The primary purpose of this research was to examine Korean childrens concepts of authority. Childrens judgments about commands of persons with varying age, social position, and knowledge were assessed. 48 subjects from the first, third, and fifth grades were presented with portrayals of persons giving children commands regarding two types of events: fighting and a game rule dispute. Subjects evaluated the legitimacy of commands and chose between different persons giving opposing commands. With regard to a command to stop fighting, subjects accepted the legitimacy of adult and peer authorities, as well as an adult without a position of authority. Subjects rejected commands that failed to prevent harm even when given by an adult authority. With regard to a game rule dispute, subjects most heavily weighted knowledge in evaluating the authority commands. The findings show that Korean children do not have a unitary orientation to adult authority, and have implications for an understanding of individuals' conceptions in the context of a cultural ideology emphasizing reverence for authority.

The role of suspension system in tracked vehicles cannot be overestimated because the driving and running conditions of such vehicles are very severe. It reduces the vibration and shock which are generated by road profile in running condition. As the tracked vehicle's running speed increases, more undesired vibrations can be generated by road profile particularly in the situation of field running. Investigation of the environmental impact of widespread pesticide use has revealed a virtue/vice relationship. Although many pesticides perform their function and disappear without harm to the environment, others persist beyond their useful purpose and cause direct of indirect hazard to man, domestic animals and wildlife. Concurrently, many pests have rapidly adjusted to chemical control practices through changes in behavior that avoid exposure to pesticides of throuth genetic selection for populations resistant to the toxicants. The prospect of losing control over insect herbivores and desease vectors and returning to the days of global hunger and disease is unthinkable. Fortunately, from basic studies of insect and plant biology many opportunities for the development of safe, selective and environmentally pacific strategies for insect pest management are being realized.

There is a delicate balance between too little and too much supplemental oxygen exposure in premature infants. Since underuse and overuse of supplemental oxygen can harm premature infants, oxygen saturation levels must be monitored and kept at less than 95% to prevent reactive oxygen species-related diseases, such as retinopathy of prematurity and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. At the same time, desaturation below 80 to 85% must be avoided to prevent adverse consequences, such as cerebral palsy. It is still unclear what range of oxygen saturation is appropriate for premature infants; however, until the results of further studies are available, a reasonable target for pulse oxygen saturation ($SpO_2$) is 90 to 93% with an intermittent review of the correlation between $SpO_2$ and the partial pressure of arterial oxygen tension ($PaO_2$). Because optimal oxygenation depends on individuals at the bedside making ongoing adjustments, each unit must define an optimal target range and set alarm limits according to their own equipment or conditions. All staff must be aware of these values and adjust the concentration of supplemental oxygen frequently.

New synthetic method for methyl-7-iodoheptanoate was studied. Methyl-7-iodoheptanoate is important compound in the synthesis codlemone, the sex pheromone of codling moth which doing harm to apple tree significantly, and this compound also be used essentially in the synthesis of prostaglandin derivatives. In previous the methyl-7-iodoheptanoate has been prepared from-7-chloroheptanoic acid as a starting material with disadvantage, since the 7-chloroheptanoic acid is expensive and the process is much complicate. In this paper the method to preparing methyl-7-iodoheptanoate was developed economically by using dihydropyran as a starting material in the course of 5 steps. Hence, methyl-7-iodoheptanoate which can be synthesized by new method studied onthis paper should be very useful compound for preparing codlemone or its acetate which will be used to developing pollution-free insecticides, and for preparing prostaglandin derivatives with advantage.

ERV system has installed in almost newly constructed residential building in Korea. Heat recovery features of ERV can be possible to decrease the heating and cooling load caused by ventilation. However, in case of the outdoor condition is favorable to control the indoor air, the heat recovery function of ERV does more harm than good in term of cooling load. In this study, the ERV with economizer cycle control for residential building is suggested and the performance of the suggested system will be analyzed using TRNSYS.

Gastric lavage is now known to be ineffective, unnecessary or hazardous in some circumstances where it used to be performed as a routine. This article concerns the medico-legal aspect of forced gastric lavage. The Supreme Court 2005.1.28, 2003da14119 is the case where a patient, who ingested the organophosphate insecticide to attempt suicide and refused lavage. At first we discuss the effectiveness or hazards of lavage because a very high degree of proof -of negligence, not error of clinical judgment - would be required. Lavage, with or without the informed consent, performed negligently which result in harm could, of course, give rise to a claim in negligence. A doctor might also be held negligent in failing to perform an act which he/she had a duty to perform.

1. It is man that plays a important role in doing harm to ecology. And then these are inter-transformed essence, Qi and spirit and carry out unification themselves by coexisting with university. 3. I consider 'Well-being' is man-centered thinking countering to the view of ecology. Then the health of body and spirit is accomplished through the life harmonizing with nature incidentally. 4. It is need for realizing that man and nature have the mercy of Buddha in order to purify a ecosystem and our human society through practicing austerities and meditation. 5. Spirit is regarded as the important thing on Buddhism and traditional Korean medicine based on Orientalism. The purification of human mind is very important for maintaining of a ecosystem through practicing austerities and meditation.

These works were carried on to study the damage due to agricultural chemicals on silkworm and to find out the best ways to use them, considering, in the horticultural field, the utilization of them has rapidly been increased. The results may be summarized as follows: 1) The mulberry leaves being more than 100m from the horticultural field used the agricultural chemicals did not harm the silkworm. 2) Even if the mulberry leaves were located less than loom from the horticultural field sprayed with the chemicals, the silkworms were not injured after washing the mulberry leaves which were attached with the chemicals. 3) The chemicals, E.P.N., B. H. C. 2%, and Selesan were more seriously injured to silkworm than the other ones.

The goal of this study was to find out whether early maladaptive schemas (EMS) can be differentiated between the gifted adolescents and delinquent adolescents. Two groups of adolescents were recruited as participants to be surveyed. 144 gifted adolescents were taken from a gifted science and math education center, and 115 delinquent adolescents who had committed crime were taken from 4 police stations in the area of Gyungnam province in Korea. The Korean version of the Schema Inventory for Children was used to measure the level of the early maladaptive schemas (EMS). Stepwise discriminant function analysis yielded a function containing 5 maladaptive schemas (failure, unrelenting standards, vulnerability to harm and illness, loneness/mistrust/abuse, and subjugation), classifying 75.29 accurately into either gifted adolescents or delinquent adolescents. These results suggested that the types of adolescents (gifted adolescents, and delinquent adolescents) can be predicted based on early maladaptive schemas. The findings are discussed from the perspective of Schema Therapy and school counseling.
