 라디칼 소거능, 아질산염 소거능, 환원력 방법을 사용하였으며 HT-29와 HCT116 암세포를 이용하여 세포 증식 억제 효과를 측정하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 사용된 식물 중 감태나무 뿌리와 감태나무 줄기가 가장 높은 총 폴리페놀 함량을 보였으며 또한 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, 아질산염 소거 활성, 환원력도 가장 높게 나타났다. 암세포 증식 억제 효능평가에서도 감태나무 줄기와 뿌리는 대장암세포 HT-29, HCT116 세포주의 증식 억제에 대한 높은 활성을 나타냈다. 이러한 연구 결과는 감태나무의 기능성 소재로써의 기초적 데이터베이스로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 생각되며, 앞으로 더욱 더 감태나무의 질병에 대한 효능 및 기전연구가 지속되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

보정방독탕 에탄올 추출물의 안전성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Safety of Bojungbangdocktang Ethanol Extract)

  • Bojungbangdocktang (BJBDT), a formula of eight Oriental herbs, is a modified herbal prescription of Bangdoktang and Bojungbangamtang. Recently, BJBDT was demonstrated to inhibit angiogenesis induced by vascular endothelial growth factor in human umbilical vein endothelial cells, enhance hematopoiesis and protect cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity in normal MCF-10A breast cells. Nevertheless, there is no safety study of BJBDT before clinical trial so far. Thus, in the current study, we investigated the toxicity about ethanol-extracted BJBDT. Male and female Spraque Dawley (SD) rats were given orally by BJBDT at 250, 500, and 1000 mg/kg for 4 weeks. Mortality, clinical signs and measured change of body weight, food consumption and water consumption were observed. In addition, we performed ophthalmologic, urinary, hematological, blood serum biochemical and histopathological examination. Any general toxicity was not found in BJBDT treated group. Also, there were no significant differences in the parameters such as body weight, food consumption and water consumption, a lot of urine and blood factor levels except HCT, MCHC, Ca, TG, Glucose and T-Bilirubin level compared with control group. Although HCT was elevated and TG was decreased in male rats, and MCHC, Glucose and T-Bilirubin were elevated and Ca and HCT were decreased in female rats, these were within normal ranges. Finally, we determined that maximum tolerated dose (MTD) was 1000 mg/kg and no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) was 500 mg/kg. Taken together, these results demonstrated that BJBDT is very safe to SD rats.

강릉대 일부 여대생의 철분영양상태에 관한 연구 (Iron Nutritional Status of Female Students in Kangnung National University)

  • To evaluate iron nutritional status of female college students, fasting blood samples were taken from 76 female students of Kangnung National University. Hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(Hct), serum iron(Fe), total iron binding capacity(TIBC) and serum ferritin concentrations were measured and transferrin saturation was calculated. Mean values for Hb, Hct, Fe, TIBC, TS and serum freeitin were 13.64$\pm$1.42g/dl, 40.99$\pm$4.31%, 103.0$\pm$33.3$\mu\textrm{g}$/이, 395.3$\pm$9.07$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl, 26.58$\pm$9.07$\%$and 26.76$\pm$17.5ng/ml, respectively. Prevalence of iron deficiency greatly varied by indices from 6.8% when judged by Hct to 26.0$\%$ by serum ferritin concentration. The Hb concentration was positively correlated with hematocrit (r=0.5402), serum iron(r=0.2819) and transferrin saturation(r=0.2777)(p<0.05). on the other hand, serum ferritin concentration showed significantly negative correlation with TIBC(r=-0.3196). Two-day dietary intake records were collected from subjects to estimate mean daily iron intake and bioavailability of dietary iron. Mean daily intake of iron was 13.15mg and heme iron intake was 0.83mg which was 6.4% of total iron intake. Total absorbable iron calculated by the method of Monsen was 1.27mg and bioavailability of dietary iron was 9.6%. In the light of high prevalence of iron deficiency based of serum ferritin concentration and low bioavailability of iron in the diet, guidelines about diet should be made to increase the content and bioavailability of iron in the diet if female college students.

표고버섯 균사체 배양 및 그 추출물의 생리학적 특성

  • 한국산 표고버섯 균사체를 액체배양하여 천연항암물질로 알려진 단백다당체를 추출한 후 그 물질의 특성에 대하여 검토하였다. 균사체의 최적 재양조건을 TGY배지로 조사한 바 온도 $25^{\circ}C$, 배양초기 pH4.0, 교반속도 300rpm, 균사배지 접종량을 10.0%로 하고 산소 통기량을 1.0volume of ait/volume of medium/mimute으로 하였을때 가장 양호한 조건이였으며, 대량생산 하기 위한 SCM배지에서 최적의 C/N비는 13.1오써 7일간 배양하였을때 18.8g/L의 균사령을 얻었으며, 이때 생산수율은 0.46으로 나타났다. 발효가 끝난 배양액에서 균사, 여액 그리고 배양액의 전체에서 단백다당체를 분리한 결과 각 분획에서 단백다당체가 각각 0.55%, 0.12%, 0.69%가 회수되어 배양액 전체에서 단백다당체를 추출하는 것이 바람직하며, 추출방법으로 열수추출, glass bead추출 및 cellulasa처리를 하여 단백다당체의 수율을 비교한 결과 0.25-0.5mm glass nead로 30분간 균사체를 분쇄한 다음 열수추출을 1시간을 하였을때 990mg/100ml의 단백다당체를 얻을 수 있었다. 고단백다당체를 1차 단백질 가수분해 효소로 분해하고, EDAE cellulose 및 Sepadex G-100 column chromatography로 정제한 후, TLC/FLD, ultracentrifugation한 결과 순수한 물질임을 알 수 있었다. 단백다당체의 항암효과 조사중 in vitro배양에서 $P_{388}$$L_{1210}$에 대한 단백다당체의 활성단위 1 unit는 1mg정도였으며, 인체의 장암세포인 HCT-48, HRT-18, HT-29 밀 간암세포인 Hep G2 대한 생육저해 단위는 각각 4.4, 3.6, 6.6, 2.6mg이었다. HCT-48과 Hep G2 세포의 크기 분포도는 대조군에 비하여 시간이 경과함에 따라, 그리고 단백다당체의 농도가 증가함에 따라 peak가 작은 size 쪽으로 이동하였다. 또, 단백다당체를 첨가 배양한 HCT-48과 Hep G2세포의 현미경 관찰에서 본래의 암세포 형태가 변형되고 크기가 감소하며 세포사이의 경계막이 흐트러지면서 세포수가 감소하고 사멸하였다. In vivo실험에서는 대조군보다 단백다당체를 첨가한 군에서 항체 형성능력이 대조군에 비하여 형질세포가 2배로 증가하였다. 단백다당체의 화학적 성분 분석에서 다당함량은 46.1%이면 구성다당류는 glucose, galactose, mannose, xylose로 구성되었고 단백질의 함량은 7.28%이며, 구성아미노산은 15종의 아미노산으로 되었다. 또 무기물은 Na, K, Zn, Ca등의 순으로 이루어 짐을 알 수 있었다.

경기지역, 일부 여대생의 신체계측치와 건강 및 영양섭취상태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Anthropometric Measurement, Health Condition and Nutritional Status of Female College Students in Kyunggido Area)

  • This study was conducted to assess anthropemrtric, health status, nutritional status, and their correlations in 120 female college students in Kyunggido area. The questionnaires on general living habits, food habits and energy expenditure were used, and nutrient intakes were estimated by Convenience Method. Anthropometric measurement, blood pressure, hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(Hct) were also determined. The mean values for BMI, RBW, and blood pressure of the subjects were 20.4$\pm$2.4, 92.9$\pm$16.0% and 108.9/69.6mmHg, respectively. Estimation of body fat from two sites of skinfolds thickness(20.6$\pm$6.0%) and four sites of skinfolds thickness(20.1 $\pm$8.6%) was similar, but different from BIA method(23.9$\pm$3.9%). The subjects of 36.9% considered themselves healthy, and 15.4% of them considered themselves not healthy. The mean values for Hb and Hct were 13.4$\pm$ 1.6g/dl, and 41.5$\pm$0.4%, respectively. The prevalence rates of iron deficiency assessed by Hb and Hct were found to be 19.8% and 6.3%, accordingly. The mean energy intake of subjects was 1,841 kcal. The proportion of energy derived from carbohydrates, protein and fat was 64.9%, 14.7%, and 20.4%, respectively As nutrient intake was compared to RDA for Koreans, intakes of energy, calcium, iron, and vitamin A fell short of recommendations. Intakes of energy, fat, iron, vitamin B$_2$, and niacin were positively correlated with total energy expenditure. These results suggest that appropriate reference data are important to maintain the health of female college students.

Benzotriazepin 유도체의 암세포에 대한 다약제내성 억제효과 (Reversal of Multidrug Resistance by Benzotriazepin Analogues in Cancer Cells)

  • The occurrence of resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs is a major problem for successful cancer treatment. This resistant phenotype of cancer cell frequently reveals a broad spectrum to structurally and/or functionally unrelated anticancer drugs, termed multidrug resistance (MDR). Overexpression of P-glycoprotein (P-gp), a transmembrane drug efflux pump, is a major mechanism of MDR. Accordingly, considerable effort has been directed towards to development of compounds that inhibit P-gp, reverse the MDR phenotype and sensitize cancer cells to conventional chemotherapy without undesired toxicological effects. In an effort to search for novel MDR reversal agent, we tested the cytotoxicity of paclitaxel, a well-known substrate of P-gp, against P-gp-expressing HCT15 and HCT15/CL02 human colorectal cancer cells in the presence or absence of benzotriazepin analogues, as well as against P-gp-negative A549 human non-small cell lung and SK-OV-3 human ovarian cancer cells in vitro. Among the compounds tested, the agents that have phenyl amide moiety at 3 position remarkably increased the cytotoxicity of paclitaxel against P-gp-expressing cancer cells, but not against P-gp-negative cancer cells. BTZ-15 and BTZ-16 at $4\;{\mu}M$ revealed similar MDR reversal activity to $10\;{\mu}M$ verapamil, a well-known MDR reversal agent.

Effect of Vitamin C Supplementation on Iron Status of Adolescent Girls with Low Hemoglobin Levels

  • This study investigated the effects of vitamin C supplementation on the nutritional iron status of 31 adolescent girls, aged 12-15 years, with low hemoglobin levels. They were randomly divided into four groups, and for two groups daily150mg or 900mg of L-ascorbic acid(AsA) was given in three equal doses at three meals during 9 weeks. To another group daily 60mg iron as ferrous sulfate was given in the same way as AsA. The control group was given sugar placebo. Body iron status was monitored through the determination of Hb, Hct, MCHC, and serum ferritin concentrations. Dietary AsA and iron intakes were measured from food consumption surveys performed by 3-day 24-hour recalls. The amount of absorbed iron was estimated from the model of Monsen et al. The average amounts of food iron for four groups were 12.3- 15.0mg and 11.1 - 18.9mg at initial and at final period of the supplementation trial, respectively. The tentatively estimated amount of absorbed iron was significantly increased in the 900mg AsA and iron supplementing groups, but not in the 150mg AsA and placebo groups. Both Hb and MCHC were improved to above normal levels in all groups except the placebo group. Hct was elevated only in the AsA 900mg group whose Hct was relatively lower than the other groups. Serum ferritin concentrations of the four groups, which were as low as 8.50 - 14.39ng/mL on average at the intial periods, augmented significantly to 20.18ng/mL and 26.63ng/mL in the 900mg AsA and iron groups, respectively. Serum ferritin was not elevated in either the AsA 300mg group or the placebo group. The above data indicated that the daily supplementaion of 150mg AsA to the meals containing 12-15mg iron per day promoted Hb levels of adolescent girls with low Hb, and the 900mg AsA supplementing improved not only Hb level but also body iron store. A supplementation of 60mg iron per day appeared to be slightly more effective in improving the iron status in comparison to the 900mg AsA supplement.   • All fifteen flavonoids (1-15) have been isolated from the roots of Sophora flavescens (Leguminosae) as active principles of the cytotoxic property toward human tumor cell lines such as A549, SK-OV-3, SK-Mel-2, XF498 and HCT15, in vitro. By means of spectral analyses, particularlyby the aid of various two dimensional NMR experiments, all $^1H-NMR$ ad $^{13}C$ -NMR signals of 1-15 were completely assigned, and thus the structures of 1-15 were established unambiguously.

위암환자의 피로와 영양상태와의 관계 (Relationship between Fatigue and Nutritional Status in Patients with Gastric Cancer)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between fatigue and nutritional status in gastric cancer Design. A correlational and crossectional study design was used. Method: Fatigue was measured using the Revised Piper Fatigue Scale. The parameters for nutritional status consisted of BMI, Hb, Hct, total protein, albumin and lymphocyte count. Result: The mean score of fatigue was $94.31{\pm}22.08(mean\;average\;4.48{\pm}1.00)$. The subdimensional scores of fatigue revealed $34.15{\pm}8.76$ for behavior/severity, $22.00{\pm}7.93$ for cognitive/mood, $21.67{\pm}5.56$ for sensory, and $20.81{\pm}6.69$ for affective. And the level of BMI, Hb, & Hct were under the normal ranges. In the ancillary analysis, there was a significant difference on the fatigue scores by the groups of present diet(F=3.343, P=.026). Age, types of treatments, period after diagnosis and weight change were related to nutritional status. There was a significant negative correlation between fatigue and nutritional status(r=-.371, P=.004). Conclusion: Considering the relationship between fatigue and nutritional status, nurses can identify the risk group most vulnerable to fatigue and malnourishment in order to provide appropriate interventions for them.
